A neat little spot with fun, creative Asian-fusion dumplings, but the overall execution and pricing…read moreleft me a bit on the fence. The Good: The concept is cool, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into unconventional dumpling stuffings and unique flavor pairings. The Bad: For a casual dumpling and noodle joint, it ends up being surprisingly pricey. Also, some of the fusion flavor profiles can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on your palate--not every creative combo quite hits the mark. It's a fun spot to check out if you're looking to try something different, but given the price and mixed flavor results, I'm probably in no rush to make it a regular rotation.

I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!

sooo good, i'll probably come again…read more the wagyu sando was so soft and filling. it's an appetizer but i made it my meal lol. The garlic noodles were also really good- a bit salty but really good. i ended up dipping my sando into the sauce haha

Wanted to try Kat Khao for some time as we were craving some Vietnamese food. Granted, this isn't…read moretraditional Vietnamese food, but it's more Asian Fusion. First, the decor inside is really nice. Whoever handled the interior design did an excellent job. Really dope ambiance with the walls and lighting. To start, we ordered the Vegan Summer Rolls. This was really really good. Love how the rolls were generously filled with veggies. Made eating with chopsticks a little tougher, but a challenge worth pursuing. For the veggie meal, I went with the Crispy Eggplant. This is worth coming back for. It was a very generous portion, but you got a lot of kick with the five spice and the extra chili. Even though it's just eggplant, it fills you up without any doubt. Unfortunately, my other half wanted to try the prawns and it was a bit too difficult for her to eat because it was overcooked. Also, we tried the ube tiramisu and didn't really feel the fusion elements in it. It was okay, just nothing special. I'll come back for the eggplant and the summer rolls. If there's another veggie option in the fall, I may consider that. TBD on whether my other half will return though. 4 for me overall, but with caveats.

We got the three special roll deal that came with dumpling soup for free on Uber…read more The three special rolls were pretty selected which was a shame, it would have been preferable to pick. The three rolls were the Angry Shrimp, Salmon Lovers, and Samurai. The dumplings in the dumpling soup were actually shumai. The salmon Lovers roll was by far our favorite. The mango chili sauce on top was an amazing addition. The samurai roll was fine. Very tuna-y. I just dont like tuna enough to appreciate this one as much but if you do love tuna you'd love this one. The Angry Shrimp roll was weird. It tasted decent, but was just very wet. I think they just drowned it in too much sauce. And the shumai in the soup was a pleasant surprise for me because I love shumai, but my partner doesn't so he wa disappointed with that. The soup does not say that the dumplings are shumai in the description. Overall, we were impressed. We dont normally get special rolls, but we decided to splurge tonight and mostly were not disappointed. Would return.

This place has great Uber Eats buy one get one deals. We got 2 samurai sushi sets, 2 Red Bull rolls, 2 kamakazi rolls and 2 samurai roll. All included in the bogo deal - what's a steal! The sushi sets included 10pc chef's choice nigiri. All 10pcs were delicious! We both agreed that the eel was our favorite. All the rolls were large and tasty. I wasn't expecting much from this place but I'm really pleasantly surprised. Samurai sushi is a great addition to the neighborhood. They have tables both inside and outside. The staff is also very nice.
