Sushi by Bou Hoboken never misses. Service is always a 10/10. We're regulars now and always request Sean, the sushi chef. There aren't enough good things to say about him! His creativity and attention to detail make every visit special. He even creates new menus with us to keep our nigiri experience exciting and fresh. Yesterday's favorite was the tuna with quail egg, Japanese dressing, and furikake seasoning, absolute perfection. Also want to shout out Kevin, who I believe is the manager and mixologist here. His cocktails are just as impressive as the sushi, creative, balanced, and absolutely delicious. The hip-hop music sets the perfect vibe, my boyfriend and I love it. Great food, great energy, and even better people. Our favorite nigiri spot in NJ!

Loved the mix of sushi & 90's Hip Hop vibes The Sushi by Bou chain in Hoboken is a hidden spot located in the W Hoboken! There are 90s inspired decor and murals commissioned by local Japanese artist! The interior has limited seating so reservations are recommended but unlike some of its sister stores, there is room to move around and you aren't in anyone's space. I've been to a few locations before and I really enjoyed this one!! My experience was amazing - our sushi chef was really inclusive; he let us use the torch for the fish and even "cheers" with us a few times! And of course, the fish was super fresh and the blueberry sake sour that I got was so tasty! This would be a trendy spot to bring your friends for a delicious and affordable omakase in NJ! (You should also watch for any special offers that sushi by bou offers - they had a BOGO promotion when I went!)

Hip hop gangster hideout at W hotel good vibe with great music. Our Omakase prepare by Chef Uriel, a young man from Mexico was into Japanese food scenes since 16. Mixologies by Mikey from Brit's. Experience is pleasant with attention to details on all Nigiri. Only shortcoming is a bit rush for 60min as another group is inbounding.

The restaurant's ambiance was wonderfully atmospheric, enhanced by the lighting. The special cocktails complemented the delicious and fresh sushi. It was absolutely delicious. While the reservation system made the service feel attentive but 60 minutes felt rushed... there wasn't even enough time to chat or take photos.

Food (4/5): Awesome 12 course Omakase that we got through an online bingo offer. My favorite was the ebi and the uni. It was also fun to sear some of the fish! Service (5/5): The host was funny, energetic and accommodating. He did a good job of organizing everyone. Our chef was also a friendly person who did a good job of conversing with us while making the sushi. Ambiance (5/5): It's a small shop and you essentially get seated on a rotating basis when your reservation comes up. The decorations inside were a cool mix of Japanese and American culture. Really enjoyed the lighting and the way the place was presented.

Closer to 3.5 stars. My hubby & I have been wanting to try this spot for a while. Quick walk from the train was ideal. Once inside the space was smaller than expected. The music was great 90s/2000s. If you arrive early you may want to wait elsewhere as the waiting area is tight. We arrived 15-20 mins early for our 8pm resy & were offered to sit & drink menus. We were not seated until 812pm. The sushi was fresh and the options were not bad for the price point. Our chef only told us what the fish was, no real explanation or story or chit chat. After we were asked if we wanted any extra pieces. We were shocked when we were told we could only receive 2 extra pieces per person and that our time was up. The experience is supposed to be a hour, we lost 12 mins waiting for other parties and were shorted the rest of our time. We did not receive a full hour along with being told heres the check please move to the waiting area to make room for the next guests. We weren't offered to upgrade our experience either. We did stop by a diner after. Recap for price the food was good. However timing and more customer service needs to be worked on. Allow a 15 min buffer between seatings so you can have more than 2 extra pieces or offer a to go bag for the extras.

Sushi by Bou - Hoboken NJ @ W Hotel in Hoboken, NJ. Have you ever noticed a discrete black door when you enter the Hoboken W Hotel ? Once you open it, you are totally transformed. The vibes are vibing once you sit down and have an amazing hand crafted cocktail. The sushi is so beyond fresh and love how interactive the sushi chefs are. My mom even got to blow torch some wagyu! Super fun, always delicious and very memorable! (Insta: @thehungrysw)

Great experience! I believe this is the 3rd location I've been to and they all have the same awesome vibe! Small and cozy as seating is limited - resy is required! Servers are very nice and the chefs are great at explaining everything and making it an even more fun experience. I usually enjoy 12 course and add 1 to 2 more pieces depending on my mood! Would absolutely recommend!!

10/10 experience 10/10 food Sushi by Bou brings the nostalgia of hibachi for us millennials with the craze of sushi! The experience is fun yet intimate. Our sushi chef Sean was so friendly and interactive. We were greeted by the staff and promptly offered drinks. They made you feel at home from the moment you walked in. The set up was casual but celebratory! We were sat promptly according to our reservation. The menu was explained to us as well as the interactive experience. It was so fun! The sushi was delicious and some of the freshest I have ever had. I will not be able to have "regular" sushi now. Whether it's for a celebration or just a night out it is worth it! So much fun!

Great value for omakase! Fun hosts/waiters/bartender/chefs. Really great vibe with 90s hip hop. The actual fish was fresh. Highly recommend the "bougie" package for $100 / person. The premium additions may have been my favorites among the obvious fatty tuna. Really happy to have a great omakase option so close to home. And of all the ones we have done this may have been the most fun vibe including the usual favorites in NYC.

Though it looks like I'll be the outlier with a 4 star review here, its warranted in my opinion as there is definite room for improvement. To get in, you must make a reservation in Open Table. Due to limited seating and days open, its the only way to do it, unless you want to dine in for 1 and then you may get lucky enough to snag something last minute. I will tell you that it is some of the best sushi I've ever had in my life and I've had sushi in many places. Incredibly fresh. I also love how the sushi chef adds a tiny bit of wasabi and a brush of soy sauce (like REALLY good soy sauce) on the pieces for you. Talk about service! I personally had trouble understanding what I was being served because the chef spoke quickly and the music was a decent volume (my style music, 90s and 2000's hip hop so I was jammin). Luckily, there is a list on the wall if you notice it. The space and the timing however, takes away from the experience of it, hence the loss of a star. The challenge is that one seating ends and starts at the same time so they are a little crazed to get ready. They seat you exactly at about five minutes after your reservation time while the two sushi chefs get ready to serve you. Once they are ready, it's rapidfire. You dont really get time to savor the flavors because you can barely keep up with the pace in which they are coming at you. By about 40 minutes, which goes by very quickly, they are just done serving you (like no heads up that you're done, no thank you, no nothing, its just heads down prepping for the next group, which was a bit awkward. We had the 18 piece and wasnt sure if we were done or not). With about 15 mins left in your hour the server and host starts to go around collecting payment. While they tell you you can sit and have a post dinner drink, thats comical because the one couch is already beginning to fill with folks for the next hour seating. I would recommend not getting there too early. The number of seats on the couch barely equal the seats at the sushi bar. When its full its awkward. They make you sit there until they bring you to the bar. Like not stand, you must sit. I felt like I was in elementary school the way they kept coming over and telling me to sit down. There really wasnt much room and people had to move over so we could sit. If you want to drink before dinner, do that in the lobby bar or at the bar at Halifax. They only have one bartender so its unlilkely, unless youre the first 2-4 people for your reservation that you'll be able to get a drink. Because we arrived about 5 mins before our seating, the bartender was so backed up that we didn't get a drink until 15 minutes after service started. So, here it is folks. Why I gave this experience 4 stars. I would go back if someone invited me, though I am not sure I'd run back any time soon. The sushi was incredible and kinda ruins other places for me now haha. Its an experience - try it out!

If you've ever had Omakase before this isn't the place for you. Though the food was decent there is much better Omakase than this chain restaurant with a mediocre menu. The food was all pretty one note with not much differentiation between courses except different fishes. There were no different textures and anything either had wasabi or Nori. If you're looking for good Omakase travel to Manhattan. The best Omakase I've ever had is 13 waters. Anyone who wants really great Omakase at an amazing price should go there instead!

I had my first Sushi by Buo experience in the W Hotel location. I was surprised that I was able to come across a 7 pm reservation for 2 on a Friday night less than a week out. After reading and hearing reviews from previous diners about feeling rushed on time, we opted to do the 12 course menu. We got to the hotel 10 minutes before 7 pm and had a seat at their waiting tables. The bartender and runners were slow to come over and give us a drink menu/offer to take our order. We each ordered a cocktail - I tried the yuzu honey bee and my friend got the shiso southersider. I thought the honey bee was delicious! It seemed like the 6 pm seating ran behind a bit since we didn't get seated at the our stations until 5 minutes after 7 pm. Once we got seated, the chefs jumped right in to explain the preferred way to consume each course and the menu. It's a lot of fun getting to see them prepare each course and they let me use the blow torch to cook the beef for the surf & turf roll. I thought everything was delicious and fresh. My favorite piece was the fatty tuna. We opted to order an extra piece of that. The meal goes by fast and it's easy to get through 12 courses in the allotted hour. If I am to go back, I would try the 17 course. There's really not enough time to order more than 1 drink unless you are quickly throwing them back. Our chef was awesome and chatted with us throughout the meal. I wish the other servers had been a bit more attentive in the beginning about refilling water. Overall, it's a cool place and the food was awesome - great date night spot or special occasion. You need a reservation since its only 12 diners each sitting so definitely book several weeks in advance. You should plan to arrive 10 minutes early if you want to order a drink and have it by the time the meal gets started.

We got there shortly after they opened (4 pm), so it wasn't busy. On your way to the rooftop you'll pass through a nightclub, which reminded me of a discotheque reminiscent of Studio 54. I would have absolutely been a regular here back in the day. The Rooftop is spacious with plenty of places to chill & relax. I ordered a Cucumber Limonade $16 (Vodka, Cucumber, Lime, & Elderflower). It was crisp & refreshing. Perfect for this beautiful sunny day. My friend was right. The view was stunning - with sweeping views of the city and the harbor. We get that they have policies to follow, but it felt a bit unfair to penalize the entire group--especially since the rest of us weren't drinking or acting out of line. To make things more confusing, they came back later and said we could order alcohol after all, but by that point, the mood was already off and we decided to leave. The place didn't seem bad overall, but that experience definitely left a sour taste. Maybe we just caught them on a weird night. Wouldn't recommend especially being in the wine country.

The second issue is it got sickeningly loud inside. This was a sunday night, and I ended up having to shout just to be heard by the girl right next to me. Everything else was good! Though there wasn't a dish that just blew my mind, everything was consistently really good and enjoyable. I recommended ordering a handful of dishes and sharing with a group. The cornstar martini was fun (and the popcorn was great!), the vodka pasta, caesar salad, and truff fries were enjoyable as well. The cute matchboxes were a cherry on top as we were leaving! I would come back for more of a going out event instead of a sit down dinner, but it's a cool spot!

We thought mini golf was interactive, everyone had the same chance to play and it's simple enough without exerting too much energy (unlike an escape room or the dancing tiles which I also came across in my research). Great place for friends, families, dates of all ages. We checked in on the ground floor (also have a coat check here) and were told they have a cabin themed course on the 2nd floor and a museum themed course on the 3rd floor, but there was a party going on. They also told us about the rooftop lounge, which is covered with plastic and they have heaters blasting the space. We went with the cabin themed. Although I don't think they completely blocked the 3rd floor with the party, we just didn't want to have to compete with others and wanted a quiet experience. They have stairs or an elevator. Once we got to the 2nd floor, we were the only ones there and were explained how the digital scoring works. We inputted our names, and our scoreboard would follow us from board to board in sequence after we all punched in our scores. The max was 6 putts per course to help keep things moving (we definitely played more than 6 on some courses lol). The courses did progressively get more challenging as you moved on. The decor was beautiful. Fairy lights lined the space with murals or a ski lodge/mountains around with a polar bear and a ski mobile. Many cute photo ops. On the last course, once you made it, the game swallowed your ball, I guess to help prevent you from trying to play the course again. I wish there was more than 9 courses though. It was fun enough but maybe having a few more would have helped fill the time more. Time flew by and we had lots of laughs. Would be excited to come back to try the museum course next time.
