One of the best sushi experiences I've had in Florida. This is a must if you love sushi, a little skeptical and must have it cooked or simply afraid. They have something for everyone to be happy! The lobster dish (can't remember the name) was unlike anything ive seen before. It was somewhere between lobster tempura sushi and lobster tempura. It was very light, crispy, super flavorful. This would impress family or a date in a more romantic sense. Whats not romantic is the endless bento box. Sushi rolls, three kinds of sashimi, soup, then your teriyaki dish with veggies. By the time I got through my salmon and roll, I felt like I was in an eating competition. Being absolutely delicious helped me make it through, but it may be better to get a single bento box, the lobster dish, and another roll you may want to try for 2. To top off everything, the staff are extremely nice and attentive. It was like there wasnt a full house of patrons. This will be my designated sushi spot! read more

Second time and they did great again. We ordered up the pad Thai bento lunch special and a JM roll (tuna, cream cheeses and avocado) All of it was great. It's intimate... :-) Some outdoor seating when it's opened up. Not ideal for large parties, but they might be able to make it work with some creativity. Party of 4 is ok though. I like it for a lunch meet up. Food is delicious, staff are friendly. They do call ahead catering orders too from what I heard, just call to hear what they offer. Food has been delicious each time. Good amount of food per order. We could have probably been fine sharing 1 lunch order with the appetizers. We have gone more than once now, and will continue to go. First time trying this place. Very small - 6 tables on the inside and a few outside. The restaurant inside seemed very clean and new. I order 2 sushi rolls for the lunch menu. The only soup available on the weekends is miso. My sushi was good - I order a spicy tuna roll and a JM roll. My only complaint is that it had a lot of rice and that my "spicy tuna roll" wasn't actually spicy tuna. It was just regular salmon with spicy mayo on top of it. Sushi Kawa is very close to us so we were hoping that it would be a good experience. And, it was! We ordered the Sushi Boat for 2 and a Shrimp Tempura roll. All of the fish was fresh and plentiful, and, the boat had a good selection of sushi and sashimi - Tuna, Salmon, Escolar, and Hamachi. My only comment is that all of the sushi and sashimi pieces are rather big - not a problem for me but we're a little more challenging for my wife. A good selection of reasonably prices beers round out the experience. Service was great and friendly and they work hard to keep things moving. As others have commented, the restaurant is very small and was full by 6pm on a Thursday night. The outdoor space helps but you need to get there early if you want a table inside. Also, it did get a bit cool in the dining room so you may want to bring a jacket if you're sensitive to the cold... We will definitely be going back for more sushi and to try out their Thai and Japanese foods. read more

If you're looking for something quick and satisfying, I would go here. I'm huge on Thai and was excited to see this place while visiting Melbourne. The restaurant is incredibly tiny but it didn't feel crowded as there was only one other group in here. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the service was decent. We ordered the soft shell crab dish as an appetizer and were sad to find that it was incredibly fishy. There were unwanted parts of the crab that seemed to be left in while cooking. This made it hard to eat. We then had curry for our main dish and thought one was too thick and the other was runny. The red curry was more like soup and the panang was too thick. I also did not like the shrimp tail shell being left on. It made it difficult to eat. We also ordered Thai tea and I enjoyed it. We ordered the milk separately thinking it would help with the sweetness, but quickly realized they didn't use condensed milk in their recipe. Overall, I would try this place out. Brand new sushi place in Viera.. you walk in and wow it's tiny inside! While waiting for a table many people walked in, saw it filled up and how small it was and walked out. You should expect to wait if you come here. There are ten tables, six inside and four outside. The place just opened so I was fully expecting some slower service and kinks needing to be worked out. The menu is huge and it seems the take out orders were getting priority over the customers inside the restaurant. They only had two people working outside of the kitchen, one of which was actually running around the restaurant. There was a lot of waiting for the drinks, and the food but like I said I expected that due to them just opening. I will return to give this place another try in a few weeks to see if they have figured everything out. The food was okay, it's nothing to rave about. Again, I am being optimistic and that it will be better once they have been open for a few weeks and maybe cut down the large menu. read more

This is the best local sushi ever. I have tried several different roles in each have been as delicious as the last. Service is excellent and everybody that is their helping is friendly and kind. The restaurant is itself not being huge inside is decorated beautifully and so clean and fresh. A friend and I went recently, and she had a vegetable curry that she said was the best she ever had. A solid spot for the area and conveniently close to the subdivision. In true Viera fashion, taking your golf cart to Sushi Kawa should be a tradition. Unlike other Asian restaurants nearby, Sushi Kawa has surprisingly good ventilation, no lingering heavy odors, which is a welcome change. Hopefully, it stays that way. The lobby is small, but the staff does a great job accommodating all party sizes. They're constantly rearranging tables and chairs to make it work. It might raise some questions about fire codes, but so far, it seems to be effective. The food is consistently good, fresh, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. We were a bit let down that yellow curry wasn't on the menu, but the Panang Curry (chicken) was absolutely delicious. It was also refreshing to enjoy a curry in Brevard without pineapple...we're not sure why that's a trend here and why most Thai places do not allow you to modify your order without it. The restaurant is very small inside and cannot sit very many. We were lucky and got sat at the last table right as we walked in and all decided in the end the place would not be worth waiting for if a table was not open. Service was very slow and the timing of the food was not right. At any point in time during the meal one of our group of four did not have what they ordered for apps or the main meal and we took turns watching each other eat wondering where the missing order was at. It took an hour and twenty minutes from the time we sat down to when our sushi started coming out in sporadic bursts. The sushi itself was good but compared to other sushi places within Brevard it was mediocre. They just opened so they may be working through their business flow still but until they have more time to work on the meal and service timing kinks it's best to pass on this place. read more

First time visiting this restaurant and ordered takeout. It felt a bit off walking in through the patrons eating to get to the counter at the end of the room. I had a friendly greeting and restaurant seemed clean which should be expected because it is newly opened. I placed my order and was told 15 minutes. The very small dining room was full but seemed like that was reasonable. I came back and order was not ready until approximately 30 minutes. Which wasn't bad but they said they were packing it up when I came in so I stood waiting in that small area in front of the bathrooms by their counter. I would have liked to been told it would be about another 15 minutes and I would have waited outside until it was time. I had the Kee-mao and my wife had the Vegetable LoMein. Both were very tasty. The Kee-Mao noodles were virtually unidentifiable because they must have been so overcooked they disintegrated into a mushy soup like substance. Which my wife's LoMein noodles were very soft it made sense that they overcook the noodles. Only other negative is that the portion size seemed small for the price. Me and my mother ordered takeout chicken pad thai and shrimp tempura rolls. Instead of tempura rolls, we got 2 whole shrimp tempura (not sushi) appetizers. The pad thai was very vinegary and there was more breaded and fried carrots in the shrimp tempura than there was actual shrimp.
