This is a fantastic AYCE sushi option! A group of 8 of us stopped by after fellow Yelper Chris W. found out about this spot. We were one of only a few tables on a Tuesday evening and we had very attentive service! Our server came back for many, many sushi, sashimi and nigiri requests. We started off with our appetizers - I especially enjoyed the shumai and yellowtail jalapeño. We put in a ton of sashimi orders which came out pretty quickly! We also put in several specialty roll orders at the beginning of dinner though those came out later in our meal. By then, we were getting full from quite a few nigiri and sashimi pieces - though we did have a lot of orders which probably got a bit confusing! When the specialty rolls (the stars of the show) arrived, we took our Yelp-worthy pics of a gorgeous sushi boat before we dug in! The boat made for such a great presentation and it was so easy for all of our party to reach in and grab a few pieces. The standout of the night was the namesake Yamamori roll - that eel, tuna and avocado combo was such a hit! I enjoyed all the other specialty rolls as well. For dessert I had a few bites of my friend's green tea and was so impressed - the flavor was very well-balanced and not too sweet. I had a full serving of the red bean strawberry ice cream - it was my first time having a red bean flavored ice cream and I really liked it! I found that it balanced the sweetness of the strawberry well. My friends opted for the banana and Oreo tempura which looked delicious. Managed to squeeze in a June AYCE sushi outing right at the end of the month! This time we ventured to Haley M.'s part of town to try Yamamori, one of the few AYCE sushi restaurants in Pearland. On Tuesday evening, we were 1 of 3 occupied tables and received fantastic, attentive service - our server was very patient with us as we awaited our full party's arrival and perused the lengthy menu, which AYCE enthusiasts will notice is very similar to that of Sushi Masa. Before long, our hot appetizers arrived quickly to the table, followed by the chilled/marinated tataki, which helped assuage our ravenous appetites! It took a little longer for our nigiri and sashimi to arrive, but we quickly divvied up the fresh, well-portioned spoils. Note that yellowtail/hamachi is not listed on the AYCE menu, though our server confirmed that it is available to order. Our selection of rolls took the longest to arrive - yet they were well worth the wait! The namesake Yamamori roll and the lemon-inflected Nemo roll were standouts; all the maki were well-sized, sturdily constructed, and tasted distinct from one another. We concluded our episode of gluttony with banana tempura à la mode, a deliciously crispy and creamy end to our sushi feast. While I typically batch our group orders to help out our servers, I think it may have worked against us as we ended up waiting longer for large sashimi and maki plates as opposed to smaller, personal orders. It's possible that our wait time was simply a reflection of their level of staffing for a weeknight; it's hard to predict how things might flow on the weekend when there are both more sushi chefs and more tables. All in all, Yamamori is a solid choice for folks in Pearland and south Houston - I'd come back if they added seared options to the menu or if I found myself craving sushi in the area! read more

My husband and I visited this place today hoping to have lunch after a great day of shopping. Since it was our first time trying this restaurant, we expected a great experience, but it didn't happen. Unfortunately, we waited over 45 minutes for our rolls. The appetizers we received were the Miso Soup (warm but not hot), Pot Sticker (cold, as if they had been sitting out), and Shrimp Tempura (undercooked and lukewarm). The server said the reason for the wait was due to the modifications to the rolls. The modifications we requested were spicy mayo on the side and no cream cheese due to my dairy allergy. I came here for lunch twice because I love the all you can eat lunch menu. The first time we made the rookie mistake of trying to order everything on the menu, but we got to really it home so that wasn't so bad. However, the second time I was focused on trying to eat as much rolls as possible, which wasn't much since I do enjoy their appetizers. My favorites are the mango salmon and cucumber wrap. I'm so disappointed! We come here all the time! We love the food but Today's service was so shocking!. We placed orders and it took 30 mins for the kids hibachi meal to come out. Ended up being wrong. They literally just gave us a small SAUCE plate with 3 tiny pieces of chicken and 5 pieces of zucchini. I told the waiter we ordered an adult hibachi meal and kids hibachi meal. She put in the order AGAIN and another waited 30 mins!!!! My son was starving! I was starving! We also ordered 2 sushi entrees. The whole time we were there 1 hour, not one time they cleared the table filled with our appetizers plates, the sushi trays etc. table was a mess! No service provided at all. When we couldn't take the hunger anymore we told them to give us the check so we can literally walk out of a restaurant we went an hour and something minutes hungry!!! Haven't been back in about two-three years and just discovered they have a lunch AYCE menu that has a wide variety of high quality special rolls and hand rolls. I came here to eat lunch on a workday. They were very quick and fast. Our tables and chairs were stable. I ordered the salmon hibachi which came with a small salad, not pictured , and I requested to replace the rice with more veggies. It was really tasty and flavorful. I really like the more orangey looking sauce. The salmon itself was quite thin. I would like it to be a bit thicker but maybe that's just my preference. I would order this one again. This is officially our go to spot for sushi! Yamamori is a small, cozy establishment but they definitely are mighty in flavor. The staff is always kind and very helpful. Service is slower paced but it's not a problem for me as the quality of the dishes are always top tier. Everything is fresh, hot, and most importantly delicious. A staple in our dining out rotation. They have a regular menu or an all you can eat option. We've done both and have had good experiences so it's really up to you to decide what kind of experience you want. read more

Me and my husband were craving sushi at 8pm at night and wanted to try somewhere near home which is how we ended up at Yamamori. I decided to get the vegetarian sushi meal which came with soup sushi and nigiri. Miso soup- this was the very first time I tried miso soup and I realized I'm not into it. I don't think I enjoy the flavor of miso soup. It was a cold day so I thought it was worth trying. I also am not too sure if I don't like miso soup in general or their miso soup. Veggie sushi roll- your typical veggie roll which includes avacado cucumber, nothing to special but not bad Nigiri for veggies do not recommend- I also learned what nigiri is, the veggies I wish were flavored and then placed on the rice. It was very plain and even with soy sauce was not flavored well to me. They are really good at presentation! Both my and my husbands dishes were presented really well. I always wish sushi places have more unique rolls for vegans or vegetarian- this place doesn't have any other rolls for vegetarians other than the one I tried. We visited Yamamori for the first time recently and were quite impressed with their all you can eat menu offerings. Not only does it include sashimi and sushi, including premium rolls, but it also includes many other starters, soups, salads, hibachi, fried rice, desserts, and a beverage of choice. I tried gyoza, fried rice, teriyaki steak, and a couple different rolls and (with the exception of the steak which was a bit tough and chewy) really enjoyed everything. The restaurant has a calm, clean atmosphere--perfect if you're looking to relax and enjoy a meal on your own. I ordered the Shaggy Dog Roll, which was crispy and flavorful, with a great balance of spicy mayo and eel sauce. I also tried a deep-fried roll with cream cheese--I didn't catch the name, but it was rich, warm, and really satisfying. I added an order of shrimp tempura too, and it was light, crispy, and fresh--exactly how good tempura should be. As was the GYOZA! Yum Even though I was dining alone, the waiter was fantastic--super friendly, attentive, and made me feel totally welcome. The service really stood out and made the experience even better. When I first came here it was good. When I came here last night for AYCE, it was great! On a Holiday Monday evening, this place was not packed, and the perfect spot for a post-river trip feast. The Gal and I came in around 7-ish. When they first opened I don't believe AYCE was an option, I could be wrong though. But I did enjoy the look, and the service at the time. This time through, we enjoyed the feast. Great location (for me). Parking is easy, they have a massive lot. The place is clean, and well situated. It's not a huge restaurant, so be careful during peak times if it's busy. Plan accordingly. Our wait staff was Tommy, he was great! Consistently checking in on us, and clearing the table before any dishes stacked up. Very friendly, and attentive. The food was great! With each AYCE comes a free sake, beer or beverage of your choice. See menu. That's a good deal. This is a cool place with great options. They offer a 35$ all you can eat dinner option and let me just tell you, totally worth it! It gives you the option of trying a variety of items in their menu. You can sit for an hour and a half limit if you are doing the all you can eat. The spicy edamame and miso soup were amazing! The shrimp tempera did not have any flavor in my opinion. My wife and I ended up here on our anniversary after killens steak house was closed due to lack of electricity during the wind storms. We splurged and ordered appetizers, "sushi" not raw, and the hibachi platter that serves two or more, it came with lobster tails, scallops, steak, shrimp, the whole shabang. Tonight we went to yamamori. We have been there a couple times and order their all you can eat sushi there's sushi is excellent. The salmon is like butter and just so soft and smooth. We ordered a few rolls the Nemo, yamamori, rainbow. Everything was excellent. I love eating here. There yellowtail jalapeño and mango salmon are delicious appetizers. These are must orders. I like their avocado salad. A big plus and one thing that makes this place unique is their employees/weight staff. There are some of the nicest people at a restaurant that you will meet our waiter Anh was super friendly. Their manager started off as a waiter. He is a super fun guy. He makes dining experience great. He'll joke with you as well. Now that it is the Lenten season, we will definitely be back on a Friday. They take reservations and I highly recommend making one.
