A relative told me about the Sushi Factory. I decided to visit based on his recommendation. Sushi Factory is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. As soon as I walked in, I was scared. Only 2 customers were in there. The staff were okay. They left us alone most of the night. They almost didn't want to take our order, not that you have to order anything from a conveyor belt restaurant. The sushi seemed like it was sitting there awhile. We didn't want to eat. We finally flagged down the waitress and ordered a couple of ramen and a bowl of udon. The noodles were good for the area. The ramen had a a couple of pieces of chasu in it. The broth was okay. I've gotten food from the Sushi Factory for take out but have never dined in until recently. I loved dining in: guaranteed fresh sushi as you can order rolls to be made in front of you and easy going waitstaff! My favorite roll was the salmon skin roll which was the second cheapest plate. My uncle brought us here saying it's the best sushi he's had in the area. I was not very impressed. Some of the sushi/sashimi was kinda mushy. It's not bad but definitely not the best. Service was great. The space is like a regular sushi place. Has the sushi going around on a belt which I like. You can just grab what you want. There were $2 plates up to $5 plates. We didn't eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on the service. But the sushi was good. Not excellent, but definitely good enough to return. I personally try to get eel when I eat sushi, so that's often what winds up swaying me one way or another. That and the soft-shelled crab, if they have it. This morning I waiting 15 minutes for salmon nigiri and never got it. They weren't busy. Just didn't care.

The servers were friendly, but the food could have been fresher. Additionally, the servers seemed distracted, often on their phones.

Update: 12/12/19 I popped in here again for a couple plates of sushi. I got to say the sushi is fresh, big portions and delicious. I was about to get another place. When a huge cockroach came crawling over near my plates of sushi. I immediately got up and left. Do not think I will be backagai It's been about five years since I've been to this place. I can tell it has gone through numerous management changes over the years. I came in for a quick lunch and had three plates of sushi. The waitress was really friendly and got me my drink of water right away. The sushi was actually pretty decent and fresh. I might have to come by here again sometime. When I came in there was only a few people there and then all of a sudden it became pretty busy. So others might like this place too. read more

The food is average, and had a good range of different sushi. They serve the food on a conveyor that runs around the restaurant, and they also take orders off the menu, or certain plates of sushi as fast a possible. The workers get distracted on their phones and are slow to cook. On the conveyor, the food comes on plates with plastic covers over them, and they use stickers (green, yellow, red, pink) to label how old the food is, and some of the food gets pretty old, and they just leave it out. Solid, inexpensive, typical American sushi from a conveyer belt spot. Fish is surprisingly fresh and I'd recommend the seared salmon hand roll..... that's probably my favorite item here. I've also had some of the other regular rolls and they all exceeded my expectations (which were low to begin with because hello, this is Vancouver Washington). I also think this place seasons their rice well and it isn't hard and dry or mushy, so that's a plus too. I've only ever gotten delivery or picked up food but have never dined in, so I can't really speak on the service but the place is a little visibly dirty/greasy in some spots. The real reason this review is so low is because of the yakisoba noodles. I saw a picture on yelp of the noodles here and it looked fire, but omfg what I got was completely different. It was a brick of sickeningly sweet noodles with overcooked shrimp - please see my attached photos...... So basically get inexpensive sushi here and throw those noodles in the damn trash. read more

I rarely give 1 star reviews, but this one deserves it! Had a client in Vancouver and decided to stop by this sushi place for lunch. Sushi was mediocre, nothing special, no special rolls or anything like that. Calamari were cold, dry, and greese. But what striked me the most is they have charged me $2.45 for extra ginger! I have been in many sushi places across the country and I had never been charged for extra ginger! And service is awful too - nobody smiles, nobody asks if I, need anything else. The only redeeming quality of this place is the price but unfortunately the price I'd be willing to pay to eat here again is $0. They had an extensive menu which I can appreciate but we ordered 12 different rolls and each one of them was worse than the last. If you like spicy Mayo they did include a tub... (I'm talking enough to cover the next 16 times you order sushi) for only $2. We tried a couple interesting looking rolls and unfortunately they tasted like dishwater. I literally spit one out because I couldn't finish. The plainer ones were ok but I couldn't even finish an entire roll of anything. TL:DR - Save your money and go to a cleaner restaurant that doesn't overcharge for unused ginger, soy sauce, and wasabi... Nope. No. Never again. When this place was a flat price per plate, we used to come in all the time. Then, I heard about a roach infestation in the building. Yep. That happened. I heard there were new owners, so I gave it another try with a friend last week. Right as we were seated, I watched the sushi chef wipe a bunch of sweat off his face with a towel, throw it onto the kitchen counter where rolls were being prepped, wipe his sweat into his hair, and then not wash his hands. He just slapped on another pair of gloves and went back to making sushi. We decided then to order off the menu, but they just pulled those items off the belt and brought them over. They tasted and looked like they had been sitting out on the belt for a while... This place also seemed dirtier than normal, the counter was super sticky where I sat, my water cup looked dirty, the staff were chatting with each other SO loudly instead of serving their customers, and holy cow...the price. My bill alone was almost $20, and I wasn't even full bc I didn't want to eat sweat covered sushi. I guess they also charge for extra sauce, extra ginger, and extra wasabi if you don't use it all. This is definitely a No- go restaurant! The food was awful. I ordered teriyaki salmon Bento on the way to the Portland airport. When I opened the bento and started to eat broccoli tempura, it smelled sour then I took a look, i immediately spilled it out. It was brownish and rotten. My goodness!! The salmon consisted 5 really thinned layers, it looked like a leftover from someone in their kitchen. I was in a hurry to the airport and didn't see the reviews from others. Made a to go order. Walked in asked to use restroom, the lady at the front seemed hesitant to let me use the restroom until I reassured her that I made an order and had to give the name. The restroom was the nastiest restroom I have seen. Poop on the light switch, some kind of growth in the urinal, pee on the floor, in the stall the toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall, smelled of mold. At this point I was concerned what the condition of the food would be like considering their lake of care for the restroom. I order Cali rolls , which consisted of faux crab sticks, old avocado (brown) , and something smelled off about it. Do not recommend this place just for the cleanliness and food quality alone. I will say the atmosphere wasn't terrible , nice decor and painting on wall. Looks like they had good intentions starting out , but the owners don't seem to care . Hygiene is a concern, you have been warned. And a tip is forced on you when ordering take out. Also the sushi was room temperature, couldn't eat it. Nasty nasty nasty, hopefully I don't get sick. My son felt like having Suchi, and I have been to the Sushi Factory before with my daughter and grandkids. Since I have been going there now for our Suchi we love the great food, and service. Every employee is really sweet, kind, and spot on. I don't even have to give them my order when they see me, they know exactly what I want to order. The ambience is nice, it's not a big restaurant, however, there are booths and counter seats; and the music is great. I love the sound of people talking and enjoying themselves. I come here at least 3times a month and tonight was the first time I experienced racism and left immediately, couldn't sit at an empty booth that I sit in EVERYTIME I've been here because "it was for bigger groups" according to the tall man with glasses, on top of that three groups came in after my partner and I and all three groups were served their food before we did even though we ordered food first. First time we have gone since they changed owners (again). Sushi was okay. I've had worse once, but I've definitely had better "cheap" sushi. Safeway and Fred Meyers sushi is much better quality, and cheaper. Only reason we went here is because the place we planned on going to (the one with the good reviews) was closed, and this place was across the street. Basically, the place is a dive. Service was beyond horrible. They automatically charge a tip to your bill when they basically do nothing, except sit around and talk to each other, after they seat you. If "servers" are not going to go around and ask customers for refills of beverages, at least once, maybe consider putting in a beverage center, so customers can refill their own drinks. Overall, would not recommend and will not be going back. read more

Honestly this is my favorite sushi place in Vancouver to go to. Very reasonable prices and also just very tasty food. Me and my boyfriend usually head hear for a date night or just getting food after work. There simple salmon roles pretty much melt in your mouth and they are always the go to option. There miso soup is also the best in the area. Also you can't go wrong with there chicken or beef teriyaki is a solid choice. I like trying new places so I decided to give this place a try regardless of its mostly negative reviews. I must say that I did not find Sushi Factory to be bad by any means, I just found it to be not as good as the majority of the other conveyer belt sushi places in the Vancouver area. My two favorite rolls were the Vegas roll and the one with shrimp, peanuts and chili sauce on top. The rest of them were just okay at best. I'm not sure if its the quality of the ingredients who how they're prepared, there's just so many things that the other sushi spots in the area do to make their food better. read more
