    Dynamite roll
    Alex K.

Hey. Yeah, you. Did you know that sushi isn't all raw or served cold. They actually have baked sushi. But there's a catch. The best baked sushi isn't the one that's been sitting there on the conveyor belt for 30 or more minutes. It's the one you eat fresh out of the oven. Yeah, you can request fresh ones and they will make it. Our favorite baked ones are the dynamite roll and the Vegas roll. The prices here have always been quite reasonable all things considered. They give you hot tea if you request it and ginger if you request it, but you do have to ask for it. They have Japanese themed decorations but it isn't overly Japanese feeling. You can also get hand tools for a little more. They have plenty of options to choose from. The service was a little slow though as it took about 10-15 min to get our freshly baked rolls. I've been here before and it's been faster. Parking is not an issue here as it is in a strip mall with lots of parking spaces. Definitely a great place for cheap and good sushi.

    Uncovered sushi plate

One of the worst sushi restaurants I've ever been to! The first thing I noticed was how some of the sushi plates on the conveyor belt were not covered with the lid. One plate was opened and sitting ON TOP of a lid! I can't imagine how long the sushi has been sitting on the belt and moving around through dust and people coughing/sneezing/talking with opened mouths. The price for the plates also seemed so expensive. One plate with butterfly shrimp was a $3.25 plate when at other restaurants, it's one of the cheaper plates. Kura Sushi plates are around $3.95, so I'd rather pay that price for quality sushi then the one here! I felt bad if we just sat down and left, so we just had a plate out of courtesy and went somewhere else for dinner.

$2.95 for shrimp and veggie tempura. Best deal in town

Sushi Hana, the original chain of cheap sushi belt. Been coming here over a decade when plates were $1.65 on happy hour. Now it's $2.95 but still a great deal!

Pretty good, affordable sushi, the ramen is good but it's literally just shin noodles that you can buy at any store for a dollar, and make at home. It had once piece of tempura shrimp in it which was very soggy bcs it was in the broth, and the rest of the bowls was filled with random vegetables that were coated in tempura batter. But aside from the ramen the food is very good.

Oops, 1 mins and hand gone

Note every sushi Hana is independently operated, and this one is the only good one, IMHO! It's much fresher then other sushi Hana (one around the Washington square is the worst). they make great hand rolls (you need to ask, and they don't charge you extra either). Staffs are always friendly, and the sushi chefs have all been there so many years, so it's consistent!

Sushi not sure what this one is but it's good .

It was busy as there were two servers but the service was a bit slow. Hope they can find some help or rest after the busy day! Mom and I each got two fried foods so we could share and have some for another meal, too. Ebi fry: always good, flakey, and it went well with the tartar-like sauce, tonkatsu: nice thick slices and the batter stayed onto the meat (unlike another place haha). Kaarage: the pieces were a lot bigger than the usual karaage at other places but still good and juicy. Assorted tempura: I liked the assortment as there were quite a lot of veggies and of course the shrimp! We also loved the croquettes as they're so soft and fluffy on the inside and the other side dish with a crunchy texture and the little fried squid (or octopus?) I wish I could order more of those! Can't forget the miso soup as it's not salty at all (unlike the other Japanese restaurants I've been to) and they had different types of tofu inside- delish!
