This is absolutely my favorite sushi place in Worcester, maybe even all of Worcester County. It's a small restaurant, BYOB - often we do takeout. I am amazed that by the freshness of everything, particularly the fish. I like traditional sushi with raw fish, no mayo or cream cheese or added sauces. Their sashimi is reliably delicious. If you are looking for authentic, fresh sushi this is the place to go. The staff is incredibly friendly and very professional. read more

Truly first rate fish, whether you getting something straightforward or trying one of their inventive creations. This is high end sushi, not standard fare, but the prices are absolutely reasonable. Their respect for the fish means that something seemingly basic. Like a spicy tuna roll, is creating with slices of fish wish excellent spicy mayonnaise next to it, rather than mixed in. As a result you get much more flavor. We also got an inventive chefs special roll that similarly was based on actually pairing flavors rather than just loading as many things as possible in to sound creative. It's only a mater of time until Worcester Mag puts this place as the top sushi joint around. Thee most delicious raw fish I've had in Worcester. Perfect consistency, perfect temperature, and BYOB too so you know it's going to be a good time. There was a good 30 minute wait but we walked to the liquor store a block over and grabbed some ginger libation. Seating was slightly cramped (this place is tiny), but no one, including myself seemed to mind any of these mild inconveniences. This is my go to recommendation for sushi in Worcester hands down. I'm off and on with reviewing, but since I'm constantly on yelp trying to remember Sushi Miyazawa's hours - I thought I should comment. This is one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to, and I've been to some fantastic ones. It's just the kind of restaurant most chefs dream of opening. There are very few seats, very few menu items, and some of the best ingredients to make quality sushi. There are a lot of restaurants that have quality sushi, but know they have to make a larger menu to cater to the masses. Sushi Miyazawa doesn't do that, and I think they're better for it. I have yet to try the omakase menu, mainly because I've been obsessed with the tatare roll. I also have to give a shout out to their delicious toro selection which just melts in your mouth. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Definitely taking the title for best sushi in Worcester. Yes, I said it, sorry baba. So fresh and delicious. I usually get sashimi or nigiris on the menu. Only thing is, they may or may not have toro and uni on certain days so I usually call ahead to make sure. One down fall is that their toro quality does vary.. some days are better than others. I also get their specialty rolls which I am super impressed with how innovative they are (not just your typical dragon roll or whatever). They also offer omakase! And it's reasonably priced too. Don't expect to get any crab rangoons or fried rice here.. they SPECIALIZE in sushi (which is great). They're also BYOB, so make sure you grab some sake! My wife and I come here once weekly. Incredible value, quality. I have yet to find better sushi in Mass. The service is consistently fantastic and the sushi chefs are skilled and accommodating. Love this place! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The sushi is of great quality and I really appreciate that their specials change frequently. I love more tradition sushi, so raw everything without too much sauce and tempura overpowering the fish. When I want to splurge, I'll ask for the omakase with more traditional sushi. Extremely fresh and delicious sushi for sure a 10/10 in my book. First impression when walking in, it was small and dark but kept clean. The sushi chef and waitress kindly greeted us right away and seated us. Me and my friends wanted to try the omakase which allows the chef to create any rolls or sashimi he feels that will please your palette. You can tell him what you like and don't like before he starts, it is a minimum of $35. So worth every penny. Chef Nori started us off with a cold crab meat and shrimp salad, following that with, miso soup, sea bass sashimi, then an assortment of sushi. We told him that we like uni so he was sure to include fresh delicious uni for us. Only problem I found was that the waitress did not know about anything she was serving us... which was awkward when we asked her what certain things were and she said didn't know ... A new BYOB you have to put on the top of your list - so don't forget to stop by the liquor store on your way. Sushi Miyazawa is an intimate spot to enjoy some super fresh sushi. Beware: there is only seating for about 16 people including the 5 spots at the sushi bar so if you get there at a busy time with a party larger than 4 you might have to wait a bit. But don't let that deter you- it will be worth your while. Besides a few appetizers, they pretty much only offer varieties of sushi and sashimi. They have a cool thing on their menu where you give the server a price point and the Chef Nori designs a meal for you based on the price you want to pay and your likes/dislikes. We weren't adventurous enough to try that-but we did enjoyed all the rolls placed in front of us. Our favorite? The volcano roll. We weren't impressed at all. There's a weird smell walking in (lingering old building smell that isn't a problem next door at Nancy Chang's). The menu was a mess and didn't have a lot of the regular go-to's. The tea we ordered was really good, but the sushi was pretty bad. It ranged between okay and horrible (We got 4 rolls to share). This place just opened in mid-May, and we've been back twice already. It shares a building with Nancy Chang, and it's so tiny you could miss it, but it's truly amazing. It's the freshest, most delicious sushi we've found in Worcester. Plus, the service is always attentive and helpful. We love Sushi Miyazawa so much we wanted to give it some internet love, even though we're risking other people discovering how great it is and making it increasingly less likely we'll be able to get in again. First time trying it out. Restaurant is small and intimate. We went on a Tuesday night really quiet and no wait. We had the sushi hand roll as an appetizer, three hand rolls for $11. We both had a couple rolls that were basic but were excellent. I also had a volcano roll and we did the the sushi nigiri omakase. Delicious and fresh. We followed with dessert,some green tea and black sesame ice cream. The black sesame was the hit but we were informed they won't be serving that flavor any longer.
