In summary, Sushi Fever served up good sushi and entrees pleasantly and quickly. Expect to wait at peak times, although our wait was shorter than the estimate. We arrived with a party of 6 at about 6 PM on a Friday night, so it really wasn't surprising that the quoted wait was 45 minutes. We were handed a buzzer, to tell us when our table was ready. I would say that the actual wait time was 20 to 25 minutes, so that was pleasantly surprising. When you enter past the small host station you find a row of tables on the left, a row of tables in the center and a set of chairs up against a sushi bar on the right. So the size of the place isn't very big. The lighting is pleasant. The table was set with small serving bowls, wasabi, ginger, and a pitcher of soy sauce. Our server was cheerful and helpful. Wee ordered entrees of bulgogi, a mango salmon served with rice and asparagus, and the spiced scallop and spider rolls. Two of us were sushi eaters and we shared. Both rolls were very tasty. My salmon was excellent and my wife shared a bite of her bulgogi and I enjoyed it, too. Everything came with a small bowl of miso soup. I don't visit sushi restaurants often and I'm never sure how much to offer. We skipped the appetizers, although there were some good-looking offerings. I'd say the rolls were each a nice appetizer for a single person, and the entrees are a good light size. A roll and an entree was a fine meal. Add an appetizer and a dessert and it would be too much. The spicy garlic edamame was delicious but the sauce turned into soup at the end and you'll need your water refilled often! Love the intimate atmosphere and friendly waitstaff. We had Mr. Lee's sashimi platter and it was AMAZING! Everything tasted so delicious and fresh. The presentation was on point and I honestly think this place is a hidden gem in Cedar Park. The specialty rolls are large sized rolls and the fish quality is high especially for this land locked area of Texas. Owner is always there working hard and smiling. I told the bf to come here since they had great reviews and this did not disappoint! Apps: 1/3 of their menu has tempura batter on it and I can see why: they do tempura REALLY well. We got the fried tofu and calamari. My boyfriend lived a few years in Japan and he's picky about tempura, but he finished all of his fried dishes here. The ceviche was a 4 star item (paled in comparison) and everything else we got for apps was a solid 5 stars. Sushi rolls: the rolls were got were all very good. The apple roll is unique in that it's wrapped with sliced apples instead of rice (most carbless rolls are wrapped in soy paper or cucumber). The rolly rice impressed my bf and I thought it was pretty good too (albeit heavy). Catepillar roll was fresh and well-rolled. Dessert: we did not have room but once again, almost all of the dessert menu is battered and fried. TO THE OWNER: having more non-fried dessert would be better. Service: 5 stars. I wouldn't waste my money to go here. The food quality is not good from the sushi to the chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki meat tasted like packaged meat that had fake grill marks and then paired with vegetables that were from a frozen bag, boiled, and then dumped in the bowl. The seafood fried rice lacked actual seafood and included very small pieces of from the tail of shrimp. You are better off getting HEB sushi for the price and peace of mind. The waiter did not once ask how our meal was and refused to acknowledge the unfinished food. Came back a few days later with friends and was wowed again. The spring roll appetizer was delicious. Highly recommend if you love mango and love crab meat. We tried the Rolly Rice - it reminded me of a deconstructed crab and salmon roll or a sushi bake. It was tasty and I'd get it again. We made it to happy hour which was awesome, garlic edamame was so good, gave that a 10, was fresh and hot, gyoza was a mixture with pork and it had flavor in every bite, calamari was 9, had good texture not too chewy and good spices. Now the sushi roll the first one we had was really good flavor, deep fried but crunchy and good. The last two the seaweed was tough to bite into really chewy which to my surprise because I have been to many sushi restaurants in the past, I gave both rolls a 5, the deep fried roll 8.5. My go to sushi place. I love the classic rolls and have not been disappointed by the special ones. However going during their "happy hour/ lunch time special" is not the best. I always get the California roll and it's amazing. Except for at lunch time. It seems like they pre make a bunch of their most popular rolls to have ready but there a lot smaller and the seaweed is always really chewy. However you can ask to pay full price and skip the special and they'll make it fresh. I should note that I'm just assuming baste of my experiences that lunch special rolls are pre made. The service was perfect, we ordered a soft shell crab sushi roll, a crispy salmon skin hand roll, and the spicy tuna since I was limited with vegetables on this day. We also ordered the beef bbq short ribs which was ok, a bit chewy for me. The rolls were ok, not the best I've had, but good. The place was moderately busy for the capacity allowance. The miso soup was tasty and loved the spicy ponzu dipping size which was probably the best dipping sauce there. But didn't realize that the small ramekin would cost $3.00, what's in it? I feel that wait staff should have informed us that it was an additional cost. But all in all, it was worth trying. If you're hangry for sushi, this would be a go to.
