Unassuming from the outside, the sushi chef greets you on the inside and you can tell this guy is legit. We ordered salmon nigiri (10/10), Philly roll (8/10) and the Spicy Crunchy roll (8/10). The salmon was definitely the best sushi salmon I have had, very rich, sweet and not too fishy or slimy. The gyoza wasn't great. Visiting family in town and they brought us to their favorite sushi restaurant! I can see why. Food was delicious and service was quick and friendly! I got a small hot sake which was absolutely delightful, especially on a chilly evening. My meal was the Vegetarian roll combo with one cucumber, one avocado and one veggie combo. Wow! I think I found my new favorite sushi spot after living in Denver for 15 years - it's seriously Denver's best kept sushi restaurant secret because it's not a place you notice while driving down the road ever. Shout out to those who discovered this before me which prompted the visit in the first place I trust my fellow Yelpers so when searching "sushi" near me, this hidden gem magically appeared so I decided to give them a shot for a girls night out. I must have driven by this place a million times and never noticed it tucked away behind King Soopers so they must thrive by word of mouth! I was a little late meeting my friends but they were in good hands with Jimmy (the best server ever) who recommended a combo of various rolls so we could taste the best of the best. I still don't know how we were able to get such fresh sushi when living in the Rocky Mountains but it was amazing! I would recommend going with an appetite and being adventurous asking them for a recommendation like we did! Good stuff! Beautiful, delicious sushi! Osaka Sushi is a huge winner in the sushi department for having an amazing selection of rolls, reasonable prices, beautiful presentation, and awesome desserts! Had the opportunity to finally check out Osaka Sushi after a friend of mine raved so much about it. I may be weird, but I actually love fruit in or on top of my sushi so whenever I'm at a new sushi place I scan the menu for a) rolls with any fruit like mango, strawberry, or kiwi, b) spicy rolls with spicy salmon or tuna, and then c) tempura rolls. Osaka Sushi has a great selection and some very unique rolls as well. I ordered the tropicana roll and ichiban roll which satisfied my fruity and spicy sushi cravings, respectively. The tropicana roll is one of their newer rolls and includes shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, kiwi, kiwi sauce, tempura flakes, and red tobiko. The ichiban roll is shrimp tempura & crab meat topped with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, and sweet eel sauce. My friends ordered the avalanche roll, oh baby roll, and two others that I don't remember the name of. The avalanche has baked salmon, crab, shrimp tempura. Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved the ichiban, tropicana, and avalanches rolls! The two other rolls I tried were also great. Despite being fairly full, of course we had to try dessert. I ordered the berry paradise cheesecake, while our friends had the tempura ice cream and creme brulee. All of the desserts were beautifully presented, with beautiful plate art. The sushi you provide is ok to my standards though I would love to LOVE your Volcano Roll... Well, its a Tuesday, so that is why we made a reservation on a TUESDAY and on this faithful Tuesday June 10 2008, Osaka Sushi was indeed shorthanded. From what we got to know after the "whole ordeal" ~ please do read if you want and have the time at the bottom of this review... 1. One of the sushi chefs was on leave. 2. One of the cooks was also on leave. Left 3 waitstaffs handling everyone on this Faithful Tuesday Night. Our waitstaff on that evening was Mike. Perhaps he was new or perhaps he just had a bad hair day. You see, the frustration came to a boil, when all our group were seated @ the Patio. We were there @ 19:00hrs aka 07:00 PM. At most everyone in the group who has RSVP-ed for the "feasting" came @ 19:15hrs aka 07:15 PM by the latest. By then only some of us were given the menu. I requested 11 other menus for everyone in the group yet they did not came as requested. Only by about 19:30hrs aka 07:30 PM our order were given to the waitstaff, since most of the time our waitstaff were missing in action. The first order served to our table ONLY CAME @ 20:30hrs aka 08:30 PM. Does it means it takes the CHEF or the COOK to come out with our appetizers and even some drinks or wine 1 hour of waiting time??... Osaka Sushi, by these time, everyone felt our time were wasted coz only like 4 of us in the group got their MAIN ENTREES completed @ 21:00hrs aka 09:00 PM while the rest of us of 8 were served only with (drinks) of water, wine and hot tea or just appetizers... :( ONLY after my fren approach the MANAGER of Osaka Sushi, he apologized due to the HORRENDOUS SERVICE profusely to her. Why not with the whole group????? We want to have a good time yet with this service and execuses you gave us (see the above explanations about the staffs/chef/cooks) we left with no choice but to endure the service as an act of kindness. We do not want to create any "madness" but all the food were out ONLY by 22:15hrs aka 10:15 PM. Why is this happening to us????? We are good customers but yet we were treated as if no one cared??? It's doesn't look like much and even when I arrived I was like "are we at the right place"? Yes we were at the right place for the quality of the food and the price! I got the Vegetarian Roll dinner which comes with 1 cucumber 1 avocado and 1 veggie. This meal is wonderful because you get a lot of rolls for $13 and change. I loved it and I will definitely return coming back! Due to Covid-19, instead of going out, our team decided to order sushi takeout from Osaka enough for 4 people to celebrate. Unfortunately we had a very different experience than most of the other reviewers. Came in at 8:15 on a Tuesday for dinner. I don't know if it was just because it was late or if the fish was old but I would be hard pressed to think of the time I've had sushi that bad. We ordered a variety of sushi (2 mackerel, 2 salmon, 2 tuna, 2 smoked salmon, 1 salmon roe, 2 unagi) and a several rolls (tuna with scallion, tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, Alaska, calamari tempura, shrimp tempura. The tempura rolls and the spicy salmon were good, the rest was pretty bad. Price came out to be $150 pre tip. Would certainly recommend driving 2 miles south to Mika Sushi 3. read more

These people are rude, obnoxious, inconsiderate and they HATE all animals. The staff needs classes in Hospitality 101. We were visiting from out of town with our service dog. We called ahead of time to make sure they accept service animals. They said "Yes" without hesitation. We walked a mile with our dog since we did not have a car being tourists. When we reached the restaurant, the staff member rudely stopped us at the door and asked us to show his papers. This is illegal BTW. But he did not care. We pulled his documents on the phone and guess what - the staff member even refused to look at it. He insisted on seeing a paper copy. He continued to humiliate us for a good 10 minutes in front of customers and staff. The manager looked at this situation and never intervened. Obviously we left hungry. Remember - we had called ahead and they had said yes!!! If you love animals, avoid this place. read more

My take it, or eat in "go to" for sushi when I'm in denver. Best unagi and spicy tuna rolls. Friendly, and great parking.

Osaka Sushi has everything in one menu: Bento Boxes, Meat & Veggie Bowls, Hot Dishes, Sushi Chef Specials, and all you can eat, but at lunch only on certain days! So be sure to ask. The Yakki Nikku was cooked perfectly, and it made a great starter. It comes with a side of fresh veggies and limes. Basically, short ribs with sautéed veggies!! I love Shrimp and crunchy bites, so the Crispy Shrimp with mild sauce is a good appetizer that I went with. Their sushi, I think, was very impressive. Some days I'll feel so-so whenever I eat sushi, but Osaka really killed it. It's a very romantic spot with candles and roses. A full bar with Ozeke Sake at the tips of your tongue. They had a special if you complete a very, very, very spicy roll, they'll reward you with a bottle of Sake! Cha-Ching! The Rolls: The Dragon Roll has always been a mere favorite of mine, and I enjoy the way it is topped off with the basic avocado and it goes well with ginger. Get this if you're a fan of crab meat and cucumber. (& Unagi and Masago, which is my total fave) Ichiban Roll comes with spicy tuna, Masago, Spicy mayo and sweet eel sauce. I think this one we won't consider getting again. It wasn't balanced. The best roll is the Avalanche Roll! It's stuffed with hot Tempura and crab meat. It's very saucy and creamy, if you're into a MouthGasm adventure. It has Tobiko and Unagi with White Sauce and baked salmon. The dessert is the best here: Seriously, the whole dessert menu is a castle of fun. I fell in love with the Tempura Icecream at Katsu Sushi, but Osaka has eye-popping selections. I mean. Everything. Is. Eye. Popping. We got the Berry Paradise, which at first I wasn't rooting for, but thanks to Kay, our very beautiful server, convinced us that it was amazing and it really worked. We JUST finished having dinner here! Our group of six people had so much fun at this restaurant! We loved the service from our waitress and had live entertainment courtesy of Alex H. who bravely undertook the Nuclear Roll Challenge. As a reward for him finishing his $8.95 Nuclear Roll, he got a free bottle of cold sake on the house! That was worth the trip alone. Oh, he's alright now but he may not be tomorrow morning! =D Food-wise, it was standard sushi. I had their Ichiban Roll and a Spicy Salmon Roll. At about $20 total for both, it was a bit steep for the sizes. The rolls were not that large, actually quite small. I was nowhere near satisfied with the portion. I might want to snack in a few hours after this dinner, my rolls were that small. On the bright side, because we had come on a Wednesday between 4:30pm and 6:30pm, the hot sakes were 2 for the price of 1 during happy hour. Fantastic place to get sushi and interestingly enough Osaka has two very vibes with lunch and dinner! Lunch: This is the most recent experience of mine. I walked in at 11:15am since they have lunch specials that run seven days a week from 11a-3pm. I thought it would be empty but there were already a few tables sat and even so, it was pretty tame and quiet. I sat at the sushi bar since the sushi chefs looked lonely and was promptly greeted. From beginning to finish the experience was perfect. I got the sashimi lunch combo which came with soup, salad, two pieces of a sushi rolls, six pieces of sashimi and about five or six pieces of tempura shrimp and veggies. OMG, it was like food-gasm city. Everything was delicious and the salmon sashimi practically melted in my mouth. It was so much food for $12, you really can't beat a deal like that for all that food plus the quality of the food. I was chatting with the sushi chef and he said not to spend the money on the AYCE lunch special, you definitely get more bang for your buck ordering the lunch specials or various rolls. Dinner: Well, this was about two and a half years ago but it was a completely different experience atmosphere wise. It was like a party! We didn't have to wait for long but it was a full house on a Friday night. We stuck with mostly rolls that night and did family style with some friends but the thing I remember the most was there being free sake bomb shots for all throughout the restaurant.
