I got the filet mignon and lobster towel with the four dollar add-on for the chicken fried rice and the shrimp tempura appetizer and Hubby got the lobster towel with scallop. Cooked to perfection. At other places I go to the lobster is either way undercooked or too overcooked. This was exceptional. I don't even like scallops, but these scallops were hittin'. Had a really good time with the family for a birthday. The chef tossed a few shrimps and landed it in our mouths. The food was really good, I had scallops and steak with chicken garlic fried rice! So good. I also had calamari and California rolls to share which were also really good. The vibe in the restaurant is very fitting with the cultural food we were having. We had 2 birthday celebrations with a party of 19 and this restaurant did a phenomenal job taking care of us!!! We made reservations about 1 week ahead and were seated together with the two big teppanyaki grills across from each other so we can see everyone all night. Our drinks, appetizers, soup, and salad came right away (the salad was my favorite, if you don't want soup, you can get 2 salads!) Our chefs came soon to cook our food and did a great job! I requested my fillet mignon at medium and it was cooked to perfection! Everything was seasoned perfectly and so delicious, the fried rice especially. Our waiters constantly checked on us throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed, our drinks were consistently refilled. I will say, we went on a hot August night, so that plus the hot grills made it hot inside but the staff brought two big fans for our tables and that helped! It was a Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 PM the three of us plus one other couple were the only customers at the time, the service was the best I've had at a Teppanyaki restaurant. Not sure how it would be on a busy day. The food was awesome! Seasoned well and tasted fresh. My nephews had the chicken and lobster hibachi and kids steak hibachi, I had the filet mignon and chicken. The kids steak hibachi for children under 10 was a great deal because they gave the same size portion for the rice and vegetables and choice of soup or salad. We all loved our meals and had extra to take home. We also tried the salmon spicy roll which I thought was fresh and spicy. Just like how I like it. They add a 15% gratuity, which is fair. This place is always a good bet. They give you so much food, it's always good for leftovers the next day, making it a pretty affordable purchase for 2 meals. Also, they are so accommodating. I am gluten free and my brother-in-law has a shellfish allergy. At most teppanyaki restaurants, that would mean our food gets cooked in the back and sometimes forgotten about. Not here! They always cook my food on the cook top but seperate it out before adding soy sauce and cook the shrimp at the end for not contaminate my brother-in-law's meal. The floors are sticky, the walls are covered in grease, and the tables are dirty when you sit down. It feels like cleanliness is the last thing on their priority list. The food is no better. The steak and shrimp were clearly the lowest quality cuts of meat and seafood they could get away with serving. Nothing tasted fresh, and for the price, it's a complete rip-off. Overall, the entire experience was unpleasant from start to finish. To start off, these guys are located in a small shopping center, a fairly decent location for Manteca. When you walk through the front door, you are greeted by a large saltwater fish tank that at the time of writing has a blue hippo tang, a powder brown tang and a few others that were zipping around. It's pretty neat for a salt water tank fan. As far as the food goes, fairly solid. The Ahi Poke was really good. Solid flavor profile. The soup and salad they bring with your meal was more like hot water with some mushrooms and onions thrown in. My guess is that since it was early, it didn't have a chance to really build the soup base flavor. The salad was your typical salad served at most places like this. Pretty basic. The Tuna steak was cooked exactly as I asked, which I'll admit is rare for a tepenyaki joint. They normally always over cook my tuna. Chicken fried rice was good, shrimp and veggies included with meal were good. Chef did a great job with the table side performance and had us smiling and laughing with him. One thing I don't like is that the tip is included on the check automatically. I don't like giving the bare minimum tip, but since it was included on the check, I didn't give what I normally would for great service. So I felt like some teppanyaki today. Hubby found this place while searching Google. Only 45 minutes from us. So here we are! Hubby got an appetizer of ahi poke bowl. Meals start with onion soup and salad. Hubby had tuna and fried rice. I got hibachi chicken and fried rice. Food is so yummy. Our cook put on a wonderful show. Fire yay! Everything is prepped in front of you. It really is spectacular especially for a date night. This restaurant is a small and romantic place. It is not too loud at all. I was the only one at the sushi bar yet they took forever to come take my order. One of the items I ordered they ran out of. Instead of asking me right away if I would like to order something else, they waited til my other roll was ready to serve to tell me. Yes I do recommend this place!! Great location for birthday celebration or fun eats. We came in for a birthday celebration during a weekday and didn't need to make a reservation. On busy nights I do recommend you make a reservation ahead of time. The wait wasn't long to get the food started and our cook was fun and funny. He included all of us in his tricks which made our time interesting. Food was good and we still brought home leftovers that still tasted good the next day. I noticed other tables had different groups of people that didn't come in together. We didn't get other people to sit with us but I guess because their group was bigger than what seats we had left and our food was already made. Nothing much to complain about.
