Got this to go. The salad wasn't it. Just basic lettuce like those ready to go ones at the grocery stores. The miso wasn't bad it was standard and not too salty or anything, but i didn't see any small pieces of tofu. I got the Maki C and it comes with the tiger eye, shaggy dog, and firecracker roll. I didn't like how they put so much of the crumbs on top of the sushi, it was messy and unnecessary. The tiger eye I feel like lacked flavor and I could most definitely taste the jalapeno in it and the texture of it didn't really blend with the roll. Overall, you do get a good price for sushi here. It's not the best tasting and quality but it's a little bit above HEB or grocery store sushi. read more

I ordered three rolls to go today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I picked rolls where the flavors weren't what you typical see at more casual sushi restaurants and two of the three were definitely not typical! I really liked the Super Duper Roll and the fresh, citrusy taste of the Yuzu Yellowtail roll was very good. I'll be honest the kamikaze wasn't my thing but it's not bad, just not for my personal taste. We are always looking for new places to try and I would order from Sushi Monster again! read more

Nut allergy friendly as far as I know! We went here to celebrate a friend's graduation. I don't drive down to Missouri City much, but this was worth it! Upon being seated, we were told they recently got brand new menus! A shout-out to the server Jane who is fluent in Chinese and made my friends feel very welcome. We were also greeted by the chef, who used to work at a well known Houston sushi restaurant. The drinks are very reasonably priced at $3-5/beer. With a solid happy hour menu, I could see this restaurant being very popular on weekends. We got salad, soups, and edamame to start out. The sushi boat for two and appetizers were a good amount of food for three people. I got to sample some friends' sushi as well. Some notes below: Salad: They use a house-made miso ginger dressing that is phenomenal. One of my friends that hates salad finished hers. Miso and mushroom/onion soup: True to expectations. The onion soup used a combination of mushroom, onion, and fried onion that led to a very umami flavor that is reminiscent of soup used for Udon noodles. Sushi Sashimi Combo for Two: I'm not sure if we got extra for celebrating a graduation but we got a whole boat! I counted three rolls, 5 sets of 2 nigiri, and 4 sets of 3 sashimi. I think we got one extra roll for the celebration. All of the fish tasted great, with the highlight being the white tuna. I got to sample one piece of each roll from another order of the 5 Cooked Roll Combo. All of them were pretty good if you like cooked/baked rolls - a bit too heavy for me after sharing the sushi boat. We finished the meal with some mochi, which I thought was okay but I would've preferred without the whipped cream. We got to select two different flavors. I was too full at this point. Sushi monster has become my new go-to for sushi. It's a smaller more intimate location in Sienna. I live close by so I had to try it out. Been back 5 time since then lol I keep it pretty simple when I go. My most recent visit I took my oldest daughter. We started with onion soup (she loves it) and spring rolls. Then we ordered a couple California rolls and a crunchy roll. Everything was delicious and fresh. I have also tried the shaggy dog roll and the shrimp tempura roll both are solid. My wife typically orders Mai-Thais at sushi spots but this location is beer and wine only. Obviously, saki is available as well. Service has always been good and friendly which is always a huge plus. No happy hour during the week but it's all day on the weekends. I would recommend this location for sure. read more

We love coming here! Weather it's to go or dine in Everything is always fresh and the service is always good. There are days the wait is a bit long but to me it's worth it! I liked the food from here. Everything was incredibly tasty. The soft shell crab must be eaten fresh. Honestly I would not even suggest you order it as a takeout item. It got quite soggy. Also the owner was super cool with us making our own combination. I hope they will create a banana and mango roll... which I may tell the owner the ingredients and see if he can make it. Recently I tried: Yummy yummy roll: I would suggest this roll if you like crab mix, I don't so I wasn't crazy about it. The fried crawfish on top is yummy. Osaka Salmon Roll: THIS is my FAVORITE roll here. Also available with tuna instead of Salmon. Crazy Irishman: I originally ordered this roll because I thought it did not have rice (in an attempt to be somewhat healthy ha ha) but it actually has rice in it. It's pretty good. read more

Blue Fin belly, like all fish bellies, is the fatties, tastiest part of the Blue Fin, but in no way tastes like Toro. Ordering Toro and getting Blue Fin belly is like ordering and paying for Kobe Filet and getting Angus Filet. Once again, another non-Japanese owner misrepresents to improve profits. Sushi monster is conveniently located to my home to keep me coming back with less than stellar experiences but not good enough to make me seek out the restaurant other than when I don't want to leave the neighborhood. I'd say the restaurant over all is just so-so. Their sushi is okay but not fresh. The rice on the sushi rolls is always served cold which is a good indicator to me it's old rice. The spicy tuna roll is flavored nicely but the non-spicy rolls are just plain bland. Their online ordering system is easy but they don't have delivery which I'm fine with, it's close. Their lunch specials are a good price. $11 for soup, salad and 2 rolls. $14 for soup, salad and 3 rolls. They also have bento boxes but I haven't tried those. read more

I had the absolute worst service tonight. We sat for 20 minutes and I finally had to make eye contact with the hostess which made her tell the lazy server who had to begrudgingly come to our table where he asked for our entire order. So to avoid even worse service we gave him our drink, app, and entrees. We waited another 15 minutes and no water. I had to get up and tell the hostess we had gotten no water or anything. She went and got our water. Then a while later all of our entrees and apps came out at the same time. Actually the edamame came out after our entrees. The server came over once and you could tell he'd rather be anywhere but working. He softly asked "y'all don't want anything right?" Actually we need water. He brought out multiple peoples entrees, cleaned a few tables and still never brought our water. We had to go up to him say we still need water. But did he stop? No he continued to clean the table and almost started another table to clean until I gave him a stare. We had to go again and ask the hostess we need water and she runs into the lazy server with a pitcher and he rolls his eyes at her when she asked if he was getting us water. He brought the check and said nothing. No sorry no thanks for coming. We left and told who I assume was the owner and the hostess it was the worst service ever and I saw how he rolled his eyes at her. They said sorry, didn't offer much more which was odd. You'd think they'd want as much of Siennas business as possible . What I experienced tonight was a disgrace. Do better sushi monster. Fire that guy because he just made you lose a loyal customer. He obviously doesn't need a job or understand what it means to earn your tip. read more
