Started the year off strong at this cute sushi spot. They had a lot of delicious speciality rolls. I got the coconut shrimp one, and the opportunity roll. They both tasted good but honestly fell a bit flat with the taste. The coconut shrimp roll unfortunately did not have any hints of coconut. The opportunity roll was good and came in a unique wrap instead of seaweed. The interesting thing about this place is their strong, yet cheap drinks.

Came to Sushi Lounge for lunch. The restaurant is unassuming from the inside but calm and modern on the inside. There are three TVs and a good looking bar. The service was friendly and quick. This is a solid spot for plant based/vegans or vegetarians as there are several options and a dedicated vegetarian sushi section. The also can replace white rice with brown rice if you're a whole foods plant based eater. I ordered the veggie combination roll (cucumber, avocado, kampyo - squash, asparagus and baby carrot) and the veggie delight (asparagus, carrot, avocado topped with warm inari - sweet tofu). Both were excellent. The edamame was also great. I will definitely come back and try other options as well as their sake flight.

Sushi lounge is a great spot if you are looking to go to impress on a date or if you want sushi with a cool, hip atmosphere. There is a full service bar that can make any cocktail you like, which is rare for a sushi spot I would say. The sushi is good, but the rolls are on the smaller side and they are a bit overpriced. As far as sushi restaurants go, I enjoy coming here once or twice a year, but have my other go to locations in town if I want a bit more 'bang for my buck'. I recommend you stop by here and try it out!

We were visiting Hoboken for the first time yesterday and went to the Sushi Lounge for dinner. We did make a reservation in advance, which was good since the restaurant was packed! They had a dj playing music upstairs and since there were lots of people it was very loud and hard to hear each other. We started with the pork dumplings for an appetizer and they were very tasty! I personally ordered 3 sushi rolls; avocado roll, Philadelphia roll, and the spicy shrimp roll. All of the rolls were extremely flavorful and had fresh ingredients. We really enjoyed the food here and will be back if we are in Hoboken again!

I have always loved coming to this Sushi Lounge for the past couple of years now. Nice ambiance. Nice workers. Nice bar seating; which I love sitting at whenever I'm alone; which isn't often. The food was good. I forgot the name of the drink I initially ordered. It was cute, but didn't taste great, to me. As one of the severs said, "It tastes like medicine". I couldn't agree more because it really did. Super syrupy taste that I did not care for. However, I was able to opt out for something more my liking. Of course I'd revisit. :)

The sushi here is average; I find it bizarre that for a sushi dinner platter, I was forced to order strictly one type of fish--what's the fun in that? The ambiance is unappealing, with ambiguous thumping muzak and horrible flourescent lighting. The bartender was nice and attentive; the only highlight. Good sushi isn't easy to come by in Hoboken and JC; alas, this ain't it.

Great dinner deal for Hudson Restaurant Week - $40 for an appetizer, 2x speciality rolls, and a mochi dessert (there were other entree options, but the special rolls were a great deal!). The Peking Duck crepe appetizer was just OK; the duck was overcooked and tough. But the extensive list of speciality rolls made up for it. I liked both rolls that I had - the Atomic Roll (tuna, jalapeno, avocado, mango and spicy mayonnaise wrapped in chili soy paper) and Spicy Banana Tempura (spicy tuna and banana tempura topped with white tuna, wasabi tobiko & a kabayaki sauce).

We went for happy hour on Wednesday and enjoyed the half priced martinis! Everything was really good and our server was wonderful and patient with us. Very nice.

Decent sushi. Maybe a little overpriced for what it is. It's nice the find a place that also serves cocktails. Most are BYOB here.

Saka has a solid offer of Any 3 Rolls for ~$20. Their selection of rolls is more limiting than other places; would love if they had yellowtail or scallop as options at lunch. Nonetheless, the rolls I got were solid! The fish was fresh and the portion was great, the rice layer wasn't thick at all which is a big factor for me, and to my surprise, it came with both a miso soup & salad. The miso soup was pretty flavorful compared to others I've had and the salad came with a sesame dressing that was so refreshing with the crisp salad. I should've kept my order at that as the Crispy Spicy Salmon wasn't worth it. The crispy rice was slightly too hard/over-fried and the portion of spicy salmon was so tiny. The rice layer should be fully topped with salmon, unlike what they gave. It didn't taste half bad but I'd probably skip it next time. If you order for delivery, their insulated packaging is great for transport and temperature control. Solid try!

The menu kind of reflects this struggle too, as it can't seem to decide if it wants to offer more traditional Japanese sushi-ya fare or something more innovative. As a result, we kind of wound up with the middling middle with our choice of 4 specialty rolls: 1) Saku: Probably the best and most traditional of our rolls with salmon and avocado inside, and ponzu, chives and crispy shallots on the outside. 2) Lobster: Not enough lobster salad inside to justify the overuse of miso-yuzu mayo, and just a whole ton of filler nonsense going on outside wrapped in pink soy paper. 3) Drop It Like Its Hot: Not spicy enough to justify the cute name. This should've been an easy slam dunk in flavor, but everything felt kind of bland and flat. Maybe due to the lack of nori. 4) Crunch Drunk Love: Lots of fish, but again, not enough flavor. We also got the Edamame with Spicy Miso Butter, which was just OK--the butter was weirdly sour. I wouldn't order it again. In fact, I....wouldn't really order anything here again.

I placed this order on UberEats and each item was $4 more than if you order directly from the restaurant. I had a coupon which made it worth it but otherwise, I would recommend ordering direct. The Maki Roll Combo B is a pretty solid mix of rolls. The Spicy Tuna & Salmon Avocado are my usually go-to's and were both delicious! The fish was fresh, the rice layer was thin, and it was super filling. The Eel Cucumber was terrible and was sadly thrown out. There was so little eel and the parts I could taste were so fatty and not fresh. I also got 2 Signature Rolls which tasted good and satisfied my craving but nothing to write home about. If you're looking for "more dressed" rolls then you might enjoy it and it's reasonably priced when you order Any 2 or 3! The miso soup & ginger salad they came with were also nice complimentary additions. Again, not the best I've had but does the job. Decent try but I don't think it'll be my go-to.
