    Blackened Tuna. AMAZING!!

I don't know why there's such bad reviews for this restaurant. It was some of the best food and service I've had in Stillwater. The restaurant was completely empty and the people were so nice. I definitely would recommend this place.

All you need to know: The wait for our food order was terribly long. The rice was really dry. The staff was really unpleasant. The food was very average. The price was very expensive. The decor was absolutely stunning.

First the…read moredecor is vintage "low rent class" not quite dirty but close, ala 1960 style and has never been upgraded or renovated. It certainly is not inviting or even remotely attractive. They consistently scrimp on customer comfort. I understand a hibachi restaurant is warmer than normal due to the hot grill but at Nagoya the heat in the restaurant was almost unbearable. Looking around the restaurant revealed multiple people fanning themselves. The heat was very uncomfortable and I asked our wait person if he could adjust the air conditioning. He seemed confused and went to a light switch. I told him we needed cool air not the light switch. He left and another employee came and adjusted the thermostat. When we could tell no improvement I asked him again and he related the thermostat was "turned way down to 70 degrees"! Everyone at our table was clearly uncomfortable from the heat and they would only turn the temp setting down to 70 degrees! Regarding the food, we have noted a gradual decline in the quality over the years. The fried rice has almost no veggies in it anymore, just all rice now. I ordered filet mignon and my grandson ordered steak. The chef dumped the meat on the grill and none of us could tell any difference between the two, even though you pay more for filet mignon than plain steak. The chef grills the meat together and cuts it into pieces, dishes it onto your plates. My grandson and I carefully looked at my "filet" and his plain steak on our plates and absolutely could not tell any difference! Food taste is wildly variable as it is very "chef dependent". One chef may be really good while another is not so good, it therefore is a crap shoot, you never know if your meal will be good or regrettable. Lastly, in spite of the miserable heat in the restaurant, we waited more than half a hour before the "chef" decided to appear to begin our meal orders. The Chinese owners could learn from Japanese how best to run a Japanese hibachi restaurant. I am not sure we will go back which is a shame as years ago this place was much better.

The Espresso Natini was perfect 5/5: velvety, smooth, and an excellent mocktail. The Tuna Crispy Rice was another 5/5, with crispy yet soft rice and glazed tuna that added just the right touch of sweetness. The Foie Gras was rich, buttery, crispy, and topped with a sweet sauce. Absolutely delicious. 5/5 The biggest surprise was the salmon nigiri. It was the first time I tasted the buttery fat content. I'm new to sashimi! 5/5 The Tamago was a solid 4.5/5 with great texture and sweetness, though it could have used more rice and been served hotter. The Shogun was my lowest-rated dish at 3.5/5. Creative and refreshing, but too wet from the cucumber. The Smokin' Salmon Aburi was good, but had too many competing flavors. The most interesting item was the Baked King of Crab. I wasn't impressed at first, but after deconstructing it and eating the components separately, I discovered multiple types of crab, including a crab leg. That turned it into a 5/5.

We also really enjoyed the stop 'n go roll, which was also fresh. If you want options that are cooked the ribs (a bit pricey for serving size) and the titan roll were both good, but the fresh fish options remain our favorite.

I placed my order and my food came out pretty quickly. I took a bite of my food and then decided I wanted soy sauce. I picked up the clean bowl that the soy sauce goes in and wasn't really paying attention when I dumped some in. As I was dipping my sushi into the soy sauce, I noticed that a fly was in the sauce. I notified the waitress and she was very apologetic. She brought me a new bottle of soy sauce. I continued eating and things were going okay until the manager came to my table. She apologized for the fly and I told her that I understand that things happen sometimes. She proceeded to tell me that employees are instructed to strain the soy sauce prior to pouring it into the individual containers on the table. She walked off before I could fully consider that she meant strain for bugs or wonder why the soy sauce would need to be strained if it was fresh or sealed. No mention was made of giving me any kind of discount or replacing the piece of sushi that I lost to the fly incident.

The Sushi Bar - Memorial Road OKC…read more Let me start with this... If I can convince my wife to try something called the "Naughty Girl Roll"... you already know we're off to a strong start From the moment we walked in, the vibe was exactly what you want in a sushi spot--comfortable, relaxed, and not trying too hard to be something it's not. Just good energy and a place you can actually enjoy your meal. Our server Juan? Spot on. Attentive without hovering, checked in at all the right times, and kept things moving smoothly. Let's Talk Food Naughty Girl Roll This is the one. Tempura shrimp, avocado, and cream cheese, topped with baked salmon, spicy mayo, sweet sauce, masala, and scallions. Rich? Yes. Over-the-top? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely. This is the roll you order when you want to convert someone into a sushi fan. Ikura (Salmon Roe) This one was all mine--and that's probably for the best. If you're into that briny pop and clean ocean flavor, this hits. If not... no shame in sitting this one out. Norwegian Mackerel A really well-balanced dish. Cooked just right, paired with bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, and white rice. Clean, flavorful, and a nice break from the heavier rolls. Bento Box My wife's choice--and honestly, a smart one. If you're not feeling adventurous, this gives you variety without stepping too far outside your comfort zone.
