Service was quick & very kind. I've been in the search for great sushi and I'm happy I finally found the spot! So many roll options! Can't wait to try them all!! Will definitely be coming back! Fish was fresh & presented beautifully

Our Neighborhood go-to place for sushi. Consistent great service and deliciousness. When we need our sushi fix this is where we go. Always clean and quiet. We appreciate this place and people so much.

Been here twice and both times the food was great. Truthfully, we've only ordered sushi and saki though. If you like sushi, try the purple haze (I think that's the name). I think it's raspberry-flavored saki. Not an overpowering btw. Well-balanced. We tried all of the other saki flavored ones they have and that one flavor gives us cravings to come back. I only wish more places served it.

Toyo Sushi- Suntree, FL- 1 Star "Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Unless he doesn't like sushi, then you also have to teach him to cook." - Auren Hoffman Lounging around in the Big Boy domicile, I was beginning to feel peckish and so grabbed my random name generator and punched in some parameters. While it was doing its thing, I grabbed the keys and headed for the door. By the time I was out the door, it was done and flashing a name for my destination. It would appear that I am having sushi for my next meal as the name of Toyo Sushi, in Suntree was flashing at me. Bummer. I have to eat sushi...again. If someone has to suffer as such, it might as well be The Big Boy. Located in the beautiful newer storefronts within Suntree, Toyo Sushi was a gorgeous spot in which to dine. After being shown to a table and handed a menu, I began to read the menu while waiting for my wait staff to arrive. The interior was spotless, quaint, inviting and tastefully decorated. Empty as a Best Buy after the Black Friday crowd, but nice nonetheless. I was soon approached by a lovely younger lady going by the Anglican name of Chris. Chris was very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Chris was the best thing about this place, but I get ahead of myself. I asked Chris for one Melbourne Roll, surf clam nigiri, spicy tuna nigiri (my sushi joint barometer) and one order of Uni nigiri I was feeling adventurous and Chris assured me it was fresh. Chris was back before too long and after snapping a few pictures, I placed my napkin on my lap and proceeded to feast. First up was the Melbourne Roll. Toyo's Melbourne Roll consists of tuna, salmon, yellowtail and cucumber on the inside with more salmon, some avocado, eel sauce, spicy mayo and crunchy onions on top. The roll was fresh, albeit smothered in sauce. A bit much for my liking, however, it was edible, just not a bell ringer. The Surf Clam, which is usually served frozen in a single layer, was adequate. I am assuming it was freshly thawed to order as it had none of that pasty feeling you get on the palate from not-so-fresh frozen seafood. My sushi barometer of a spicy tuna roll was seemingly prepared correctly, but I found it to be severally lacking in the taste category. I don't know how they messed this up, the ingredients appeared fresh, but it was just a bit outside the strike zone. This brings us to my final item up for review, the Uni. If you are unfamiliar with Uni, it is the interior meat of the coastal Sea Urchin found up and down the Pacific coast, well, all coasts really, but the best stuff comes from the Left Coast as the cooler waters lead to a sweeter, firmer texture. The only thing to remember when it comes to Uni is that it HAS to be fresh. If it is not, it can be very hard to get down. I remind you that my waiter, Chris, assured me the Uni was fresh, after one bite, I assure you it was not. Uni should be a stronger taste than say, tuna, but it should not have a bite and it should not leave a bitter aftertaste behind. This did both, ergo, it was not fresh. It almost wasn't past the edible point, as in it wasn't going to make anyone ill, but it was not proper freshness for the discerning sushi connoisseur, hell, even for the passing consumer this was bollocks. The Big Boy says, "unless you're in need of some bait, I would skip this place." #bigboydiningout #bigboy

This place is amazing! Freshest fish every time. Not too busy and plenty of seating. Prices are reasonable. I have eaten at every sushi place around Melbourne and this is the best!

We all loved our meals. Plenty of flavor! Service was pretty good. The sushi was fresh. The prices are reasonable. Can't wait to try more of their food.

This place used to be good. Sadly, it's gone downhill. Their sushi is now either flavorless or just awful. Will not be returning.

It's seasonal, so I usually call ahead to make sure they have it, and when they do, I'm there. The combination of warm sticky rice, sweet coconut flavor, and fresh mango is absolutely unbeatable. I've had mango sticky rice at quite a few places, and this is easily one of the best versions I've ever had. If you see it on the menu, don't skip it. They definitely know what they're doing.

Today, however, while the food was still good, the service was so poor that we are unlikely to return. Our server took our order (including an additional to-go order) and the food and drinks arrived promptly. After that, we never saw her again. Some of the dishes were spicy, so we needed water refills, but we received no attention. We eventually had to flag down a young man who was clearing tables just to get boxes. The people at the table behind us had the same problem and also had to stop a busser for help. And, it was post lunch with a light crowd. After paying, we waited for our to-go order. We waited a long time. Finally another staff member noticed us and asked if we needed anything. We explained that our to-go order was supposed to be ready when we finished eating, yet no one had checked on us for about 20 minutes. He found the order sitting on the bar and brought it over. How long it had been sitting there is anyone's guess. It's disappointing that a longtime favorite has been so badly undermined by the wait staff.

The server looked at with a smile and slight confusion. We realized they were not yet open! I felt like a dunce. We offered to come back. She made sure we were comfortable, provided several laughs, and advised that the chef was preparing. The ambiance was so inviting and the overall vibe was great so waiting was not even a concern. We started with the wings. Oh my! They were out of this world. I can only assume (because I didn't ask) that they were soy garlic, and oh so yummy. Extremely tender and moist, with more flavor than any wing should have. My Daughter ordered the chilli oil noodles. They were a medium spice packed with flavor. My finance ordered hot and spicy noodles that didn't hold back. They were as described with the perfect about of heat. She'd felt they would have benefited from a bit of sweetness, but were delicious. I thought they were great. I ordered the mongoose Dan Dan noodles. They were also delicious. The noodles themselves were the star I feel. They had the perfect amount of bounce giving an authenticity I didn't expect. I tried all three dishes and my favorite was the hot and spicy noodles but my daughter gave her leftovers to her boyfriend! I was offended but I survived. We shared a slice of pistachio cake that was truly special. The server told us it was amazing but we didn't expect it to be that good. It was super moist, not overly sweet, and was nothing less than perfect. Totally unexpected. This is a true gem.
