Overall, it is ok! I personally didn't think a lot of the sushi roll on the menu were actually sushi. It was a lot of shrimp options. Was disappointed in the Arkansas Roll. I think it has crab meat and the actual fish was on garnish on top. Miso soup was good! It was a good size bowl. The combo meat hibachi was flavorful. The tofu was also good but could use more sauce. The service was OK! It seems like a lot of people order to go so there was only one person running the show on the floor. Sushi was ok, but the service was terrible. Arrived at noon for lunch, and didn't get our food until 1pm. When we arrived, there was one other table seated in the restaurant. The food came at varying times leaving my child as the last once to receive his food closer to 1:10. Drinks were rarely refilled and I had to get our table refills. When we asked about our food an hour into service, the waitress stated that "she's cooking it." I reminded her how long we had been waiting and her reply was "I can't control what the kitchen is doing." This was by far the worst service I have ever experienced. We only ordered sushi rolls and fried rice and it took almost 2 hours to have lunch in a nearly empty restaurant. The one mildly redeeming quality was that the waitress provided a 10% discount on the fried rice because of the long wait, which was less than the tax on the meal. We will not return. read more

We went during our lunch-break to try out their sushi, and the vibe inside was very strange. I ordered the Polite Roll. I typically like cream cheese inside of my sushi, but there was just too much I ended up picking the majority of it out. The sushi was questionable at best and the salmon on top did not look fresh. My work colleague ordered the lunch hibachi chicken, and it looked less appetizing than the sushi I ordered. It appeared as though they had just put some teriyaki sauce on top of the chicken instead of cooking it with the sauce and the hibachi vegetables looked raw. We won't be returning and we're very disappointed with the food and how much we paid for the meals. If you're looking for decent sushi/hibachi look elsewhere. read more

I dine here frequently while in town for business. The staff is always friendly, and they have an unusually broad selection of menu items. My non-sushi eating companions will often get their burger, which is really good (so they say). Sushi rolls are good and inventive, even though I keep it fairly simple with sashimi and a basic roll for a quick and light meal. Cooked dishes are good and filling. Chicken wings are really good, but would be better if larger sized wing pieces. Great staff, clean and reliably consistent. read more

Volcano rolls swimming in sauce which obscured flavors and was unappetizing in appearance. The Cafe roll was very mediocre. The edamame was undercooked. TL;DR - Orders wrong, food burnt, excessive wait for an almost empty restaurant. We'll never be willing to go back again. Stopped in for lunch, arrived about 11:30. 4 other people in there, and 2 of them had their food already. Wife and I ordered 2 burgers. The Hawaiian, and the Swiss Rock Town. The burgers didn't arrive till noon. Seriously, 30 minutes for a burger? The only thing right on my burger was the fact there was a bun, and hamburger. No swiss, no mushrooms, no bacon.. not even close. Well we couldn't wait for them to take 30 min for another one. So we got my wife's burger to go, since it look like it was right. Our waitress was very helpful getting our bill fixed, and was wonderful. Great service. My wife got back to work 7 minutes later. Her pineapple on the burger wasn't ever cooked, there was no sauce on it. The cheese had the consistency of Kraft Singles, and the burger was cold. The bun was burnt on the top, and bottom. They use to have great food, and you could go there for lunch. Now, well if you have a 2 hour lunch, and don't mind your order being wrong, then you might give it a try. Otherwise, you'll get faster service, and likely a correct order, at a fast food burger joint. Thank goodness we didn't try for the sushi. Who knows how that would have turnedout. read more

We really like this place. I've not had anything that wasn't good there. The one critique I would give this place is the wait time for non sushi items is incredibly long. Well I've been back a couple more times over the past year and I still need to let people know about the sushi chef. I was there for an hour again today and he wore the same gloves the whole time. With those same gloves on I saw him wipe his nose, rub his mouth and face, adjust his ear buds, and also make sushi several times. He also kept putting his eyeglasses down directly on the prep surface and then kept making sushi on the same surface. This guy just can't stop rubbing his nose! Change your gloves please! We came here for the first time and were expecting decent sushi since the restaurant is beautiful. The interior has a Japanese ambience perfect for a sushi house. However, I was disappointed in the quality of the sushi. I understand good sushi is hard to find in the middle of Arkansas but the sushi here was bland, almost flavorless and actually took quite a long time to be served. For the price you pay at Sushi Cafe you can find much better sushi elsewhere in Little Rock. Some of the best 'american' rolls I've had in Little Rock. Seemed to be the options for regular nagiri and sashimi was limited on the lunch menu. Food poisoning warning! I ordered one veggie roll, a California roll and a seaweed salad. I felt nauseous immediately and within two hours I had never been more sick in my life. I'm glad Sushi Cafe opened up in West Little Rock but I like the vibe better at their Heights location on Kavanaugh. Basically the same food with several hibachi entrees that are not offered at their original location. In terms of freshness of their sushi/sashimi, it is better than some of the places here in Little Rock but it still lacks the quality of what you can find in larger cities. I'll definitely be back since it's close to where I work but too be honest, I'll probably be at their Heights location or at Kemuri just for the environment. read more
