So there I was, in need of Miso soup. And I don't mean those dollhouse tea cup serving size new age portions of soup either I'm talking an absolute unit of miso soup. We're just craving that I couldn't quite shake. Lucky for me this place was five minutes away from work in Melbourne and I placed an order just to make sure both a large and a small order. To my surprise, it was a very generous portion and it was so much soup I had enough for dinner. Although I ordered it over the phone and did not sit down to eat the place had plenty of parking and it was a great experience from starting to finish. When I went to pick up the order place was packed and definitely a great tell service wise person on the phone and the person I spoke to the register were very kind and my order was ready right away so I went back to my office and enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to posting a follow up review when I sit down to eat their cuisine and I'll have all kinds of photos. This was a great experience and a great first. Impression. Sushi roll was alright. Not worth getting again but maybe one of their other rolls is better. Wonton soup broth was tasty but the wontons themselves were kinda bland and the wrapping texture was kinda strange; really soft and loose. I would give it another try since it's been there forever and people seem to like it, but I didn't think much of what I got. Service was great and quick. read more

Wow. This place was a huge disappointment. We ordered edamame as an an appetizer but it was served after my husband's Pad Thai came. Then they finally served my cold (not supposed to be) Volcano Roll, (which I sent back) (it was sitting on the sushi bar) and the second one (which stated mixed fish with mayonnaise on top of a California Roll) was awful. It wasn't busy in there and the server never came by amd asked if we needed anything. Even worse the owner was there and didn't come by and say anything. He was made aware of the situation read more

We decided to try here bc of the good ratings. Our sushi was fresh & delicious. There were many rolls to choose from. We enjoyed every roll we tried. We wanted to try the tempura ice cream, they were out of it so we ordered the tempura cheesecake. I asked if they would write happy bday on it. One of the waitresses said "we'll try". So my soup came with a free hair ‍‍ This is my 2nd time at Nippon Thai, the 1st time Was dine in and it was pretty awesome. I had a take away soup and Pad Thai this time and both of them, horrible. Well, the soup had a hair so that was kinda gross. I called, and they brought me a new one which was great. The soup and Pad Thai were both very bland And had no taste at all. Lunch was great....the choices amazing and the portions great. A popular location with the local crowd and we came at around 1pm. Our waitress let us know we just missed the rush. Our waitress was authentically Asian....I think Korean but she called us "honey" every​ other word. Which was just unusual not what I expected but hey it is the south and she was all in. She was great though and kept up on our meals, drinks, ​and check. The food was the star of this day, I always have a few standards that I order when I go to a restaurant​ of a certian type. For a Thai place,​ it is the fresh spring hand rolls. Their's were great. Peanut sauce was ummmmmm GOOD. We also ordered​ Pad Thai and Cashew Nut vegetables​ with meat. The food and portions were great for a lunch meal. I had the Tom Kha Kai soup and it was very good. So Niki and I are big sushi fans. If given the chance Niki might eat nothing but sushi. She prefers the specialty rolls where I prefer individual pieces. Our two young girls enjoy sushi very much. The little one likes rolls with cream cheese while the older one likes sushimi, her favorite is octopus. I think she likes it because it is more unusual. Dont get me wrong it is not bad but far from my favorite piece of sush. So we have tried just about ever place in the area for sushi and the place we continue to come back to is Nippon Thai. It is very close to Patricks Air Force Base on A1A and if you aren't careful you will drive right by it, so keep your eyes pealed. Once there it doesn't look like much but when you get inside it is very nice and clean. They offer both Thai, Japanese, and Sushi here which seems to be the norm with similar restaurants in the area. All are excellent but most come here for the sushi. The service here is also very good and they are very helpful in suggesting items for new comers. Their specialty rolls are great and their pieces are very tasty and very fresh. Niki usually orders edemame to start for everyone to share. The kids find the exercise of removing the individual beans especially entertaining. I usually start with a green salad because I am seriously addicted to the ginger dressing, I need help! Try one of their desserts after your done enjoying your meal. I like the donuts personally or some nice green tea ice cream. It all just seems to go well with after this kind of meal. The nice thing about this place too is that they are not as expensive as they other places around. Give Nippon Thia a try for lunch or dinner and I bet it wont be your last visit. read more

I called first to ask if they had unfiltered cold saki. Usually in Florida they only have hot which I'm not a fan of. They had it! So, off we went there for a full sushi dinner (They have hot dishes too but we went for sushi and sake). We both ordered hand rolls Spider Temaki (Soft shell crab) but they have a lot of TEMAKI (CONE SHAPED HAND ROLLS) to choose from. Then we ordered sashimi until we were full. Tuna, Yellow Tail, Salmon, and Unagi. Our waitress was Thai and very sweet. We also shared a Thai Iced Tea after we finished our sake. The tea is amazing but I can never finish one because it is very rich like a dessert (to me at least). If youre going to dine here its my opinion it's better to dine in than order take out or delivery. It's been my experience when you order take out the portion size is definitely smaller than eating in the restaurant. My last order was $53.31 after tip for spicy JB Sushi Roll, one spicy Basil Chicken and one cashew nut shrimp. When we opened the small rice boxes that came with the meals they weren't even filled.
