My friend just moved from Downtown Denver to over near this spot. Being a foodie one of my first questions is, "so what's good to eat around here?" He immediately suggested Sushi Den off Pearl as the go to spot. We had eaten at Temaki Den several times which is one of my favs when I visit. So I was all in. It did NOT dissapoint. Not only was the sushi top quality, but they had a wild selection of unique fish, and approaches to classic combos. We had some amazing Sake to pair with it. The server was outstanding and met us at our goofy level joking with us just the right amount. It's a beautiful restaurant with modern design and just casual enough where you don't feel like you have to be dressed to the 9's. Pearl street in general is very quaint and homey and walkable. I definitely recommend checking it out!!
Hands down the best nigiri I have ever had in my life. If ever you're in Denver, Sushi Den is an absolute must. It definitely requires reservations- but it's worth it. We tried it ALL. Not a single thing was remotely fishy - all of it top quality. The service was wonderful and they coursed it out for us so we could try everything freshly made. Parking wasn't easy - but the restaurant is very cute.
If I could give this experience 10 stars, I would. We enjoyed one of the most memorable meals I've ever had and I truly can't recommend it enough. From the start, Lewis made this meal a delight and walked us through the catch of the day menu with thoughtful details. Getting to learn so much about the origin of the fish and the details behind the ingredients made the night so much more interesting and special. His recommendations were phenomenal and so good that we ended up ordering seconds of three of the items. I even ordered a yuzu gin martini on his recommendation (and I don't like gin) and that was delicious, too. We ended the night with a palisade peach tart that was the perfect sweet finish to a perfect meal. My best recommendation is to come to sushi den and order as much of the catch of the day menu as your table can eat. You won't regret it. Also, we can't say enough good things about Lewis. The evening wouldn't have been the same without the attentive service, kindness, great recommendations, and overall wonderful energy.
Service was great! So attentive. The food was as good as I had hoped. The place is lovely and on theme. Parking is awful to find on your own but they do have valet. If you have a group including ASL users it might be helpful to ask for a four top table with a chair on each side. We forgot to ask and being at a table with two on one side and two on the opposite side made it a little uncomfortable to turn and sign. Definitely coming again. The food was perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. I would never order eggplant on my own but my friend insisted and it was spectacular.
Sushi Den located in Pearl St, Denver is a very busy, and popular sushi -Japanese restaurant. We went on a Wednesday night and it was a full restaurant, buzzing with customers (almost every table filled) with waiters, sushi masters preparing their rolls, sashimi, etc., and extra staff doing their duties. The ambiance is an open space with nice table settings of small bowls and chopsticks set up. Because it was so busy, it was very noisy, so don't pick sushi den for a quiet romantic dinner, instead go to the sister restaurant, next door, Izakaya. The food was good. I had two unagi,sushi and it was moist and soft. I had the clear soup- it had a nice flavor, a bit in the salty side. The salad was good, but I wanted to taste a bit more ginger. The bento box is a lot of food: the steak is a good size with a rich teriyaki sauce; the salmon was a nice flavor, but it was overcooked, it came with an interesting flavored ( maybe horseradish type) mashed potato, did not care much for it; the tempura was ok, a couple of the veggies needed just a little bit more cooking, the sauce needed a bit more flavor. It was a bit bland. The sashimi was well done. Our waiter, was very attentive and friendly. Overall, good sushi, I'm not sure that I'll redo the bento box again. I'll give it one more try, coming in earlier, and perhaps a little less busier time.
The appetizers and sushi we got were definitely good, but some of the fish was a bit too fishy for how fresh it's supposed to be, the wagyu was chewier than it should've been, and the ambience felt less warm and welcoming than other restaurants of this refinement. What we ordered: Wagyu kushiyaki - flavor and char was great, but had to chew a good amount more than you would want with wagyu. The little side of truffle mashed potatoes is amazing. Toro nigiri - on the "fresh from Japan" menu. Kinda fell flat - not bad, but didn't have much of that melt your mouth, buttery flavor. Mikan himachi nigiri - on the "fresh from Japan" menu. This was the nigiri that was fishier than expected. Deluxe sushi platter - great option to get more food for your buck. 4 nigiri, 6 sashimi, 2 hand rolls, and 1 california roll. Salad + miso soup.
We went there for our oldest son's birthday, his and his now fiancée's engagement and my husband and my 30th wedding anniversary yesterday. The waitress was Setsuko and she was so sweet and attentive the whole time we were there. She even gave us really good desserts with the candles which made us so special! The food was so delicious as always. We had nasu miso ( miso flavored eggplant) and grilled skewered beef, both of them were amazing then guys had nigiri with some rolls sets girls had chirashi, they look pretty and tasty!! We were so filled with great food and great hospitality. We will definitely go back there again!!
I celebrated my birthday at my favorite Denver restaurant, Sushi Den, and it never disappoints. The fish is unbelievably fresh, and the quality is consistently incredible. The service is phenomenal. The chefs are so friendly and helpful, and they really take the time to explain the dishes and specials. We started with the tuna flight, which was a special that night, and it was such a fun way to begin the meal. They walked us through the different types of tuna, and each one had its own distinctive flavor. All of the sashimi we ordered was incredibly fresh, delicate, and beautifully prepared. They even brought out complimentary cucumber salad and an orange dessert, which was such a nice touch. Honestly, the prices are very reasonable for the level of quality you're getting. Sushi Den is truly a Denver staple and absolutely not a restaurant to miss.
The teriyaki chicken plate was not traditional. Nicely presented but unfortunately I enjoy the flavor of the salad or the dressing on the potato. I found the chicken to have too much fat. Stick to the sea food menu... the restaurant was busy and people looked pleased. The restaurant interior is beautiful!
Sushi den is the place to go to celebrate special events. My friend and I had a blast getting dressed up and savoring every moment, every bite at Sushi Den! What a treat this was! Service was above and beyond friendly and the ambience, while more traditional was incredible as always. Denver staple fine dining! Superb!
Amazing experience!! Loved sitting at the chefs counter and watching the sushi be made. The crispy tuna rice is a death row meal for me. Especially enjoyed the lychee margarita and the scallop nigiri. This is a great special occasion spot. It's a darker ambiance.

This was our second visit to Sushi Den and it was even better than I remember. Pro tip: get there EARLY because items sell out fast. We arrived at around 4:30pm and ordered everything that typically sells out before the end of the night per our server's recommendation. Everything was fantastic. Fish was super fresh! Some shipped straight from Japan. I would say their raw dishes are the standouts because of this. It's an extensive menu - which our waitress walked us through all the most popular and special items. Also there was a line of about 30 people waiting for the restaurant to open at 5pm. We were seated in the first wave as a walk in. The prices were reasonable for the quality you're getting. Portion is on the smaller side. While everything tasted good, I wasn't blown away by any particular dish. Regardless we had a wonderful dinner with great service. read more

I always enjoy going here and made reservations on my birthday . The sushi is fresh and there is a lot of variety on the menu. The service was great! We were sat in their cozy room and it was nice yet loud. There was a large table in there with us. We were able to see out the window and it is very beautiful down there on Pearl Street. read more

Really enjoyed my time and food at this restaurant. I showed up on a Saturday evening, group of 5, and with no reservations. We got on the waitlist and we're seated in 35 minutes. Not too bad! We decided to walk around some while we waited. Sadly most of the stores in the area close early so there wasn't much to see. Once we were seated our waitress helped us right away and took our order. She made at least 8-10 trips to our table for more food orders, drink refills, desert order, etc. there as one small hiccup when a plate didn't come out. She went right to the back and came back with the food asap. One of the biggest surprises was on the desert menu. I've never seen pineapple upside cake on a desert menu. This is one of my favorite deserts to make at home!! It tasted great too. They also did a great job getting my wife a birthday desert. I'd come back again. read more

This is probably my favorite sushi place in Denver. Quality is unparalleled and the service is always fantastic. The 'Toro n Tuna' (not pictured) is my favorite. All of the rolls are great too. Inside of the restaurant is also beautiful and a great backdrop for any occasion. read more

We were disappointed. We are big sushi/asian food lovers and did not love what we ordered. We weren't given half the menu until the end when we asked to see the dessert menu....maybe we would've liked what was on there? We did order the gyoza off of that missing menu and loved it, we also liked the crispy tuna. The rolls were disappointing, the taste just was not great. I heard great things but we were not impressed. We did like the tuna sashimi. Beautiful location though. read more
Everything was mostly flawless here. It's always a good sign to me when the server doesn't blink when you ask them for an ice bucket to keep the cold sake cold. It's a HUGE place...the biggest sushi bar/restaurant I've ever been in. That would normally not be a good sign but they pulled it off very well. Yes, fairly expensive but also very good quality. We had an incredible time with our guests at Sushi Den. We were asked to walkthrough a doorway to enter into the other half of the restaurant which was stunning with live bamboo growing along side a staircase. The Omakase bar looked fun and I will keep that in mind for a future visit. The server was super attentive and offered great suggestions. The quality of the food was extraordinary. It was our first time at Sushi Den, we had a reservation at 8:00pm and we were seated pretty quickly after we checked in. The place was pretty dark but I think most fancy restaurants have dim atmospheres. It was our first time here so we got a bunch of stuff to try. We got recommended some things by our waiter and we definitely got it to try! We started with the miso black cod and holy Jesus this was fantastic. Miso Black Cod 9/10 - The sweet miso sauce that came with the cod was so good. This was one of our favorites of the night, the cod was perfectly cooked and juicy, paired well with the pickled daikon. Small Vegetables Tempura 7/10 - There was a good variety but there was one red bell pepper that we didn't love. My fav piece was the shitake mushroom in the front. Jalapeño Hamachi 6.5/10 - Nothing to write home about, it's refreshing but again the bell pepper kind of ruined the taste for us. It had bits of it on the fish. Wouldn't get again, but that's our preference! I think people who like bell peppers might really like it! Hamachi - 8/10 fatty, yummy. Good rice to fish ratio Sakura Salmon - 8.5/10 specialty salmon from Japan only during cherry blossom season. The texture was a bit fatty but also good chew. Tamago - 7.5/10 not too sweet and the texture was good! Big piece of egg! Seaweed added nice contrast to sweet taste. Rice on these nigiri are very yummy! Amaebi sweet shrimp - 8/10 nice texture, sweet shrimp and good chew! Amber Jack - 9/10 a little fatty with such a good chew!! So good love the texture. Seared toro - 11/10 omg the char from the searing complemented the fatty and omg it popped. So so good!!! Fried shrimp heads - 7/10 from the sweet shrimp! Yummy ! U can eat the whole head cause it's deep fried , nice snack! Overall, it was pretty good! Not everything was a banger but definitely some good stand outs! Would come back again. Price not too bad, $150 for everything not including tip. read more
Amazing, amazing, and worth the line (I never thought I'd say that). Food: Best sushi I have ever had (and I live in NY where I have a lot of great choices). I had a lovely calamari, pickled cucumber salad, and a great Service: I sat sushi chef side and I was amazed at looking at the skill and ease with which the dishes came together Ambiance: you have choices as it seems different depending on where you sit (and its day or night). Lighting is comfortable from the tables by the windows, to the upstairs, and chairs in nooks by some of the cocktail bars. I was happy to be close to the action and my sushi chef & my lovely neighbor from California. read more

Top item was the deluxe platter! I am really big on fresh ingredients and the one in the platter comes in from Tokyo! Service was good and ambiance was busy since it's a popular place for dinner. The Spider roll needed unagi sauce and less time in the fryer, and ingredients used for the assorted tempura needs work. Certain vegetables should only be used for tempura. In our assortment we had broccoli and I was not a fan. Since it steams as it's getting fried and how large of a piece it was, leads the inside to become soggy. If they can refine their menu and technique,I would give them five stars. However I will come back for the fish! read more

The fish quality was excellent, but just about everything we ordered was from the catch of the day menu, excluding the snow crab nigiri, unagi nigiri and black cod. Really enjoyed the oshisushi style app. The blue fin tuna app was amazing, melt in your mouth, and just so pure tasting. I would skip the snow crab nigiri and cod just because I've had such better crab/cod at home in Canada. The sake was great, and also an herbaceous martini was lovely! Our server Kristen was friendly and knowledgeable with great recommendations. Definitely a great sushi place! read more

Hands down the best sushi that I've had in Denver! I've only heard great things about Sushi Den and it's been on my list ever since I moved here 3 years ago. I finally was able to go for my friend's birthday and it was as amazing! We got a whole ton of dishes to share and there wasn't anything I disliked. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. Our server gave us great recommendations and we even had him choose our last two rolls. I give this experience a 10/10 and would recommend to anyone visiting the area! read more

My SOY-mate took me here for my Birthday! And let me tell you, the good times ROLL-ed... All jokes aside, Sushi Den is THE spot for sushi in Denver. Make the reservation, go and have an amazing meal! As it was a special occasion, my husband opted to make a reservation for the Chef's Table. Prior to ever stepping into the restaurant, we were emailed by Chef Yasu about our likes, dislikes, favorite fishes, textures, etc. I thought this was incredibly NEAT. Chef Yasu explained how he would use the answers to craft a unique one-of-a-kind menu for our coursed out meal. Spoiler alert: Chef Yasu did exactly that. For the Chef's Table, you sit at the sushi bar facing Chef Yasu. He explains how the restaurant gets their products (seafood, wasabi, soy sauce, etc.) from Japan, as well as, every dish he serves to you and why. Again, I thought this was incredibly NEAT. We had an array of delicious dishes! I'll be honest I was living in the moment so I did not write down the names of the different sashimi, nigiri and maki (photos are below). However, I can tell you that every bite we had was unbelievable. It is without a doubt THE BEST sushi we've ever had. read more
Lawd have merthy Sushi Den is the BOMB. It's owned by three brothers who actually cook in the kitchen and boy is the food made with love! Our waiter James was kind, attentive, and funny. He helped me order an off the menu lychee martini. All of the rolls were fantastic and some of the standouts include: - spicy tuna crispy rice - hamachi yellowtail - shrimp tempura roll The interior of the restaurant is stunning and definitely an awesome venue to take coworkers or go on a nice date. read more

Wow, Sushi Den is officially my favorite sushi restaurant in Denver! The restaurant is so trendy with great ambiance (dim lighting). We weren't able to grab a reservation online, so we opted to arrive right when it opens. Our server, Marco, is friendly and recommended great items from the daily special. For cocktail, I ordered the Blood Orange Horizon without jalapenos. It was sweet, tart, and refreshing from the puree and lemon juice. For the table, we ordered Osaka Style Aburi sockeye salmon, Aburi Bincho Roll, Negitoro roll, Negihama roll, and two items from the daily special menu. I enjoyed everything because the fish is so fresh and literally melted in my mouth. It's definitely comparable to some high end sushi joints in LA! If I ever travel to Denver again for work, I'm definitely checking out the Chef's Choice Omakase. Now I understand why so many coworkers recommended this place! read more

The website says they open at 4pm on Sunday. We arrived right at 4 to a locked door, called to find out they don't open until 5pm. Made a long drive for nothing. read more
Sushi Den is one of those places that we only visit once a year and we look forward to it like it's Christmas. There's always a line out the door and it is not overhyped. The wait staff is so attentive and friendly. Try the Miso black cod, it is so flavorful and silky smooth. The New Style Salmon roll is my favorite. read more

I took my daughter to the Sushi Den to celebrate her 22nd birthday. We went during lunch, right when they opened. The nigiri were delectable. The fish were thick and the rice were perfect. The waiter was very nice and we have a wonderful lunch. read more

I had the most amazing solo meal at Sushi Den during a recent business trip to Denver. I walked in and sat at the bar. Aburi Toro (5/5) - The fattiness of the tuna was well balanced with the slight char from the searing. Hotate (5/5) - The scallops nigiri were plump and slightly sweet. Amazing if you love fresh scallops. Miso Black Cod (5/5) - Well-marinated tender black cod that flakes easily Duck Udon (4/5) - Hearty bowl of udon with various types of mushrooms, fatty duck pieces, and seaweed. The udon also comes with a side salad. The udon was good but everything else I had were standouts. The service was excellent and the bartender was very attentive. Sushi Den is a great place to grab a solo meal, romantic date, or celebratory meal. read more
One of the top sushi places we've ever been. This place and huge but it is very popular so we made sure to make a reservation beforehand. We made our reservation at least a couple of weeks before. We ordered the unagi nigiris, uni nigiris, sashimi mix, new salmon roll, snow crab nigiris, tamago nigiris, and beef appertizer. Everything was super tasty and fresh. The price was reasonable as well. They will give you a piece of paper for you to mark down your choices. The waitress that we had was also nice! She brought us complimentary dessert when we mentioned that it was our anniversary. We will definitely be back here again. read more

There must have been a sudden cancellation because we were able to snag 5pm dinner reservations day of. Our waitress was great and we took her recommendations seriously, including the to die for Toro rolls. Not pictured is a seared toro nigiri. We enjoyed a drink, 8 nigiris, 1 crispy spicy tuna and the special roll for $185 before tip. Pricey, but worth it for indulging in fresh, delicious sushi! read more

What the average amount spent for 2, trying to price it out for my brother and his partner?
It depends what they want to order. I did the omakase and spent about $150, but that is on the higher end. If they order a few rolls, some nigiris, and maybe some sashimi, I would say maybe $50-$100 per person. I am aiming high btw.
It's says you are open at 4:30am. How busy are you at that time?
Yes, the line to get into the restaurant may be long, however you can be seated easily that time.
Can I order omakase as a walk-in?
we always reserve it first. So they prepare special for you.
Is there a minimum number of people in your party to make a reservation? The language on their website doesn't state that there is a minimum number, though OpenTable says 5+, and other reviewers have stated it as well.
