    Veggie Combo
    Amy S.

This is located inside of the Lotte Plaza Market right next to Aery. You actually places your order at Aery. Plenty of parking and easy to find. They have some pre-made rolls in the case or you can order at the Aery counter. They also have party platters. Definitely need to keep this in mind for the next time. For this visit, I got the Veggie Combo which consists of carrot roll, avocado roll and kampyo roll. All very delicious. I don't eat raw fish but there are plenty cooked options. I love that this is located side by side with Aery which allows me to have Japanese and Korean. Looking forward to my next visit. UPDATE: came back and got the Veggie Caterpillar Roll. Delicious.

Located in Lotte Plaza at Festival at Muddy Branch Shopping Center, Ichiban Mikoshi Sushi is operated by the same owners of Ichiban restaurant (Gaithersburg) and Aery (Korean food stall right next to this restaurant). They serve traditional sushi rolls, specialty rolls, sashimi, nigiri, chirashi and even caters. Ichiban Mikoshi is located in the small food court immediately to the right when you walk in the doors of Lotte. If you decide to dine in, they have a few tables there for you. Based on the times I've been to grab food from Aery and Ichiban Mikoshi, most customers order their food to go. My go to so far has been their salmon lover combo. If you love salmon, this combo is definitely for you. For $10.95, you a salmon avocado roll (8 pieces) and salmon nigiri (5 pieces). What a steal! The salmon is super fresh and it melts in your mouth. So good! I've also tried the tuna avocado roll, Philly roll, and salmon BBQ roll (which is essentially a CA roll topped with seared salmon, fried onions, and eel sauce). You could taste the freshness and quality of all ingredients. Out of the three rolls previously mentioned, my least favorite was the tuna avocado roll. Still tasty, but I'm definitely a huge salmon fan. If you can't decide between sushi and Korean food, you can have both here as you can order from Aery as well. If you call your order in, I'd add an extra 20-30 minutes to the estimated time given. There are have been a couple times where my order wasn't ready at the stated time, but it gave me the opportunity to pick up some items at Lotte. If you are looking for quality sushi at an affordable price, I highly recommend checking out Ichiban Mikoshi Sushi!

The sushi here is really good. Everything is prepared fresh and presented in a beautiful manner. They have an extensive array of choices and are great for catered events. They are located just inside the Lotte Mart store on the right side. We've ordered sushi to go here many times and never been disappointed. Although they have a few tables for in store dining it's not the greatest setup for enjoying a meal since there is a lot of shopping traffic moving through the store. The sushi chef is very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend you try this place.

Check out the beautiful wasabi leaf and ginger flower presentation!

This sushi spot is located inside the Lotte Plaza Market, next to Aery, the fried chicken place. We easily placed and paid for our order online. I was craving a sushi platter so we kind of created our own. We got: eel roll, California roll, Salmon in the Forrest, Tuna Lover, and Salmon BBQ roll. Our favorite was probably the salmon BBQ roll, which has seared salmon with spicy sauce, on top of a California roll, with fried onion and eel sauce. The tuna lover was pretty good too, consisting of 5 pcs of tuna nigiri and a tuna avocado roll for ~$16. The salmon in the forest has the wrong photo and description on the website, making it look like a salmon version of the tuna lover but for only $9. It ended up being a salmon roll with some cooked seaweed salad around it, which was pretty tasty too but just not what I expected. Overall, would rate this a 4.5/5 but rounding up for quality, service, and care of our takeout. You can see in our photo they put everything in a platter and turned the wasabi into this beautiful wasabi leaf and turned the ginger into a flower. Great presentation.

Boo-hoo, look around and you'll find a spot unless you're driving a yacht. Now, to the setting and the food...the setting is the way I like it. Rustic, clean, unassuming, not fancied up. Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here. This week was only the second time. I totally forgot where it was or whether it was still around. So glad it is.

THE FOOD We ordered the Chadol Premium Combo, which featured five delicious cuts of Angus beef accompanied by a bowl of soybean soup, fresh lettuce leaves, large pink pickled daikon slices, and three standard dipping sauces. We also added a salad and the cheese corn to round out the meal. Overall, the meat quality was excellent. * Unmarinated Short Rib: Simple, high-quality, and quite tasty. * Boneless Ribeye: Prepared with rosemary and butter, making it an incredibly rich and flavorful bite. * Marinated Boneless Short Rib: Prepared with sesame and garlic. Because this cut is closer to the bone, it was flavorful and tender. As a bonus, the fried garlic left at the bottom of the pan after cooking was absolutely delicious. * Marinated Galbi Short Rib: Very tender and surprisingly flavorful without leaning too sweet, which was a great balance. * Pickled Chayote: Made with chopped onions and jalapeños. This side was refreshing and flavorful, serving as palate cleanser between rich bites of beef. THE SERVICE * Our server, Kaitlyn, took a no-nonsense, efficient approach to our meal. She helped start the grilling process and dropped by periodically to fire up the next batch of meats and refill our banchan and water. Tip: You have the option to cook everything yourself, but if you want assistance, simply flip the table sign to request help with the grill. OVERALL A clean environment for high-quality Korean BBQ with solid, efficient service and excellent cuts of meat.

I've tried it at a couple other places in the area and been underwhelmed, the one here is quite good, second only to my holy grail version which is sadly in a state I don't plan to revisit. We also had a seafood panjeon and it was excellent - tons of seafood and vegetables, a crisp breading that didn't feel doughy at all. The food was served with a couple banchan (radish, cabbage kimchi and the pickled radish + raw onion that is usually served with jjajangmyeon). The prices are great for Korean food; the jjajangmyeon was 10.99, pancake 19.99 and hubs and I brought about half of each home. We probably could have gotten away with just ordering one or the other but having leftovers is golden. We'll be back to try some other items on the menu!
