The dry ramen and appetizer options at this restaurant are really great--full of flavor and definitely worth trying. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean, which makes for a nice dining atmosphere. The staff was a bit slow during our visit, and the tap water tasted a little off, but overall it was still an enjoyable experience. Potential for an even better visit next time! Our toddler also enjoyed the tonkatsu ramen and the dessert, which was a nice bonus for family dining.

I finally made it into Kajiken to dine in versus grabbing takeout. The restaurant is located in the newer shopping development beside Congressional Plaza. There is parking in the front as well as the back of the row of shops. I came here over the weekend in the early afternoon for an early lunch. It was a group of four adults and three kids. We were lucky to be seated right away without reservations. We were seated in the back and the staff were very accommodating to push two tables in the back together so that we could all fit comfortably. My family ordered our usual takeout options. - Tonkotsu Ramen - My toddler loves this ramen, it is flavorful with plenty of standard toppings: Egg, Menma, Nori and Scallion. I usually order an extra side of noodles and this is the perfect meal portion for us both. - Chashu Don - My younger son loves this! The Chashu is diced into small portions, easy to mix into the rice. Scallion and Nori is added as toppings, both mix well into the rice as well. The portion is perfect for a child. If an adult is ordering I would say this would be an appetizer or another entree would need to be ordered if you are hungry. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite. With three kids at the table we were asking for alot (extra bowls, extra utensils, extra napkins, water refills, extra straws, etc. etc.). The staff were so kind and patient, making sure that we were all taken care of. I will definitely be back again and would highly recommend this spot for both dining and takeout :)

Really nice place. The sukiyaki was the best dish. Awesome noodles and sauce at the bottom, the beef cooked to perfection! My spicy tonkatsu could have been spicier, but it was delicious, especially on a cold day. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Andy, did a great job explaining the menu and what they are good at. For dessert we had the sesame chocolate mousse and the tiramisu . They get their desserts from a place in Rockville town center. The sesame dessert was spot on for me. Not too sweet and very different from all the usual flavors I'm used to. Definitely go here if you are in the area.

Waiter was pleasant but I wish he checked up on us a tad more! The place wasn't noisy at all. Great place to catch up with friends for lunch or dinner. Sukiyaki w/ egg 8/10: Would definitely get again. The sauce is at the bottom & the server let us know that. The meat to noodle ratio was reasonable. Near the end, I found that the dish was getting saltier. Tiramisu crepe cake 10/10: I'm just a huge fan of crepe cakes and Tiramisu so maybe I'm biased. Would recommend this dessert. It's so light !

Excellent "dry" ramen, efficient and friendly service, perfectly pleasant space. I really loved the karaage (only five pieces for the order but came out hot and crispy and not oily with soy and mayo-based sauces), and the roast beef dry noodle which comes with springy noodles, tasty sauce and a yoghurt(?) based sauce, green onions, fried shallots(?), and a raw egg yolk. The beef was tender and well balanced. I would definitely be back. Quite affordable and tasty!

So unfortunate that I was just visiting because I wish I had one near me!!! I came for lunch and ordered the lunch combo and was just so blown away by how good everything was !!! I think I might prefer dry ramen like this over soupy ramen. The flavor is just sooo, soooo good!! I ordered the original + kaarage + sprite but there's a bunch of different options for you to mix n match. You can even swap the soda for a miso soup if you want. Original: FLAWLESS!! The right amount of salty and umami. It doesn't look like it but all the sauce is on the bottom and there is ABSOLUTELY enough sauce to coat every strand of noodle and get all the flavor on there. The chashu on top and good too and I love how bamboo comes with it (instead of being an extra add on like some other places) Karaage was nice and juicy and they gave a decent amount of pieces!!! Crispy outside, juicy inside!! Exactly how it's meant to be. There's 2 sauces too and both were good. Had an amazing lunch and hopefully there's one opening near me in the future!!

Interesting place for soupless ramen. The parking in the front runs out fast from the many restaurants, but there's also parking in the back. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have a big appetite since the portion sizes are tiny. With 2 people eating 3 bowls, we were still starving and had to go to another restaurant to eat right after. This might be the downside of not having any broth to fill your stomach too. The ramen was cooked well so it has a chewy texture. The original dry ramen was our favorite, 2nd was niku miso and least was the roast beef as the sauce was sour. The service was nice as all the servers greet you when you step in and say goodbye in Japanese when you leave. There's 2 bathrooms which are nice and clean and high chairs for toddlers.

We came to this busy restaurant because I wanted to try the brothless ramen. Instead of broth, you mix with oils and vinegar, add toppings. Our party of four enjoyed this (some of us were repeat customers). The parking lot for this location gets very crowded, so it's worth getting here early. I really enjoyed having ramen without the broth -- will try this again!

This little gem has a cute ambience and aesthetic. When you walk in it's clean, decorated beautifully with Anime and the service is QUICK hunTY. I ordered, turned around to grab something out of my purse then the food was there. The food was hot (just like me) and fresh. I personally was not too hungry, but I got the gyoza's and it was good! I give it a 7/10. Dough was moist and the chicken was juicy. It could use a hint of more flavor, but still a good option! The edamame was nice I thought that could have more flavor, personally, but it's still good with a perfect texture and I love the garlic and spice on the outside of the edamame. My best friend had the soup and it looked amazing. This is Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with spice in the side, which they gave a generous amount of. Their menu has a front and back side to it so look on both because they have AMAZING options that I will try and share with you lovely people! Go try it out

Tonkatsu! Don't mind the half eaten egg, I couldn't help myself before taking the photo.

I've eaten here several times and I'm surprised I haven't written a review! We arrived an hour before closing. Parking is a little easier here at 830p. The interior is warm and inviting. The food came out fast. According to our server we finished eating our appetizer and bowls of soup in 25 min. He knew exactly because of when he put the order in. I'm not a fast eater so I was shocked. It was obvious I was hungry. The ramen here is delish. My go to bowl is Tonkatsu. I love a good pork broth. It's rich in flavor. The portion is perfect. Ask for Shawn, he is an awesome server and checked in with us often. We are definitely going back and asking for him!

My friend and I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. It was good. The portion size also felt a little small for the price, particularly when compared to other ramen spots in the area. Service was slower than expected.

We visited during a Sunday afternoon and had to wait just a minute for a table to be cleared. The service was efficient and thoughtful. We had a starter of karaage and you can never go wrong with that. I had the Tonkotsu ramen and it was good. I thought the portion size was a bit smaller than other places I have been, but it was still plenty. My wife had the Homura abura soba. This did not come with a 'dipping' sauce, but the dish was good. I liked this more than my ramen. The layout reminds of places I've visited in Japan. It was a comfortable dining experience and not too loud while Japanese music was playing in the background. With flavor, menu options, prices and service, this place is worth a visit. I recommend parking behind the building because the front is busy and dead-ends on the right side forcing everyone to do a U-turn.

I tried Kajiken when they first opened last year. It was great but fell off my radar with all the new restaurants opening in the area. I was in the mood for sukiyaki one night and DoorDash a bunch of stuff and it hit the spot. Since then my family and I have been two additional times this month and it just started getting cold. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the service is impeccable. I have had the pleasure of trying 90% of the menu now. All of it is pretty solid depending upon taste. Tips- Hot barley tea is commentary if you ask. The condiments on the table can help enhance flavor. Not that the flavors aren't already great. It's like adding the siracha and hoisin to your Pho. You want to go the restaurant for the experience and condiments. It's a must. Like eating chipotle with the kind of fork they provide.

It was really popular that evening, so the three of got squished at the table meant for two, but we didn't mind. The menu is pretty extensive, offering ramen, udon, tonkatsu, rice bowls, grilled fish sets, and more. We ordered pretty quickly, but with how busy it was, it took a bit for the food to come out CHILEAN SEA BASS - 37 As I scanned through, my eyes immediately fell on the miso sea bass. Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Overall, food was delicious and homey. I'd definitely recommend!

The katsu was delicious, and the sashimi was super fresh. The combo also came with the cutest little side dishes, really adorable presentation overall. The staff was also incredibly attentive about my friend's allergies (dairy and nuts). They kept checking in with us and even showed us the sauce ingredients to make sure everything was safe. One of the staff members called my friend "kawaii" after hearing her long list of allergies lol, and honestly, that made my day.
