We ordered the Ika fry as our appetizer and it was surprisingly good. My daughter and I finished it off pretty quick after it cooled down a bit. For our main we shared the super boat, apparently it's tagged as a 4 person meal and the 3 of us demolished it in no time at all. Also got another roll that I can't remember the name of but it was very good as well. The disappointment came with the Chicken Katsu Ramen that my daughter ordered. Both the kids said the broth was OK, and had a hint of peanut flavor but tasted more like cheap Ramen noodles from the grocery store in a broth that was flavored slightly better than the generic Ramen. My daughter wasn't a fan of the Chicken Katsu either. The look and feel of the place is pretty decent, plenty of seating and a nice little sushi bar seating area as well. I haven't read any of the other reviews, but I went here last night and I could tell you right now. I don't know how this place doesn't have five stars. All the sushi was fresh. The miso soup that I got was very tasty. The customer service was amazing. The waiter was great at what he was doing is quiet and a friendly place to be to be able to talk to your friends or to even just enjoy sushi and to enjoy your day, I was just going here. Just an update that after years of going here, they continue to provide delicious food and great service. Took the family put last night after having both of my girl's parent teacher conferences. They both are doing amazing, so I took them to their favorite spot. Arrived at 8 pm, 1 hr before closing and there were several tables available. We were seated immediately and offered water's as we sat down. My husband and I ordered hot tea, while the girls got sodas. We ordered 3 of the sushi deluxe dinners. These come with 8 pieces chefs choice nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. Also, you get soup, salad and rice. My youngest is still warming up to spicy foods, so she got her spicy tuna with out heat. My husband ordered the shrimp tempura dinner. 5 shrimp and lots of veggies, with soup, salad and rice. He always says how perfectly the shrimp is cooked. Last, we got one california crunch, because you have to have one every time you go. Everything was delicious! My young son and his mom had dined here before and he said that it was very good. He really likes the Teriyaki Sushi roll. He has a very good palate (was raised on Teppanyaki), so I took his recommendation to heart. I then dined here with a friend and tried their Bento Box with Teriyaki Chicken, soup and salad, and Tempura Shrimp. Everything was delicious and served hot. Portion size was good but not overly generous. Pricing is a bit on the higher side but that didn't discourage me from coming back. They do have lunch specials which are a bit cheaper, but the lunch portions are even smaller than their dinner portions. Service was always friendly and excellent. No faults there. I have since dined her at least four more times. The second time the portion size was very small and made me feel ripped off. I also got a to go order for my son and had to eat some of his food just so that I was full. Not cool. On subsequent visits, the portion size was better, but still not consistent with the first dining experience I had here. The taste of the food has always been consistent and delicious. If they would be a bit more generous and consistent with their portion size, they could get 5 stars from me. read more

This has always been our go to Sushi place, but last night I went off course and ordered terriyaki chicken. I always love the caramelized onions on the bottom. What I got was dry terriaki chicken on a bed of RAW onions. Quite offputting. I don't think I can order it again. The server was gracious and took it back, but I got it back as my family was already finishing dinner. Now its dryer than dry. Simple meal gone wrong. I love Sushi. I love Miso Soup. I love Tempura. I love Teriyaki. This place has decent Teriyaki. Miso soup tasted like they used stinky tofu in it! Suprisingly, the tofu in it tasted ok. But, the rest of the soup was not pleasant. It tasted old and stale. I had Spicy tuna roll. It had good tuna, but not at all spicy. The teriyaki chicken was offf putting. It didn't taste like teriyaki. It had a salty sharp taste. The tempura wasn't bad, in fact it was okay. I have had much better tempura though. The California rolls were just basic. Not real good, but not bad. And for my pet peeve...canned soda! Come on! That isnt good service. A refill requires buying anot h er soda! Sushi Cuisine is our go to place for sushi in Turlock. Use to be Sushi Garden but they got way too expensive. Sushi Cuisine has big portions when it comes to sashimi and their rolls. The sushi is always good. There ramen is also great. Be careful with the hot ramen, they use a certain pepper that is HOT. My only complaint is this place does nickel and dime you. **update** 02/01/2019: This place really disappointed me. The cucumber were translucent meaning it was old. The cucumber was not crisp as cucumbers should be. This place made all our rolls with old refrigerated cucumbers. Pathetic. Shame on you Sushi Cuisine. read more
