I leave tips in dollar coins because I believe we should get rid of the $1 bill as most industrialized countries had done. It would save taxpayers $283 million dollars a year. The coin will last forever, as they have no "melt" value. The server walked away from the table and immediately confronted me, "Where's the tip?" I said I was leaving a cash tip. I put $12 on the table in a pile of coins for a $60 check, and we went to the car. The server followed us out the door and demanded to know where the tip was? I said it was on the table and we got into the car and left. If you look at the one star reviews, my fellow yelpers had similar problems. Management needs to tell the servers that tipping is not required. I usually tip 20%, sometimes more if the service is exceptional. If I have a bad meal and/or service, I will ask to see the manager. Since, in the past, I have managed restaurants, I am comfortable doing this. I have told my daughter, who doesn't believe in tipping that she will be less welcome each time she returns to a restaurant. I know how servers feel about people that don't tip, that servers depend on tips.
