What an excellent evening! Food was awesome, atmosphere was superb! I'd be there every week if we lived closer. Black Stone Grill was amazing, both steak & chicken.

Wholly disappointed by this place unfortunately. We came here on a friend's recommendation for our anniversary. To be fair, we did not do the omakase, but ordered from the regular menu. Ambience and waiter were fine but all of our rolls were just...ok. Not bad or fishy or any true issues, we both agreed we'd definitely had much better sushi at several other places around Denver and we left feeling like we missed out. The presentation was nice and the waiter was attentive but I definitely have no plans to go back.

Overall, we had a nice experience at Hana Matsuri Sushi! The ambiance is modern, sleek, and clean with Asian influence. We made a reservation for a Friday night and were seated promptly. The sushi was overall good, but not the best I have had in the Denver area. A little pricier than some of the "mom and pop" sushi places, but I think you are paying for the ambiance and great service. Our waitress was wonderful and even gave us a free birthday dessert. Our favorite roll was actually one of the cheaper rolls-The Philly Roll! We also liked the mango roll.

Just a New Year reminder that Hana Matsuri has one of the best sushi HH in town. Love the miso eggplant (a do not miss item) and their drink HH runs all week (including weekends). I highly recommend this lovely sushi bar!

What a great restaurant! The decor is cute and the service very friendly and gentle. I enjoyed the miso eggplant immensely - the best eggplant to grace my mouth. I also tried a couple items from the fresh nigiri menu. Per the waiter they get a new box every day or two from Japan, and they don't know what fish is in it until they open it. Nice to get fresh fish from a landlocked state. Definitely recommend trying this place!

Hana Matsuri is the brain child of Land of Sushi in Southglenn (Centennial). I know the flavors tasted familiar. One lesson learned is not to order any of the udon dishes. While some may appreciate the flavors it is not a classic Japanese bonito-type flavor. On the flip side, sushi is their mainstay and it stays true to the art via flavor, preserving the fish and presentation. Their red snapper nigiri is still world class and has quickly become my 2nd favorite place in Colorado. They have taken the receipt of Land of Sushi and elevated everything. The restaurant is clean and well thought out. The sushi chefs are busy behind the counter. The waitstaff hustles like you would not believe. We had excellent service for an early dinner yet were treated as though we were the only table there. Great place, ample parking and certainly a good time to be had by all!

While the service was quick, we were not as impressed. We ordered the ceviche for appetizer and to our surprised for $16, it came in a martini glass. It was interesting to share among 3 people and difficult to pick since it all sat at the narrow bottom of the glass. For the hamachi, it was delicious. We were able to pick off and eat. The sashimi platter is the 2nd best of what we ordered. Although the sampler was drenched in a fruity and citrus sauce, we were surprised by the presentation. It was rather tricky to determine the different types of the sampler as it all just melted together under the same overpowering sauce. The fatty toro sampler didn't exactly blow us since it didn't give us the feeling of it melting in our mouths, but the presentation was amazing. The black truffle hand roll was not the crunch we wanted. The seaweed was soggy which it's enjoyed best when it's served right when it's made. Alas, the hot stone with duck was overpowered with saltiness. I love ordering duck and enjoy it eaten in different ways, but this was rather salty to my liking. The 2 sauces we got didn't make it taste any better. However, I will say I loved the grilled vegetables. Can't go wrong with that! We got a total of 7 items with 1 order of house hot sake and 1 order of sunomono salad for a total of $192 with tax included which is ~$64/person between us 3 before tip.

I love it here! This place has great sushi and the prices are unmatched. Plus they have drink specials all the time, score for the sake drinker in me! They have good service and the space is spacious and comfortable. I will be back many times!

Delicious! Nothing else to say. Their happy hour has an array of options. From drinks to sushi rolls-yum. So worth it! The only catch is that happy hour is only 1 hour from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. However, it was worth arriving during that time. Also, the place is very cozy, luxurious, and calm. The service fast and friendly. I think my husband and I found our go-to sushi restaurant!

A meal that I can only describe as a JOURNEY! "Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world!" - if you got that....we can hang. If you're on a quest for the best omakase in Denver, seriously look no further...Hana Matsuri isn't just a meal, it's a journey. The omakase experience here is like taking a fisherman's boat up the eastern coast of Japan with Chef Duy, where each piece is like stopping at new dock to taste the local artistry. From the moment you walk in, you're in good hands. The servers, managers, and even the bartender aren't just staff, they're your guides, making sure you feel warm and at home. If you're adventurous and Michael is around, have him make one of his amazing crafted cocktails, off-menu. Cocktail Omakase?! The sushi chefs? Straight up masterminds. To quote my favorite artist, Taylor Swift, "What if I told you I'm a mastermind? And now you're mine It was all by design Cause I'm a mastermind" Curating each piece like it's the star of the show. You ever have a piece of sushi and immediately put your hand to your mouth to cover the orgasmic experience you are having while trying to moan,"oh.. my...god..."? Let's just say I over used the OMG the entire meal because it culminated in the best umami kind of way. One item that's not on omakase but you need to try if you're there for a regular meal is the the black rock cooking - definitely an Instagrammable moment with your friends to be cooking food on a steaming hot rock. If sushi is poetry, Hana Matsuri writes a masterpiece every night. So, in their honor, I've written a haiku for the journey I was taken on: Omakase tale, Sushi whispers on each plate, Cocktails sing the night. Did you like that? Put on your life jacket because this is one trip you don't want to miss! Thank you for an incredible time, Chef Adam & Duy, Michael and Ella!!

This is our Sushi place to go to. We celebrate our birthdays here as well as coming in for our favorite sushi and yuzu margaritas. They have very high quality fresh fish and shellfish. Our favorite items on the menu are black truffle toro hand rolls, hotate sushi, spicy tuna hand rolls, ama ebi. Every item on their menu is well curated and flavorful. Service is always good and staff are friendly!

Happy hour had great selections! Special Nigiris were amazing. Love sushi restaurants that have a huge selection of uncommon fish like this place. This is a true sushi restaurant. The foie gras and truffle nigiri was my absolute fav! Service was good, slow at some point once they got busy but it was decent Bread pudding dessert was great Everything was so tasty, minus the overcooked edamame

The space is beautiful and a lot of natural light. There is plenty of parking in the area as well. Met a friend for a late lunch and they have a great Lunch Happy Hour. We ordered from the lunch menu and started with the yellowtail jalapeño and it wasn't spicy at all, but light and delicious. The Maki Combo (comes with soup) was a good value and the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were both flavorful. It was a good value for the price and will suggest to meet here again.

Smaller, well loved mom and pop restaurant that you can tell is a community favorite. This is a dying genre of Japanese restaurant we're seeing in SoCal (at least) with the rampant gentrification and rising rent, so this was a nice place to stop by. However, with that in mind, it's not the biggest restaurant, so definitely call in advance to put in a reservation if you have a bigger party, like ours. I want to add, to my amusement, that they have Shohei Ohtani themed dish menus here. The Japanese love him, no matter where they're at or from (as an LA adjacent native, this was pretty funny). For our visit, I got: 1) Negitoro Don: -It's a minced fatty raw tuna mixed with green onion on rice. -I've had this before at a fancy omakase and after that I've fallen in love with negitoro. Love the fatty, rich tuna with the crisp bite of the green onion and slight crunch of the nori bits they have on top too. -Delicious fresh fish and tasty, comforting rice dish. 2) J.F.C. - Japanese Fried Chicken: -We got 2 orders of this so our party can heartily enjoy. Goes great with the sauce they provided. Can't go wrong with crispiness of the breading and skin. Chicken was moist too. Good stuff. I got to try some of my friend's dishes too and all were perfectly seasoned and also were in generous portion sizes. Solid Japanese comfort food.

I recently went to Kiki's with a friend of mine I got the soba-buckwheat noodle with the dipping sauce and tempura shrimp and veggies. My friend got the mackerel and some rice. What can I say? Kiki's never disappoints. I also ordered a green tea and they gave me a coffee mug full of green tea. I was not prepared for that and ended up staying awake most of the night because I was so caffeinated. I also love the yakisoba. The Ramen is fire. the Takoyaki is delicious The restaurant is clean. The service is very good. They close early so you need to put in your order before 8:30 p.m. They don't seat past 8:30 p.m. It looks like a lot of mom and pop Japanese restaurants that you would find in Japan. No I have not gone to Japan, but I watch a lot of videos about Japan due to being obsessed with the culture and the country.

Considering the only other US location is in California, I was surprised and knew this would be my opportunity to try it! The aesthetic is modern & elevated with Japanese wooden features. I got 3 classic dishes which was just the right amount of food. I honestly recommend coming with a group to try more items since you know everything will be delicious. The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. All in all, so grateful I got to try what many call an institution and will certainly try more of chef Nobu's restaurants.

Some of courses were delicious and some were mediocre. We spent almost $700 for a party of four. The situation that needs the most improvement was the pace of the meal. The courses were separated by a 20-30-minute wait time. Considering that the courses were very small and contained 5-6 pieces for a party of four... that equates to a little more than a small bite every 20-30 minutes. The dinner took 2.5 hours to develop, and we were honestly still hungry by the end. The waiter started asking us if were "still hungry" at about the fifth courses. By the end, we felt awkward in asking for more. The wagyu beef was particularly disappointing as the beef was somewhat chewy, lacking taste and small. Waiters seemed to be near their capacity of workload. Didn't really take the time to serve, walk you thru the menus, keep the service moving or even gauge your level of satisfaction. We ordered dessert to celebrate the birthday. Apart from a small chocolate plaque on the dessert that said, "happy birthday", there was no attempt to celebrate the occasion as other less exclusive restaurants do... no "happy birthday" wish, no courtesy dessert... nothing special. The best part of this meal was by far, the young couple that accompanied us. Friendly advice: if you want to impress a client with something the feels exclusive... this may be the place. If you are looking for amazing food, being pampered and feeling your money was "well spent", try another place. I don't plan to visit this restaurant soon.
