I stopped by to try the cuisine at this Chinese/Japanese restaurant. The interior is nothing special. But they did receive an A from the city inspector which is always a plus. I tried the General Tso chicken with steamed rice and the appetizer spicy popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was piping hot and had a mild taste. The texture of the chicken seemed off, the same for the General Tso, The service was good my food came out in reasonable amount of time. I was asked how much heat I wanted on the popcorn chicken. After saying spicy I thought to myself, maybe I should have said mild? My personal feelings regarding this businesses that it is average. It is not my intention to provide a mediocre rating what having as much information as possible. Therefore, I will come to the restaurant again and two different dishes. We've been slowly trying all the Chinese places in the neighborhood and finally got to this spot this week. It's pretty good, standard American Chinese menu- but I think the flavor of the dark sauce dishes are much better then other spots nearby. We ordered beef and vegetables and while most places would of thrown in the standard stir fry mix, they have a boring broccoli and carrot mix, that wouldn't need definition from "Beef and Broccoli " BUT the sauce and tenderness of each beef slice was really delicious and was much better then beef dishes at Panda Garden, Cafe Goo Yen, Raki, or Bamboo. Our other dishes were pretty good too, appetizers seemed made in house as well, at many spots they're frozen and just reheated. We'll be back! read more

It's good for lunch specials but nothing spectacular. Today I tried the salmon teriyaki $10 but it was on the dry side. I think it was slightly breaded and fried with sauce on top. Disappointing. Nicely cooked vegetables though. Also tried the Thai spicy chicken and shrimp! It's got a slight curry spice and comes with 4 shrimp and a very generous amount of fresh green beans. I really could not have been more disappointed. This review is entirely for the Chinese side of the menu, but I probably should have know that a combo Japanese / Chinese restaurant may not make both the best. My true disappointment lied with the fried rice and the "Soft Noodles". We ordered the combo version of both of these, and as soon as I opened the containers, I knew they were going to be weak. The color just want not right, it was so light, you could tell the flavor was not going to be there.... and its not like it was almost there, it was just missing all together. I expected the noodles to be like a Lo Mein, which i think they were going for, but I like my lo mein a little oily, umami, and flavorful... this was not at all. We also had the beef with broccoli and the sesame chicken, neither of which really hit home for me. There are a lot of other Chinese restaurants in the area, and I would definitely try one of them before going here. read more

My husband had shrimp and scallops in black bean sauce and it too, had no flavor. I see other reviews recommending the sushi. We used to go here a lot, but we moved and it's a much further drive down Highway 6 (or the highway to hell). On a whim, we went back and I had totally forgotten how good they are. I had the sushi and hubs had pepper steak. Everything was absolutely delicious. Well worth the extra drive. We'd been trying different sushi places in Sugar Land and nothing so far compares. I had the two roll lunch special with hot and sour soup. I just can't rave enough. It had been at least 4 years since we've been there. The server recognized us and hugged us glad to see us after so long. My rolls were fresh and good, well rolled and delicious. I would do it again today if I could. I haven't been out to eat in a while (been busy with work and life) so when Jordan suggested trying Hana instead of our usual sushi spot , I was kinda nervous. Food: for the appetizer we got the gyoza , first course was the Godzilla roll and the A&M roll , and the main course we shared the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice (all picture) Wait: It was Thursday evening and there's was only one other party dining. No wait due to the self-seating Atmosphere: Casual and intimate in size, family friendly and date-friendly Cost: All inclusive $42.01 Service: The waitress and owner were very attentive and checked on us often between plates so 10/10 And it gets better , they offer TAKEOUT! The Godzilla roll was flavorful and the pieces were massive (in a good way) rather than minuscule like other restaurants. The A&M roll was great balancing flavor as it was full of fresh scallops , salmon and yellowtail. Usually with fresh fish, I get concerned that you'll taste/smell the "foul fishiness" of the fish (you know what I mean haha) but here at Hana that WAS NOT a problem. The gyoza were simple but a tasty opener and I really liked that the General Tso Chicken had 90% chicken and 10% breading and not the other way around. Love this place when my usual spot is closed for their lunch break. They have a great lunch special from 11-3 pm Monday's through Thursdays, nice quiet atmosphere, sweet staff, awesome lighting, great variety in their menu, overall just a very nice chill place. I've had the orange chicken before, which I totally recommend, but today I opted for the sushi lunch, a roll and 5 assorted pieces of sushi (plus a soup!) for $12.95 For a deal like that, I wasn't expecting the nicest cuts of fish on my nigiri, but I was so impressed! On a side note, the hot and sour soup is one of the spiciest I've ever had, but it was SO good, it just left me with a very pleasant constant glow in my mouth. I used to visit here quite often with my family pre-COVID. My dad is usually picky about ordering food at restaurants because he is a restaurant owner himself. However, this was one of the few restaurants my dad actually insisted on repeatedly visiting. I also used to eat here often with friends back in my senior year of high school. Their sushi is overall pretty solid. Their sashimi (especially the salmon) is quite fresh and fatty with barely any signs of a fishy aftertaste. I also highly enjoyed the rolls here, especially the Godzilla and Shaggy Dog rolls. The rolls are a sufficient size and have the perfect ratio of rice to filling. The rice also has a good consistency -- not too dry and not too wet. This place isn't as well known as Keepers or Japaneiro's, but I definitely think it deserves the same level of recognition. The food here is as good, if not better, than most of the "popular" sushi restaurants in Sugar Land. read more

I like coming here for lunch. They have really good lunch specials and they have my favorite crab puffs! I usually get a Chinese lunch combo but once in a while I'll do a bento box or sushi. I love their salad dressing! The only con is that most of the time the lettuce is way too wet so at the bottom of the salad it's all water mixed with the dressing. No issues other than that tiny one! Conveniently located right next to my job so whenever I'm craving sushi or Chinese take out, this is it. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I always have random cravings for egg drop soup and a California roll. Haha I know the basic bee stuff. They have lunch specials 7 days a week, 11-3pm I believe. And happy hour as well.
