Food and service were both great! Prices are reasonable. Interior is outdated. Casual place. Looking forward to trying other menu items!

Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll and assorted nigiri sushi (sold a la carte)

Some of the best tasting and freshest sushi I have had in a while. And their katsu curry is also outstanding. Plus very friendly, kind service. Highly recommend!

Really nice hidden gem with good lunch specials and delicious udon. We got the shrimp tempura udon and the Philadelphia roll, salmon crunch, and 007 roll.

They are open until 9 PM tonight. The restaurant is oddly laid out. Front area is divided by the sushi bar. The front area is blocked off from anyone sitting by the bar. Ordered two green house salads, lobster rolls, spicy california, futomaki, 2 Philly roll with crab salad instead of shrimp and a bamboo roll to go. They don't have any sriracha sauce at all, odd. Only could get up charge of spicy Mayo. Total was $52.47, not so cheap, hope it's good. I don't eat sushi without Sriracha, then everything would be bland and boring. No I have to go find a place where I can find some Sriracha, a bit of an inconvenience. The Philly roll was my favorite with the replaced crab salad and green onion. The rest of the rolls were just OK. The Futomaki was too fishy and they were only five pieces. The fake lobster roll was also not my thing. It also had roe in the mix with the fake lobster too. The California roll was so-so. The bamboo wasn't special and too slimy for my liking. The salads were blah. The meal as a whole was underwhelming. The rules were all pretty small for what you get you get here, definitely overpriced.

    Shoyu ramen good!

Great price. Great food. Authentic sushi and Japanese food. Ramen and katsu curry are great. I ate ramen this time. Very good!

Amazing. Some of the most authentic Japanese food in town. And this is coming from someone who just came back from Japan . Highly recommend checking out this place. The sushi is fresh. And they even have items like fatty tuna.

Enjoyed eating in a restaurant after such a long hiatus away bc of covid. Sushi Den was well prepared with precautions and we felt very comfortable dining there. The service was excellent. The ambience just so so. The fish quality very good. It's not fancy or elaborate in any way but if you want a relatively affordable sushi/sashimi choice, this fits the description. It's probably a 3.5 star overall. But I'll round up bc of the friendly staff and quick, attentive service. And I would come here again.

Some of the best Gyoza I've ever had, the sauce was amazing!

The menu is strong but limited, which I kind of like- limits decision fatigue, especially after a long day. I ordered the nigiri combo, for the cause. Nigiri is something I've only really gotten into this year, so I'm not an expert, but I know what I like and what I don't. Soft, sticky rice that feels fresh and adhesive but not clumpy, fresh smelling and looking fish. The California roll was a California roll. The nigiri was great however. The shrimp in particular was light and almost creamy tasting? I know that sounds odd but I mean it in a good way. The rest of the fish was good. I even tried eel (this is big for me) for the cause! It was rich and fatty, but not in an unpleasant way as I feared. It was pleasantly sauced, so I was able to try it sans soy sauce and was pleased! I *really* liked the soy sauce here, although they don't give you very much. They also are a bit stingy with the ginger. This was my first time trying tamago, which is a delicately sweetened egg roll stuffed with rice. If you're not used to it, you have to get over the look and just go for it! It's yummy! The restroom was clean but smelled faintly of cigarettes. To be honest... I didn't mind that. It kind of fit with the vibe and gave the restaurant a "real" "edgy" feel, although some people may not appreciate it. The interior is kind of messy and unkempt, but if you keep your eyes on the prize- the food- you'll leave happy!

Having spent time exploring Japan and eating plenty of sushi there, this is probably the closest I've come in Michigan to recreating that experience. The focus is on traditional and straightforward: quality fish, careful preparation, and letting the ingredients speak for themselves rather than covering everything in sauces and toppings. The sushi and sashimi have been consistently excellent across my visits, and I especially appreciate that the menu goes well beyond the typical American sushi restaurant. There are plenty of traditional Japanese dishes and chef's-choice options, so it's a place where I'm always tempted to try something different. The atmosphere adds to the experience too. It has this intimate, neighborhood Japanese restaurant vibe that reminds me so much of stumbling upon a sushi spot in Kyoto. If you love traditional Japanese food and care more about quality and authenticity than elaborate specialty rolls, Sharaku is absolutely worth the trip. One of the best Japanese dining experiences I've found in Michigan, and a place I'll continue coming back to.

I'd probably go lower, if not for the friendly service. came here with my friend for his bday…read moredinner. Not sure how he became aware of this place, but here we were. AMBIANCE - the place seemed very cozy, with booths, a handful of tables and seating at the sushi bar. This place was JUMPING on a Tuesday. I'm actually glad I made reservations. Bunch of old Asian dudes working behind the sushi counter - place seemed legit. SERVICE - our server was very attentive and was helpful with recommendations. He was very patient as we had MANY questions about the menu, and what we should be getting. MENU - this place had a pretty extensive menu. The first page of the menu had their daily specials which seemed to be a pretty deep selection by itself. They had many of your standard Japanese fare, though their appetizer list seemed to be deeper than most. They also had a fair number of sushi combos, however, according to our server, those are all chef's choice, and said they tended to be more basic type rolls/fish. One thing that was unfortunate was that the sushi rolls did not have a description of what was included in them, so we had to get clarification on a few of the rolls we were interested in. FOOD - we decided to get a smattering of items. we started with the deep fried oysters, chicken karage, and some along with some fried scallops they had on special. The oysters were good, while the karage and scallops were just "ok." Good, but nothing to write home about. We also ordered a couple of rolls - we did the spider rolls (soft shell crab), a tempura shrimp roll, dragon roll, and two eel nigiri. The eel nigiri were excellent. The rolls while good.... left me wanting a bit. From the other reviews that I read, this place is good on quality, and less on the quality, and this was on full display with the rolls. Besides the nigiri, the rolls seemed light, especially our spider roll which was only 4 pieces (I dont think I've ever seen that before). Even the dragon roll seemed small. We probably could have just gotten more nigiri in lieu of dragon roll. OVERALL - while the food was good, for the price you pay, it does not seem worth it. Maybe if we had gotten more nigiri or chirashi, we could have appreciated it more, but this place was too far and too expensive for what it was. Maybe the lunch specials make it worth coming here, but this would not be anywhere on my list of places to go for sushi in the metro Detroit area. Celebrity Rating - Salt Bae

We went right at 5pm when it opened and all of us felt their dishes were pretty bland. My sister who doesn't like spicy or super flavorful foods liked her shrimp tempura udon though. Honestly, I was expecting more. I wish I would've loved it but didn't. I got the Tonkotsu with spice (didn't taste spicy at all). My hubby liked his Ton-Ton pork ramen. My friend got the Spicy Champon and it was NOT spicy at all. Not sure I'd recommend as our experience was lacking overall. At least they were great about refilling our waters and lots of free parking.
