    Katsu don

Very authentic and tasty, one of my top tonkatsu places now! The interior is casual, comfortable, and spacious. I got the katsu don because I like my rice to have the soy and eggy flavor added, and it was really savory and filling. The crust is nicely crispy without being too thick, and the pork itself was soft and juicy. The premium tonkatsu looked super tender and juicy. The unlimited cabbage salad is a nice addition but I didn't feel like I needed it. I'd definitely choose this spot over others whenever I want tonkatsu in the future!

Whoa we fell in love right away - the menu, the food, the service, the space - we will be back for sure. I learned about the place from Instagram - not sure if they still have the $10 lunch specials but that was the lure that got us to check it out. They are located in the same shopping as the Medlock Regal Cinema. CHICKEN KARAAGE COMBO - $10 The karaage was good. Came w/ a mayo-like sauce for dipping. Cabbage salad served as a starter - learned later that you can opt for the potato salad instead which we'll try next time. Combo also came w/ a miso soup which was delicious ... one of the best miso soups I've had! MINCED KATSU COMBO - $10 This was the highlight dish for sure. The katsu coating was perfection, and the pork inside was not at all what I expected ... it was minced and interesting tasting ... we loved it! Served w/ two sauces, and pickles. Also came w/ the cabbage salad as a starter, and the miso soup. Next time I'd like to try the Croquette Combo w/ the potato salad - and eventually try all their dishes. The menu looked really good!

Best Tonkatsu we have had so far. The Tonkatsu is crispy, fried really well and using fresh oil. This is the place my family enjoys to come to when we re craving some Tonkatsu and it never disappoints. The Karaage is also one of my favorites. We love and enjoy the wide range of sauces, salads and dressings. Must try! The service is really good. Very attentive and super fast. We had barely ordered when they brought out the food. The restaurant is bright and the music in the background is calming and welcoming. You can hear the kitchen which we like. We cant wait to be back.

First of all, I loved the wide layout of the place, with high ceilings. Not only chic, but a comfy ambiance as well. Also, the service was really good...very attentive. I tried their Tonkatsu Platter...and also their Seaweed Salad on the side. I loved how it also came with miso soup. Sadly, however, I didn't love the taste of the Tonkatsu. For one, I felt it was undercooked...or it was just very soft...almost mushy?? I regretted getting the pork...Might have liked the chicken katsu better. Still, overall, I liked the restaurant enough for it to merit 4 stars.

The meal closest to camera is shrimp katsu with daikon radish and mentaiko rice upcharges. Comes with cabbage and miso.

The Katsu chicken and shrimp were both really good. I typically don't like katsu style frying because it can feel greasy or heavy but this was incredibly light and airy. The service was average. Plenty of seating but nothing private. So just be ready to hear other's conversations. The only thing my partner and I did not like was the Takoyaki. Overall great food. Will definitely be back.

This was a really random on the whim selection and I can't say it was worthwhile. I ordered the tonkatsu combo $19 (includes rice, miso soup, and cabbage salad). The batter on the pork was light and crispy due to the panko. The pork itself was on the fattier side making for a pretty heavy dish. I did not care for the cabbage salad dressing nor the sauces the accompanied the dish. I tried a different sauce that came with the curry and felt it better complemented the meat. The meal wasn't bad but also nothing to write home about. It was so heavy and even with different combinations it all felt like the same bite/one note. Service was almost nonexistent. I had to ask for utensils and napkins twice. When orders came out, foods were not properly mentioned so huge mix up in food. No one came to check up on us after the food came. So no water refills or asking if we needed anything. Spacious restaurant with a casual atmosphere.

Plenty of parking in plaza where it's located. They have a mix of booths and tables with a call button at each. The menu is pretty straight forward, they offer different types of tonkatsu in a variety of sets. Each table also has a container for chili oil (not spicy, but more garlic flavored. Reminded me of the chili crisp), matcha salt, and spicy red pepper for the curry. We got: - shrimp head appetizer ($4) for like 12 pieces of fried shrimp heads. I love fried shrimp heads so this was an easy decision - chicken thigh tonkatsu set with extra side of curry: the curry was $3 extra and comes on the side. The set itself comes with miso soup and cabbage salad with a sesame dressing (you can sub it with potato salad). The salad is unlimited refills but the potato salad is not. The dressing needed salt so after adding some of the matcha salt, it was perfect. The curry was solid. The chicken thigh was super crispy and moist, it was the best cut of meat at the table (even among the premium tonkatsu). Would def get that again!! The set comes with 2 sauces, a standard sweet ish katsu sauce with a sliver of wasabi (?) that was perfect when mixed and yum yum sauce. - pork katsu don: the rice was great underneath. It was already seasoned and adding some matcha salt and chili oil made it even better. The pork was a bit dry but the outer fried part was crispy and good. The egg on the don was well cooked and delicious. Overall get the chicken thigh!!

the katsu curry GENUINELY saved my life. i studied abroad in japan last summer and found my favorite/comfort food: katsu curry. i'd been searching for a YEAR for a place to get it again and finally found this place. i'd tried making it myself and its just not the same. i drive over 40 minutes to get here. worth every second. if they had one in kennesaw i would be there EVERY. WEEK. it's such a nice little place, and the service is prompt and the food is fresh. never change ... you're 完璧..

Chicken Breast Katsu combo with miso soup and salad

I was surprised when I came here on a whim and saw it had changed from the ramen place I visited a while back! Once I wrapped my brain around the different menu, I decided in the chicken breast katsu combo with a little salad and miso soup. The chicken was crisp and juicy with the panko breading and rice and egg. Could have used more flavor so I added chili oil which was the right decision. The miso soup was fine and the salad was forgettable. The area as wide and spacious with booth and table seating. It is in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The service was swift and kind.

4.5 but will round up. Came by for Saturday lunch and the place soon filled up by the time we left. Service was kind and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We at first thought it was a bit pricey but the portions were huge so I think the price is fair. We each got pretty big salads to start that came with our meals. Ordered takoyaki for our appetizer. Liked that there were several pieces of octopus inside, some places are mostly batter. Husband ordered the katsu curry with an omelette and thought it was delicious. He said he would have liked more curry sauce though. He had leftover katsu but curry sauce was gone. I had the regular katsu set and loved how crispy yet light the katsu was. There were some fatty pieces on the edges but I enjoyed the meatier ones in the center. It also came with a miso soup, rice, and some pickles. Wished there was more katsu sauce on the side. Overall would definitely return the next time we are craving katsu!

Premium Tonkatsu and Chicken Thigh Katsu Don

Very impressive! I've recently been disappointed by a few katsu places in the area, so I didn't have much expectations for this place. But this place was surprising. Ordered the premium tonkatsu combo and the chicken thigh don. Tonkatsu was more fatty and it did get a bit oily at the end as it cooled down, but first bite when it was hot was heavenly. Chicken thigh don was delicious! The rice especially was my favorite part but the chicken thigh was also so soft I forgot it was chicken as I was eating it. Service was great. All the waiters were so friendly and so quick! Space was pretty large but it filled up very quickly probably since it was Saturday night. We'll be visiting again as I think this is one of the best katsu places we've visited in the area.

We came here because we were in the area so stopped by for katsu takeout and chose the cheese katsu $12 for just katsu & chicken katsu $13 for just katsu & a side of cabbage $3 The cheese one only has 4 pieces so I wouldn't call this a whole meal which is probably why they press you to get a combo for $5 ish more but for takeout, I don't need rice It took about 15 minutes and the restaurant was not busy at all There was plenty of parking in the lot and everything smelled really good and came with sauces for dipping Overall, it was good and everything was fried nicely!

Loved this place! I was in the area and run into this restaurant, and wow, it was amazing! We had the chicken breast katsu, tonkatsu, and edamame. Everything was delicious. Super crispy and flavorful. The sesame sauce was probably my favorite! Service was great. We went for a quick lunch on a weekday so the restaurant was quiet.

I had tried a seafood boil from here a while back, and the sauce wasn't as good as what I've had from a local competitor. However, my boyfriend insisted that we give it another try, so we ended up ordering the Kickin Combo #1, along with a dozen raw oysters and an order of fried oysters and fries. The raw oysters came out first. I didn't want any, so they were for my boyfriend. Immediately after trying the first one, he wasn't happy with it. He said it tasted fishy but decided to give another one a try, thinking maybe the first was just a bad one. Unfortunately, the second wasn't any better, so he sent them back. Next came the fried food, which is never a miss. I absolutely love the fried oysters here. Then the seafood boil arrived, and at first glance, it looked promising. The seafood appeared large and fresh. I grabbed a shrimp first, sucked the head, and immediately noticed a strong fishy taste. I then dipped the shrimp into the sauce, but the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. I tried a few of the other items in the boil, including a mussel, but the texture was extremely chewy. Between my boyfriend and me, we ate a total of about ten or less things from the boil before deciding we were done. Unfortunately, it was not good whatsoever, and I was extremely disappointed. I asked if there was anything that could be done, and the manager offered to reheat it. I explained that the temperature wasn't the issue but the fishy taste and the texture of the seafood. He then said there wasn't anything else he could do besides take 20% off the bill. While I appreciated the discount, it was still disappointing given how much of the meal we were unable to eat. The service itself was good, and the ambiance was chill, especially since we went during dinner. Unfortunately, though, the food quality of the seafood boil and raw oysters overshadowed the positives for me. All in all, I won't be returning.

The chicken feet were braised until incredibly tender, and the broth was spicy, rich, and incredibly addictive. The rice that came with it needs more mayo, so is more creamy and bc is not sticking together to make it into a ball.
