Stopped in for sushi snack in the middle of the afternoon after Target shopping. We tried Spicy Salmon roll for me and Eggplant roll for my vegan husband. Salmon not so spicy but still fresh and delish. I would order again. And The eggplant was wonderful. What a nice surprise! Price was right. And the two gentlemen employees, were really attentive. My son and I went in today around 7pm for dinner and had a wonderful experience. Santos was our server and was super nice, and my son and I had a nice conversation with him about various things. The food was really good as well. Although we did not order off this part of the menu, This place has an AMAZING selection of VEGETARIAN SUSHI! I was really surprised to see such a nice selection and will bring my vegetarian friends here! We had ordered the Takoyaki Octopus balls for starters, the Dragon Roll, and the King Roll. This time we had the Kirkland roll (super tasty combo with a slight spiciness), Hotate roll (scallops were super fresh, nice combo with the soft shell crab), and the Midtown roll (the yummy trio of salmon, tuna, and hamachi in generous portions). Ok, don't be scared away from this little gem when you first see it from the parking lot. Located in a strip mall next to a Safeway, a casino, and some other ethnic stores, it sort of looks like a brightly lit small convenience store. No ambiance really - no pictures on walls, scuffed up paint, a few tables inside. But... the food! Oh wow! And the service! Amazing! These were the biggest and tightest rolls, with extremely high quality ingredients! The fish was super fresh, beautiful presentation! (Check out the sunflower roll!) and the amount of sushi you get for the price is excellent! Each roll is about $13 but they're STUFFED! The staff is very attentive and friendly, food came out fast. They stopped by to check on us every 10 minutes to refill waters, ask if everything was ok, etc. really great place! Hidden gem! read more

Met up with a friend for dinner for a quick meal on our drive south. The food was just okay. Ambience was meh. I don't recommend dining here if you're looking for a good ambience. They also charge a credit card fee which they don't tell you about. If I had known about this fee, I would've paid with cash. We came Thursday evening around 5:30 and it was completely empty. The entire hour we were here, no one else dined in, though there were some takeout orders. There are 4 pages to the menu, and 3 of them are dedicated to sushi, so it's primarily a sushi spot. I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered a simple salmon avocado roll ($8.95) and two pieces of scallop nigiri ($5.50). I wasn't super impressed with my roll, as the sushi rice was a little too sticky and there was too much of it. At least the nigiri was good, since the scallops tasted very fresh. My friend ordered the chicken yakisoba ($11.95) and said it was good, though they put a LOT of cabbage in the noodles. My other friend ordered the chicken katsu burger and enjoyed that as well. I didn't realize they charged a credit card fee until afterwards, when I looked at the receipt. Alright I'm updating my review. This was the best takeout sushi I've had in a while. I ordered the king roll, and the sweet potato roll - which sounds so simple but it's not. It has avocado and sesame seeds and unagi sauce. I cleared the box. The miso was also greatly improved. Not sure what the little crispy things in it were, but they were amazing I stand corrected! I ordered 30 mins before closing too, and this was fresh and excellent. I didn't go in, as I placed my order through a delivery service. So still can't speak to what this place even looks like, but I would order again after this. read more

I have been exploring sushi places on the east side and tried Kirkland sushi recently. I got Egg rolls, Spicy Tuna Roll, Sunflower Roll, and Rainbow roll. The Egg rolls were good. I enjoyed all the rolls I got, with the Sunflower roll being the best. I loved the amount of salmon in the roll, the salmon was very fresh making each bite great. The combination of salmon, avocado, and shrimp on the Rainbow roll was great. The Spicy tuna roll is what I use to decide if I like a sushi place or not and this Spicy tuna roll was great. I'll have to go back for the Sunflower roll, and to try some of their other rolls. read more

From now on, if anyone asks me for a recommended sushi spot on the Eastside, I'll be pointing them here. Don't miss this tiny storefront... Kirkland Sushi is a gem! Their deliciously fresh sushi and such cordial staff will keep me coming back again and again. Visually, their specialty rolls are stunning and presented perfectly even in a takeout box. While most of their rolls contain some element of raw fish, they offer a good selection of options with cooked ingredients and also a few bentos. Three of us each ordered two types of rolls which they kindly split into individual boxes at our request. I appreciated how neatly they packed everything up and they remained intact all the way home. + Tataki Roll ($12.95): Think of this as a California Roll with extra flair! Filled with crab salad, cucumber and avocado, this one is topped with slices of pepper-crusted tuna, more avocado and a drizzle of ponzu sauce. Between the creamy crab salad, bite from the pepper tuna and subtle tangy ponzu, this roll hit all the notes while tasting healthy and clean. + Shrimp Tempura Roll ($7.95): As one of my go-to rolls at any sushi spot, their rendition is one of the best! At many places, the tempura batter completely overtakes the shrimp, but that was not the case here. These pieces of shrimp were meaty! Avocado, cucumber and a nice coating of tempura crumbs completed the roll with layers of varying textures. My lunch companions ordered the Yuzu Hamachi, Spider Roll, Spicy Tuna and California Roll. They savored every bite. I grabbed a taste of the Spicy Tuna which had the perfect amount of heat and I immediately wished I had one all to myself. Every roll was stuffed with fresh ingredients and the quality truly shined. Service-wise, the staff is so personable and provides terrific customer service. They packed extra cups of ginger and spicy mayo in our bag and made friendly conversation while we waited for our food. From a cleanliness standpoint, they are also doing their part. I caught a peek into the kitchen and the chefs were wearing masks behind the scenes which was a great sign. Tried it yesterday. Service was great but food was too sweet for my taste. However, the serving was plenty & staff were friendly.

TLDR: quality fast sushi. I ordered ToGo. Creamy Scallop: 2 pieces generously topped with hunks of scallops. Creamy and scallopy! Sunflower Roll: one fish filled bite! The roll is a good flavor and texture. The fish in the roll overpowers the avocado and cucumber though. It's almost like having just straight up sashimi, which is a good thing! I do wish the salmon slices were a bit thicker. Philadelphia Roll: one of my favorite and go-to rolls, so I'm a bit of a Philly Roll Snob. The flavors blended nicely and the sesame seeds really gave this roll some flavor rather than just adding to the aesthetics; I was impressed. A nice chunk of salmon in each bite. I do wish the cucumber was a bit fresher to add that satisfying crisp crunch. Avocado and cream cheese made it silky smooth and melt in your mouth. Overall, a nice balanced ratio of rice to toppings. I always appreciate a roll that isn't 75% rice where I have to eat it like Kirby the Nintendo character. Sukiyaki Beef Udon: broth very flavorful but the beef wasn't too satisfying--was paper thin and really just added texture to the soup rather than flavor. Veggie Tempura: nice and crispy. A generous amount (and sized pieces) for the price--I ended up sharing half. Breading wasn't too thick and the veggies inside were cooked perfectly--not too overcooked at all! It definitely isn't the breaded mush that you get at some places. read more

We live very close to this restaurant and therefore this has become our favorite local sushi place. The portions are big so it's a good value. My favorite is the seared scallops, it melts in your mouth. Their rolls are really good and big. Our other favorite is the salmon collar. It's $2.50 for two pieces which is a very good deal and it's sooo good! It used to be $2.00 which was a steal. We usually do takeout and you can order your food online through their website and you get rewards after you spend x amount. read more

For a neighborhood sushi joint, Kirkland Sushi does a fine job. It's currently at soft opening so things, so I am extra forgiving. In short, my recommendation is GO for it. We heard about the soft opening and opted to take advantage of their pay cash to get 25% off deal. Score! They close at 8pm (Friday). We called at 6:50pm to place the order. She warned us it was going to be 45min wait, which I expected. No problem. When we arrived, the food was ready. We paid cash, tipped, and left. When we arrived home, we discovered an error with one of the rolls. I called them up, and they said they'll make it right the next time we go. I'm ok with that. That's what a soft opening is about. In the bag, they gave us a free Yakult drink. We were given sriracha mayo, unagi sauce, and wasabi, but no soy sauce. I don't mind. I have soy sauce at home. I like having the other sauces! Food: We ordered 4 rolls. Honestly, they are all very good and all the fish tasted fresh. 1. Fresh Roll - Wrapped in cucumber, a very refreshing roll 2. Sunflower Roll - Lots of good salmon in this roll. Would love to eat this at the restaurant, assembled to look like a flower. 3. King Roll - We're fans of seared salmon so this one fit the bill. 4. We ordered Oregon Roll, BUT was missing the toppings, so it's a CA roll instead. More boring, but it's still tasty. ^^Day 1 ======================== Day 2 - To take advantage of the last day of 25% discount, we ordered 4 more rolls. A. After coming back two more times, I decided to up the rating to 4 stars. Their non-sushi items are pretty good and worth it in my opinion. We got the spicy chicken, salmon teriyaki and shrimp tempura udon. The spicy chicken is actually a really good deal, you get a generous amount of spicy chicken with rice for $9. The chicken was nicely spiced, tender chicken. The udon was smooth and soft and soup was flavorful. The only critique I have with that is they were a little skimpy on the toppings, you just get one piece of shrimp tempura and that's it. The Salmon bento was surprisingly good. The Salmon was perfectly cooked, moist and very flavorful. We also got california roll and the fresh roll. I think I would stick to what I say about the rolls. their classic rolls are worth getting, but the specialty rolls is nothing unique to get in my opinion for the price read more

I stumbled upon Kirkland Sushi as I was scrolling Yelp. The pictures of the sushi were enticing so we decided to try it out. We have a severe wasabi allergy in our family so eating sushi can be very stressful, even though it is so delicious. Kirkland Sushi and their staff take great care to prepare the wasabi-free sushi carefully and they also add extra to my plate because they know I CAN have it. The restaurant is in a strip center by SnoKing ice skating rink and doesn't look like much from the outside, but their sushi is always delicious and fresh. My favorite is the Tuna Tower!! They also have tamari sauce for those who can't have gluten. Try this place out!!! The price and the delicious sushi are worth a visit!!! Please note: they have a ton of takeout business and your food order can take a bit of time to be prepared if you come at busy meal times, but it does not stop me from coming AND it does not impact their five start rating. read more

You wouldn't know it by looking at it, but Kirkland Sushi is a hidden gem indeed! I was craving sushi...instead of ordering online like we usually do, we decided to go there an eat in. Unfortunately when we arrived (about 1.5 hours from closing), they told us they were no longer serving for eat-in (though there were people already dining in). A bit of a bummer, and while this was normally make leave right away, I was hungry so we decided to order and wait. It took about 20+ mins to get our food as well...but thankfully it was worth it. In addition to being pretty reasonably priced, the quality of the sushi was great, decent portions, a first for me - fried eggplant role! So simple, but packs some great flavor and texture. So 4 stars for the food. I would go back to try their other roles, have some good sushi, and support local! Probably sticking with ordering in advance and take out though. read more

We went here because the reviews were really good but our experience wasn't great. The service was really good. The sushi however was questionable. The tuna had a strong smell, the crab salad in my roll had a bad chemical or hand sanitizer taste which made me unable to eat the roll. The seared salmon was not really seared either and had just regular mayo on top of it which was weird. Overall, we were too nervous to eat raw fish from here and had to leave. The bathroom was also disgusting and instead of replacing the toilet paper someone just put a new roll on top of the toilet paper roller lol. read more

After having really excellent sushi here a couple of times, I had some of the WORST sushi I have ever had from there tonight. Fish was definitely not fresh -- smelled fishy as soon we opened the container. Tuna was water-logged, almost like a sponge. Salmon was slimy and icky. And it looked like this stuff had been cut by someone's drunk, blind grandmother. Truly, this fish was hacked to bits, all different sizes - and in some places, skin hadn't been removed. I saw a lot of positive reviews for this new Kirkland restaurant. I was pleased! We ordered the spicy chicken, my husband said it was very tasty and came with a good helping of rice. We also ordered the baked mussels they were so yummy! We ordered two rolls as well, King Roll and Rainbow Roll both were well made and tasted very good. I definitely ordered too much, but it was all delicious. I ordered early afternoon on a Sunday and it was ready promptly about 15 minutes after ordering. The two women working the front were kind and friendly. I enjoyed a short conversation with them. I will definitely order again. They are new and I'm sure opening during a pandemic has had its struggles but they're serving quality, delicious food! It was a welcomed break from my usual place! They have an assortment of specialty rolls, typical sushi rolls, teriyaki, yakisoba, and sukiyaki udon. We opted for our usual spider roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon roll. Online they have a ton of appetizer options listed so we went for the takoyaki. Sesame balls are also listed but not available for now, my guess is a limited menu during the soft open; I recommending calling ahead and seeing what they have. You can order by phone and pick up, order there and wait, or order for delivery. If you if you pick up/order in shop it's cash only. Food isn't quite memorable, but I feel like that's expected in a soft open;they're establishing their menu and business model. It is a tiny little hole in the wall and nothing fancy to look at but don't let that fool you. This place is absolute dynamite!! Last night my sister and I were craving sushi and came across Kirkland Sushi on Yelp since we were in the area. We ordered a couple rolls for dine in. They have a huge assortment of specialty rolls that all sounded really good, but we ended up picking the Kirkland Roll and the Dynamite Roll. The total for the two rolls came out to around $29, so a little on the pricey side. The restaurant is very small and reminds me of the interior of a lot of teriyaki restaurants. I noticed that the restaurant was very overwhelmed with takeout and delivery orders. It seemed like there were a lot of issues going on with delivery (delivery driver arrived 30 minutes early but ended up waiting almost 2 hours for order to be completed, delivery orders being cancelled after being made, lots of people waiting around). That obviously didn't affect us much eating there at the restaurant, but it definitely made the ambience more of a high stress environment because the delivery driver was angry, the phone was ringing, and several people were standing around waiting for orders. I felt so bad for the guy working at the counter because he was clearly overwhelmed, but he was so nice and apologized several times for the wait times. I appreciated his effort to get us water, new chopsticks, and accommodate us eating at the restaurant while also trying to manage the delivery and takeout orders. As for the food, I really loved the dynamite roll. The small scallops on top were great and the sauces were fantastic on top. The dynamite roll also has a nice kick with the hot sauce on top. The Kirkland roll wasn't as good. The seared salmon on top tasted a bit more fishy than I like. Also, I think that roll could've used a little more sauce because it has the tempura shrimp inside, which makes it a little more dry. Overall, I think this place is pretty solid. Obviously, with the small space they seem to be having trouble accommodating the high volume of takeout, delivery, and in-person orders in a timely manner, so just be aware of that if you are in any sort of rush. The service was great though and I'll add this spot to my list of good sushi places. read more

We wanted a step up from supermarket sushi, and my usual go-to was closed (Monday). A quick search, and scan of our local fb group gave us a selection. Less reviews here, but a definite advantage of proximity. We were impressed with the appearance and size of the specialty rolls we chose, and the nigiri were generous. Surprisingly, and probably an indication of inexperience, our toro (which are a bit more expensive than the "regular"), were gristly. All 4 pieces. The unagi sauce was a bit bland as well. Otherwise, everything was quite tasty, and generally we did enjoy the meal. I was a little surprised at the cost. Those specialty rolls were not inexpensive. Maybe I'm out of touch, but a somewhat standard size meal for 3, from a modest and primarily takeout place seemed high. I expect a similar cost from a "sit-down" sushi restaurant, but this struck me. I think my rating is really 3 1/2 stars, but not 4. We'll probably stick to our favorite next time, although I wouldn't avoid Kirkland Sushi if the need strikes on a Monday again! read more
