I never ever writereviews but I had to for this place. It's basically fast food sushi people. My salad was ALRIGHT but the fish was a little on the warmer side. Atmosphere was pretty random. The worst part has to be the cashier, she was a rather plump girl with a Nose ring and a scowl on her face. She was rude, rolled her eyes several times at customers. Get rid of this girl! She's bad for your business! Place also needs to be cleaned. Whoever is running this place basically needs to be replaced with someone who knows what there doing. Well it used to be a good place to get rolls but my last time I went it was bad sushi was sloppy and the food tasted really bad like not fresh for it being raw fish or even cooked I got a bad upset stomach spent $40.00 buck what a waste read more

I take my daughter her after school to get sushi at least once a week. the service is great and they now know my daughter's order when we walk through the door. The food here is so good! They have amazing gyoza that is crispy but not greasy at all. Granted, the chicken teriyaki always has a decent amount of fat on it (hence the four stars instead of five). However, the teriyaki sauce on the bowl is pretty good. This place usually does have a bit of a wait, as they cook the food fresh after your order, so expect to wait about 10 minutes. For the quality of food it is well worth the wait. read more

The decor should be a little more Japanese. For an example the music should be more Oriental style. The employees are a little friendly but they need to stop talking with one another and serve the food. The sushi is pretty good but its a warm. Poor service, every time. When I went in the last time and times before, the two girls behind the counter had their back turned to the customers and were texting. I had to say "excuse me" just to get their attention. Then, the staff in the kitchen proceeded to chat among themselves for several minutes before working on my to go order. I love coming here if I need a quick sushi fix! Food always comes out super quick and tasty. Prices aren't too bad either! I have eaten here at least four times and have always been happy with the food and service. I usually get some kind of sushi roll and the tempura shrimp. The tempura shrimp have always been hot and crispy and delicious, and are a good value for the price. The sushi rolls have always been made with fresh and delicious fish and quite good portions of fish as well. The side of salad that comes with the sushi roll has a delicious dressing on it that I would buy if they bottled and sold it. The only quibble I have is that the rice in the sushi rolls is not as well made as what you would get in a top sushi restaurant, it is a tiny bit gummy. The service here has always been excellent with cheerful and helpful people taking orders and delivering the food. I personally am quite happy that Sushi Ai is in the Marketplace as it offers a nice alternative to the other food choices available here. read more

Disappointing. Expensive. Warning! Printed menu prices and permanent wall menu posted prices are completely different. Different items in printed menu. Ordered beef teriyaki bowl and California Roll combo, companion ordered beef teriyaki bowl. CA roll was ok, 6 pieces. Waited 25 mins. for the beef teriyaki and was brought out chicken teriyaki. I mentioned the error to the server who insisted with a very poor attitude that I ordered chicken. "NO! You ordered chicken". I did not! I do not like chicken. Server refused to make order right. The beef teriyaki bowl of my companion was tough, and tasted odd. I tried it and it definitely tasted of freezer burn. Asked for ginger to kill the taste and was told it would cost an additional 25 cents. Really? Overly priced, poor quality, wrong order. Will not be going back. Wish I could get my tip back out of the jar! read more

They wouldn't accept the yelp coupon for the free Cali roll if you ordered over $20. Chef said he never heard of it and it would cost them money. So i will never go back to this place. They got my order wrong and when i asked them to correct my order they wanted to charge more. So i asked if they coud just keep their bowl, and trade for the roll i did want, and call it even. The waitress said yes however as i was waiting they came out and said no cant do that. Horrible service. Doesn't anyone teach these employees ever to say I'm sorry? They lost our ticket and we had to bring it up to them twice! When the cashier told the cooks, they just threw their hands in the air like it's such an inconvenience to fill an order. We asked to speak to the manager, no surprise, there wasn't a manager there. So we went as a family of 6 after our little league game. I will never go back again because of the horrible timing on the food. 3 of our people received their food, while the remaining 3 had to wait another 20+ minutes for their food to arrive and when it did it was cold. The young lady, who couldn't be a day past 21 was trying her best to manage. If you own a restaurant and you leave it to people of this age and experience level to run it you do not deserve to stay in business long. I hope we get another great restaurant in that location when this place fails. You have much better options right next door at Los Agaves, Jersey Mikes and Brophe Brothers. read more

Another great experience. Ordered my favorite from here, vegetable udon. I think they have the best udon out of any I've had elsewhere. They give so much broth, it is so clear and delicious. Service is great, the people are friendly and personable, even at the end of the night. Closing is at 9pm, but they were still taking orders for people who came in at 8:55. Came here for hand rolls on Monday. I'm starting to think that the chefs intentionally mess up 1 out of 3 rolls just because. I ordered a scallop roll, salmon skin roll, and fish tempura roll. Instead of fish tempura, they gave me spicy tuna. I figured that since it was so cheap, I'd just eat the spicy tuna hand roll and not make a big deal about it. This was a huge mistake because the raw fish was gross. I liked the salmon skin roll but the raw scallop roll was also gross and my friend agreed that it didn't taste fresh. This is not the place to order raw fish from. I would've given 3 stars if I had actually gotten the fish tempura roll because I find that their cooked food is pretty good. 1/3 of my friend's hand rolls were also wrong. This place used to be sickening to the point of being inedible (the raw fish used to be beyond horrifying) so it's an improvement but please stop messing up orders. Also, ordered the seaweed salad for about 6-7 dollars; the seaweed itself was delicious but it was mixed with lots of iceberg lettuce which was disappointing. read more

Sushi Ai is a pretty terrible sushi restaurant in a great location, unfortunately making it a popular easy lunch spot. If you have to go there, try to get a lunch special like the bulgogi bowl with california roll. The bulgogi is okay tasting and worth picking off the top of the bowl. The rest of the bowl should just be thrown away. The california roll is fine, even Sushi Ai couldn't screw that up. Besides the food, the inside of the restaurant is pretty nice and it has great outdoor seating. read more
