    Estrella Draft
    Daniel M.

This brought back treasured memories of past times in Barcelona. Our host was Stevie -- he got us comfortable and at-home with outdoor seating for 6 on a Saturday afternoon. A rare day in Florida with a clear blue sky and perfect temps in the 60's. I started out with Estrella on draft, a lager brewed in Barcelona, while we delved into the many options of tapas. Fitting for a larger group of people to sample the spirit of Spain while relaxing outside to drinks and chit chat. We went with pan con tamate, stuffed piquillo peppers, batatas bravas, octopus à la Gallegos, and garlic shrimp. A flavorful journey into Spain. I finished off with the liquid dessert, a Spanish coffee, and flan split amongst the table. La Terraza transports you with artistically crafted passion. I'm looking forward to adventuring further.

This is a sleeper of an outstanding restaurant. Tucked into a corner of this strip center, it's dark inside. To the degree that it seems a bit depressing. We ate outside and it was delightful. By the time we left the inside was about 75% full and outside about 1/3. The dry white wine from Spain was delicious and at a reasonable price. The empanadas combo - shrimp - chicken - beef - spinach, well honestly, the best I've had in US. Served at the right temperature - hot - overly stuffed- crispy exterior - a sure standout. The white beans with garlic and huge shrimps were heaven on my taste buds. A definite eeorded when returning. And the crème brûlée was served warm and beautifully presented. This is authentic Spanish food. And the owner/chef, Carlos, is from Spain. Not Colombia. Not Cuba. Not any other Spanish speaking country. SPAIN. For real. And he is outstanding. Santiago was our server. Eager. Bright. Knew all the dishes. Made helpful recommendations. He will be our requested server when we return for dinner and a flamenco show. Can't wait! If you're the patron who drives up in a huge Mercedes. Or Bentley. Or Porsche. With a plastic face and a sweater hung around your shoulders, and eat these delicious authentic dishes and complain tha it was so expensive. It should have been less what it was. Blah. Blah. Blah. Stay home. Eat in with food you pickup or have delivered. Review your investments. Don't come here, eat, and then criticize the portion sizes (which are larger than expected), and most importantly authentic and delicious. And definitely don't go to the nail salon across from the restaurant and trash it to your technician,!who could never afford it.

We decided to check out La Terraza after seeing they had weekday happy hour until 7 PM, and everything exceeded our expectations! We started with their sangria, which was delicious--refreshing and perfectly balanced. I definitely want to try the sparkling sangria next time. We also ordered the pan con tomate (tomatoes on bread), which was simple but full of flavor. They bring out fresh bread with olive oil at the beginning, and it's so good we could've just eaten that all night. We also had the patatas bravas, which were incredible and tasted super authentic--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the sauce was perfect. The service was great from start to finish, and we found out the chef is from Spain, which makes total sense because the food was on point. Would definitely go back again. Great spot for drinks, tapas, and a relaxed evening out!

La Terraza in Boca Raton truly offers a delightful dining experience that captivates both the palate and the ambiance. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. We started our culinary journey with the calamari, which was perfectly fried to a golden crisp. It was tender and flavorful, complemented by a zesty dipping sauce that added just the right amount of kick. Next, the empanadas were a highlight--crispy on the outside and bursting with savory fillings that transport you straight to the heart of Latin cuisine. The sangria, both white and red, was a refreshing accompaniment. The white sangria was light and fruity, perfect for sipping on a warm evening, while the red sangria boasted a rich flavor profile that balanced sweetness with a hint of spice. For our main course, we indulged in the paella, a true masterpiece. The saffron-infused rice was cooked to perfection, with an abundance of fresh seafood, tender chicken, and flavorful chorizo. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, showcasing the chef's expertise. Overall, La Terraza is a gem in Boca Raton. The combination of exquisite food, excellent service, and a vibrant atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Latin flavors. I can't wait to return for another round of their delicious offerings! A huge shoutout to our server, Angela! She was knowledgeable a bout the menu and simply delightful!

Service very friendly as you walk in, the bartender very helpful in chooseing what is good for today. I went with ham croquettes and for dinner churrasquittas a la plan has perfect - no too small and not too big. The place is nicely decorated in Spanish style. Dessert to follow

We recently went to Spain and wanted to check out this new spot! We ordered Papas Bravas, Pan Con tomate, a ton of sea food dishes. My party of 4 was absolutely blown away! The food has a lot of great flavors! I felt that I was back in Spain! This place is a must visit!!! Sorry but we devoured the food so quickly that we didn't even bothered to take pictures!

Best Spanish food outside of España! Gorgeous restaurant that feels like a step into Spain, with stellar paella, tapas, and sangria. The chef is from Spain, cares about his customers, and only uses the best ingredients!

It's like Madrid without the flight. Some of the best Spanish food I have had since my trip to Madrid. The sangria is made to order and it's fantastic. From the jamone to the empanadas everything was great. Can't wait to return.

Our server was amazing! We didn't have to wait long for the delicious food. I ordered the empanada special with 4 different fillings. I also got patatas bravas which was good but had to add some salt to it. queso de cabra relleno (goat cheese and crab meat) was my favorite! For dessert we were debating between the churros and the cheesecake. Ending up picking the cheesecake which was the correct choice. Next time I'm back I'll get the churros.

The wait staff were knowledgeable and very attentive. My wine was an excellent Tempranillo, smooth, fruity, velvety, and reminded me of my time in Spain. Lemon sorbet was out of this world. The best time to sit outside, enjoy the fresh air with a glass of vino. Thanks for the good experience. Will return for some tapas next time.

First time at this restaurant Spanish tapas they had the paella the shrimp were kind of small as were the scallops lots of rice no vegetables, but that's the way they make it. The skirt steak tapas was very good and the salad with goat cheese was also very good the dessert an almond cake with ice cream was delicious. The service was excellent the waitress IZZY was excellent she was professional. She was helpful and she was knowledgeable all the ingredients for a good waitress inside seating made you feel Spanish with red light indoor or outdoor seating. No problem with parking big parking lot.

We enjoyed our time here. The atmosphere was calm and perfect for having a good conversation. It was quiet, which we appreciated, but a little background music could help liven things up without being distracting. The appetizers were definitely the highlight. I'd recommend the croquetas and patatas bravas, they were full of flavor. I had the steak sandwich, which looked great but didn't have as much flavor as I expected. The lemonade tasted like Minute Maid, and I was hoping for something a bit fresher, maybe made at the bar. The service from Davie was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.

I agreed that sounded like an excellent idea. Patio Tapas and Beer was supposed to have a good happy hour 5pm-7pm so we went with that. Its located in a tough spot to get a parking spot in South Mizner area, but we got lucky and landed a spot right by the front door. They had just moved to this new location from nearby a few months ago. It still felt kinda new inside in a good way. There wasn't many people there when we arrived. We were able to easily get a couple spots at their nice oaken bar. There were a handful of friendly staff there that were quick with some wine and some of their happy hour Montaditos. We tried the sangria as well which they had a large container of on the bar. We tried the potatoes, duck breast, shrimp, and Jamon iberico and manchego. Everything was darn good, the iberico possibly the best. Oh, and the Spanish omelet was a nice bite as well. It was a nice happy hour; much better than going to the gym. I think they're all pretty good but our favorites are the piquillo relleno--a small, whole stuffed red pepper with goat cheese, the classic pan con tomate, churrasco, and cordero estofado. I would say those are the most flavorful ones and on our regular rotation. They also have an almond cake we always order that is imported from Spain. Served warm and à la mode, it has a little crusty edge and a very moist, dense crumb. Not too sweet. Sometimes they serve it drizzled with chocolate and I prefer it without.

On our drive home from Miami to Jacksonville, we traded Interstate 95 for the slower, more scenic A1A. It made for beautiful views, but after crawling through one coastal town after another, lunch became a priority. A quick search landed us at Stage Kitchen & Bar on PGA Boulevard, a restaurant I later learned had earned a place in the 2025 Michelin Guide. After one meal, it was easy to understand why. We began with two appetizers that could not have been more different, duck confit egg rolls and a grilled cheese. Calling the grilled cheese "just a grilled cheese" would be unfair. Brie melted between perfectly griddled bread kissed with white truffle oil already sounds luxurious. Pair it with a bright mango jam and suddenly a childhood comfort food becomes something unexpectedly elegant. Richness met sweetness in all the right proportions. The duck confit egg rolls were equally memorable. The duck was deeply seasoned with Middle Eastern spices, giving each bite layers of warm, savory flavor. The accompanying peanut chutney added sweetness, nuttiness, and just enough contrast to keep the dish from becoming too heavy. These egg rolls packed far more personality than their modest appearance suggested. For lunch, my wife ordered the grilled black grouper sandwich. The fish, sourced fresh from local suppliers, was flaky, moist, and clean tasting. Lettuce, tomato, onion, and a malt vinegar aioli gave the sandwich brightness without overwhelming the fish. It was simple, balanced, and exactly what a fresh fish sandwich should be. I chose Stage's signature burger, two Certified Angus Beef patties topped with aged white cheddar, caramelized onions, sunflower sprouts, and their house "fancy sauce." This is the kind of burger that reminds you why burgers became America's favorite sandwich in the first place. Cooked to a juicy medium, every bite was rich without becoming heavy. The caramelized onions added sweetness, the white cheddar delivered sharpness, and the sunflower sprouts provided freshness and texture. The fancy sauce contributed just enough heat to keep everything interesting without stealing the spotlight. Dessert continued the restaurant's habit of taking familiar flavors and giving them thoughtful refinement. My sticky rice ice cream, finished with mango sauce and toasted coconut, captured everything I love about mango sticky rice while transforming it into something lighter and more playful. It was creative without feeling gimmicky. My wife ordered three macarons from local pastry maker Macaroner, S'mores, Passion Fruit, and Lime Coconut. Each shell was delicately crisp before giving way to a soft, airy center, exactly as a proper macaron should. Stage Kitchen & Bar takes familiar dishes and quietly elevates them through technique, quality ingredients, and restraint. Nothing feels overcomplicated or designed simply to impress. Every plate feels carefully considered. Sometimes trusting Google is a gamble. This time, it paid off. Great restaurants don't always announce themselves. Sometimes they're simply waiting for hungry travelers willing to take the next exit.

The Koobideh was the star of the meal, a succulent blend of ground beef and lamb cooked over an open flame that came out unbelievably tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The decor is pretty simple, but I liked that the walls featured quotes from the Persian poet Rumi. One in particular felt especially fitting while waiting for lunch: "The heart is cooking a pot of food for you. Be patient until it is cooked." If you're looking for fancy surroundings, this isn't it. But if you're after excellent Persian food, Shahs of Kabob is absolutely worth the stop.

We arrived around 7:30 and the place was busy, steady takeout and a full dining room. Only one…read moreportion of fesenjan was left; Rachel grabbed it. I ordered my usual benchmark: koobideh. Context matters. There are no full-service Persian restaurants left in Broward or Palm Beach County. If you want traditional stews and Persian-style kebabs north of Miami, Shahs is essentially it. That makes execution important. This visit didn't quite land. The koobideh had a noticeably springy, tightly bound texture, more cohesive than tender. It was juicy, but released a visible amount of rendered fat onto the plate. There was browning, but limited charcoal flavor, so the richness read heavier than it should. The rice leaned soft and compact rather than light and separated, which added to that heaviness. Rachel's fesenjan was underseasoned. The walnut base was there, but the sweet-tart pomegranate balance that defines the dish was muted, leaving it flatter than expected. This feels like calibration, not ingredients. Koobideh is simple on paper but very sensitive to mixing, fat ratio, and fire. When those details are right, it's exceptional. Shahs plays an important role regionally. Tightening grill execution and seasoning would elevate the experience meaningfully. The foundation is there. The details need refinement.

The bartender was easy to talk to and gave a couple suggestions without making it feel like a sales pitch. Both dishes came out pretty quickly even though the place started filling up during happy hour. The bruschetta had a nice mix of sweet and savory, and the avocado toast was fresh without being overly dressed up. I liked the overall pace of the service since nobody rushed me to order more once I finished eating. It felt like a comfortable place to unwind for a bit instead of a loud crowded spot where you're trying to leave right away.

Service was also very slow, even when it wasn't busy. Everything took longer than expected and seemed disorganized. On top of that, the bartender was rude and unwelcoming. I was also charged for another person's drink without being asked or informed; which was unacceptable and felt careless. The staff seemed "blind" to how to properly run a restaurant. For the prices being charged, I expected much better food, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
