This New Year's, my fiancé and I had a pre-wedding party in Miami with a huge group of our friends. We did not make a lot of meal reservations, but we had saved a few options that were great for big group takeout. This was perfect for a new year's eve dinner. I placed a pickup order through DoorDash. This was only 6 minutes walking from our hotel. Not only is this spot super affordable, but the sushi is pretty yummy too. They also had gluten-free options for my celiac friends. Most of us got the salmon california roll al loved it a lot. I enjoyed my nigiri picks from here too. I was able to place a huge pick up order and get it all with no hassle and eat it with our friends at our hotel main balcony. It was fantastic and so easy. The sushi here is yummy and a great price. Service was great, friendly and fast but the quality isn't great. The tuna is brown and salmon also just looks old. Role was very fishy and didn't taste fresh. And for spicy Mayo, it's not the traditional you'd see on with sushi, it's like white sandwich Mayo not the normal orange you normally get with sushi. I placed an order which included the garlic-teriyaki chicken wings. From the first bite I knew something was off. I almost began to doubt my taste buds knowing that Hiro's never steered me wrong. The wings looked so good but the seasoning simply wasn't there. The outside had a tasty garlic and teriyaki coating but the inside was dry... and flavorless! I took another bite to confirm my suspicions. "Eww! No seasoning!" It's almost as if the wings were cooked frozen, and then tossed in the sauce- wait Hiro's, if that what we're doing now??! I have been here probably 50 times in the 2 years I lived on Sobe, I used to go every other weekend. Their seaweed salad is the best I've ever had. I hate places that make it fishy, this place never misses. Chicken katsu roll, miami heat roll, tuna California roll, chicken karaage, chicken katsu don all are phenomal. You can get a ton of food for $25, it's so affordable and good. You can trust me, sushi is my favorite food and I am a snob. Everyone I've taken here comes back, it's that good. Phenomenal prices for Miami Beach. Very low key takeout spot (although they do have some tables for dining in) with rolls, noodle dishes, etc. Rolls are around $5-7 each and noodle dishes are around $8. Portion sizes are generous. I enjoyed the steak udon and the California roll but everything I had was pretty decent. The people working are friendly and they crank out orders pretty quickly. You really can't beat it for a sub-$15 lunch on Miami Beach, especially for reasonably good sushi.
