Sushi & Co is definitely a hidden gem in Duluth. It's tucked back in the corner of a strip mall so it might be easy to miss. But you definitely DONT want to miss out on this place. The vibes are immaculate with eclectic but very meticulous decor. Service was excellent and the rolls were DELICIOUS. After some recommendations we decided to try this family owned local gem and the sushi was exceptional. There are not a lot places in GA that can serve sushi and sashimi that's close to "real authenticity" comparable to being in Japan. Luckily Sushi and Co does a great job and the fish tastes really fresh. The decor is nice although slightly dark for my preference as my eyes aren't what they used to be (I'm older). This sushi spot is tucked away in a little corner and looks unassuming on the outside. It is a small shop with cute string lights. It was quiet when we walked in but definitely picked up later in the night. We originally chose a spicy tuna roll but the lovely waitress recommend the blue fin roll and she was right ! It was absolutely amazing, it was fried and came with a sweet and savory sauce. The scallions on top were the perfect combo. The white fish roll we got was also great! Came with fish and tempura and the tempura was perfectly fried and was the perfect crunch. The white fish was fresh and sweet. The sashimi platter came with 9 pieces of sashimi for $20. I did think the salmon slices were a little thin but definitely fresh. The miso soup was also savory and light. The waitress was so sweet, they are a small shop and seems like they only have one waitress. So the service was not the fastest, but she was efficient! What a lovely dining experience! My hubby and I called for reservations at 8, we wanted to avoid as many people as possible. Sue, one of the owners (her husband is the other and the chef) was pleasant on the phone and in person. Located in a smaller shopping plaza with plenty of parking. The decor is lovely. Bathrooms were very clean (always important people). We were promptly greeted and seated. Her and her husband were the only two employees and by the looks of things we avoided the main rush, which as one our first post vaccine dine out meals, we wanted. We started with Takoyaki and a Green salad. I am going to say it out loud- the BEST takoyaki I have had since Japan!! It was perfectly proportioned with tender bites of octopus in an amazing sauce. Speaking about sauce. Fun fact, they make ALL of their own sauces by hand including their signature soy sauce. Their wasabi paste is made out of actual wasabi vs horseradish. What a nice feature. After a great start, we ordered a spicy tuna roll (a good way to see their spice levels) and because of reviews (like this one) the signature Blue Fin roll. This is a fried roll and my husband does not like them but this was surrounded by 3, yes 3 amazing sauces. The spicy sauce, white sauce and eel sauce. Those sauces elevate what would be a typical hot tuna roll. This roll is also quite large. I am glad for that because the non fried fan, ole hubby, loved it. My husband also decided to try something new, Gyu Don. This is a thinly, thinly marinated sweet sliced beef over warm sushi rice. Fantastic and a large bowl. Prices are also very, very reasonable. An absolute gem in the area!! Let's start with how beautiful, clean, and quaint the interior was during my visit. The decor is inviting and intimate. A great place for a date night, dinner with friends, as well as a nice environment for well behaved kids. I was greeted by a nice host who also served in a dual role as the waitress. Customer service was superb and she accommodated my meal selection. I for the Sushi & Sushami Regular. They graciously allowed me to swap out the octopus sushami for an extra piece of tuna. Everything was fresh and odorless! They have a custom made low sodium soy sauce and it was delicious. My overall experience and visit was magnificent. Per the server it was a slow night in comparison to the prior night and I absolutely loved being there with no crowd. The music selection was great and suitable for all ages. I'll be adding this gem into my regular rotation and I wish them great success in the area. It's great having a nice and clean sushi spot to visit. We had a craving for sushi recently and wanted to try some place new and local. Stumbled upon this place since our normal spot was closed down the street. The decor was really rustic chic and not what I would normally expect for a sushi restaurant but very clean and inviting. We ordered 3 rolls in total, the best one was the soft shell crab which had great textures and flavors, the other one had this dried kelp on the outside on top of a very thick layer of sauce. For me, it just had way too much sauce that drenched the sushi which doesn't give you much room to dip it in soy. I think I would've enjoyed it with more of just a drizzle of the sauces because it was overpowering and we couldn't taste much of what was inside the roll. Our server was very friendly and told us they make that white sauce in house that was on the roll. We enjoyed all three for the most part and we will be back to try some other rolls next time. read more

Cute and cozy local sushi restaurant. Our recent visit wasn't the best so we won't be back on the weekends for a while but we will go back on the weekdays. Went on Feb 4, at around 5:50pm. The restaurant was already full by then. Had to wait 20 min to be seated and 90 min to get our food after getting seated. What a find! Wanted to try something new and found this spot on Yelp and was up for an adventure. When you walk inside you can tell immediately they take pride in the decor. Modern feel with metal and wire racks holding the lighting and illuminating a faded white painted brick wall. Very inviting feel for wood tables with various designs and mixture of chair options. For my food I did two rounds and in my first, I went with some sushi: salmon, tamago, and a negi hamach roll along with a miso soup. Miso soup was killer and a cool wooden spoon. The decor is modern, and less of what you would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Felt cozy, and tables were set apart so you didn't feel crowded in. We had one order of the sashimi deluxe platter, one chirashi deluxe platter, and I had the cold soba noodles. Salads came out and they had ginger dressing on them. Very ginger forward vs mayonnaise forward. It's a refreshing salad. I love the simplicity of the noodles and the broth. Flavorful and not overdone where you felt just a high level of saltiness. Lots of noodles! The chirashi presentation is gorgeous. From the knifework to the layout you are getting a healthy variety of fish for you to enjoy. Sushi rice provided and it is a high quality rice with flavor. Sashimi platter was also very, very beautiful and plenty of healthy cuts to enjoy. This pricing is not going to be inexpensive, but you are paying for the entire experience and the variety. You won't go hungry here. We also had the blue fin roll- which had tuna and was deep fried. If you like sauce, this is the roll for you- it has three sauces and you don't need any soy or anything else with it. Really cool to look at, even better to eat. There was a crowd since it was Friday night, the restaurant did a superb job with keeping crowds happy with little bites to tide you over until you received your food. I was meeting one of my friends for a networking lunch at Sushi Machine, b/c we both had wanted Poke Burritos, and they were closed for some type of renovation. I recalled getting a Sushi Burrito here previously with my ex, so thought it would be a good spot. They are kind of hidden in a very small strip mall off Abbott's Bridge, near Peachtree Industrial intersection and Duluth Hwy. Walking in, it's very modern and open, semi-industrial feeling. I love the atmosphere here. We opted for a table, and I ordered their hand roll lunch special (spicy tuna, california, eel and salmon roll). It came with choice of miso soup or salad, and I choose the soup. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars and not 4 is due to this past trip. The hand rolls were not that great, and very hard to tear apart with your teeth when biting into them. While they did have a decent helping of the protein, there really wasn't much else packed in there. I had one of their sushi rolls on a previous trip and it was very good, but the hand roll I ordered on that trip was also lacking. My friend had the sashimi and sushi lunch, and I had wished I'd gotten that. My advice here, stay away from the hand rolls and just order the soup and rolls. So remember Blue Fin? If you liked their sushi, you're in luck. Sushi & Co is run by their sushi chef! Their waitstaff is also the same. Sushi & Co has such a clean and modern atmosphere. It's a little small on the inside, but not cramped by any means. For how good it is, I can just see it having some wait times for tables. There's your typical seating at the sushi bar in addition to some square and round table seating. This could be a really great spot if you want a quieter atmosphere. It would be perfect for dates. They provide complimentary hot green tea, so you know they're a legit Japanese restaurant. This time, I ordered the Ten-zaru Soba ($12) and some takoyaki ($6). The other members of my party had their sushi. We were very impressed. And relieved that we found our replacement for Blue Fin, since no where else has been able to live up to it. The takoyaki was perfectly cooked and you could truly taste the octopus. The sushi is fresh and of very good quality, especially for the price. The portion sizes for the entrees are very reasonable. The service is impeccable. It might be because we came when they had just opened, but the sushi chef and waitstaff both checked on us multiple times to make sure we were happy with the quality. Overall, I would highly recommend Sushi & Co if you're in the mood for some authentic Japanese food. Cute sushi spot! I frequent the same places so much that I decided to take my daughter and try something new. She thankfully loves sushi places, and has an affinity for miso soup. Service was great! We sat at the bar, and I really liked the comfort of the bar stools, because not all places are created equal in that respect. They serve wine, beer, sake, sparkling drinks, and typical sodas. They have hot appetizers and cold appetizers like salads, along with teriyaki, if you don't want sushi, as well as a kids menu, which is always nice to see. I will say their green salad with ginger dressing is one of the best I've had in the area. It was super fresh dressing with quality greens. I loved the dressing, because it was thicker, not runny, and had a real freshness to it...definitely not from a jar. My daughter loved the miso soup. She devoured it! I was so happy to see her eat it up like that. I tried a spoonful, and agreed that it was very tasty, but she is definitely the connoisseur not me. I wanted to try a roll, but I cannot think of the name of it! I asked that they make it spicy, but I still needed spicy mayo, too. The sauce underneath was interesting. I didn't love the white sauce under the roll so much, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. And the plating was beautiful! Very fancy looking. I would say their forte is the sushi dishes. Poke bowl and sashimi lunch presentation is very nice and delicious. The Katsu don was OK and doubt I'll order that again. Service is fine, but it seemed kind of slow since it was not crowded at all. The music playing in the background didn't create the ambiance that I would've preferred while eating Japanese food (Motown music).
