I am a loyal customer of 4 years and know the owners very well. I'd like to apologize for any of you who had a bad experience in the past. For the people that are comparing the food to others. Last time I checked there different restaurants that have different cooks and recipes. All sushi joints are family owned and not corporate chains. They all probably use family recipes. That's what separates businesses. When you complain about the prices, I laugh. Because, the prices are very similar to everyone else in the Tri-Citie. In fact, sushimori's rolls are actually bigger than most places, so you do get your moneys worth. If you go to a big town, expend to pay $10-$12 rolls. For the person that saw the Costco salmon, they do serve salmon teriyaki. For the person that's complaining about servers doing homework. Shame on you for discrediting someone getting an education while learning how to earn money and have a job. I'm sure most of you were like that at one point in your life. Going to school, trying to earn money and survive financially. I know plenty of high school kids that don't do their homework, don't have a job. Those kids you should complaint about. That's who we are leaving the future to. Sushimori is not just sushi. They do offer a selection of teriyaki and yakisoba for those narrow minded people who do not want to try sushi. One bad experience should not keep you from going back. So come back, get to know the owners because they actually appreciate their customer and know the regulars by name. read more

Only thing worth it's buck are the tiny maki rolls with a piece of tuna inside and nothing else. Everything else tastes like a poor imitation of sushi. There's a reason why another competitor shares the same parking lot. One trip here and you will pray the other spot is better... and it is. Everything else on the menu is way overpriced and doesn't live up to the prices set expectations. Get the same quality across the street at the mall where teens are putting rice in sushi moldings to look authentic. Me, hubby and Mom went here after seeing a movie @ Carmike and none of our food came out right. They still cannot beat Bento for Teriyaki and Don Katsu. The food was way overcooked that made the meat bitter and hard to eat... Its okay if only one meal was overcooked but all of our 3 orders were, the bland katsu and teriyaki sauce didnt help much. I didnt care also for their salad with weird tasting salad dressing that I figured Thousand Island with only Catsup and Mayo on it and maybe some vinegar too. It didn't even have any tofu or seaweed in it! The other dishes were a little more expensive than I'm used to for sushi; especially in comparison with the quality B. Favorites are the salmon teriyaki and sunshine roll. The servers are always friendly and they remember me when I come in! The green tea is fantastic and rich. It's opaque in color and a deep green! I love sushi. Hard to believe I've lived in the Tri-Cities for so long and have not had sushi here. Well for most of my time there haven't been many options. Well, tonight (Saturday) I was up for trying something new, and I was thinking sushi. Unfortunately, it was late....well 8:30pm is late for the Tri-Cities, and our choices were scarily limited. Gave a call to Sushi Mori and they said they were open till 9pm and that they still take take away orders. So, I ended up ordering about (4) rolls, (1)nigiri, & a miso soup. They said it would be ready in 15 min. We ended up getting there a little late, but it was no problem. It was closing time, but there were 20 people still in the dining area. After we got home, I have to say that Sushi Mori didn't disappoint. Finally sushi in the Tri-Cities. The Spider, Shrimp Tempura, and California Rolls were on point, and I got totally stuffed munching on them. Now I have a long list of other rolls to try on future trips. Let's do it. Oh, one mistake which happened was that instead of a Chicken Teriyaki Roll, I ended up getting a Chicken Teriyaki plate....I made my order from the Sushi Mori website (they also have a store on the "west side"). Adore this little gem! So glad that we have good sushi and Japanese food here! Totally love the Cali crunch too but my family goes nuts for their Vegas roll (fried with cooked salmon), ichi roll (eel with this crazy good eel sauce that tastes like teriyaki), and geisha (fried with cream cheese). Also they had a very flavorful udon which is awesome because there are many Japanese places that don't have udon. Lunch bentos are very affordable and I think this is place is so yummy and delicious without being super pricey like other sushi places. Though a new place has recently opened, in tricities there are not a lot of choices for Sushi, especially for lunch. We have eaten at Sushi Mori countless times. They have a good selection of rolls, and the salmon and tuna nigiri are typically very good. The service has always been outstanding. Our kids have gone with us a few times and enjoyed some of the tempura offerings. We probably eat lunch here more than any other single place in the area. We've never been disappointed. read more

When ever I think sushi, I think Sushi Mori. This place is the best in town! Better than Mizu, Sushi Ya, Sakura, Osaka and Subs n Jean. Combined! Even when I have sushi out of town, even out of state, I always compare to Sushi Mori because they are the best and the portion size is more than generous. And I've had a lot of sushi. Small, maybe a dozen small tables, but well laid out it provides pretty decent sushi for the price. Sushi is all about the rice and Sushi Mori makes decent tasting rice; slightly sweet with a pleasant mouth feel. Their fish is fresh with a clean taste with reasonable prices to make the overall experience good. My wife and I also like the bento plates which feature good portions, lots of variety (some sushi, gyoza or eggroll, salad, sop etc.) and fast service. Coming from Hawai'i, it's super hard to find a sushi place that meets my standards.. Especially in eastern Washington. The servers are nice, but don't really engage with the customers. We were greeted upon entering, which I liked; however, didn't give us any type of direction. Then we kind of awkwardly stood there for a minute until we decided to seat ourselves. Although our server was nice, only saw him 3 times after he sat us: 1. To take our order, 2. To give us our food, 3. To give us our check. Not once did he come by to refill our waters or ask how our food was. Anyways, fast forward to the food. I ordered the Las Vegas and Geisha rolls. Their ahi looks super fresh, and didn't taste old, which is definitely a good thing. I think that was the one thing I was worried about since we're nowhere near any type of ocean. The Vegas roll was too heavy for me.. It had cream cheese and was also deep fried.. So it became a burden to finish. Also, the rice in this roll seemed to be a bit mushy for my liking. This roll was $12.95, which I think is way overpriced. The Geisha roll was pretty good, and just that roll was a lot, but I still think $12 was a bit of a long stretch. I admit there are few sushi places that I like even outside of the impressive options offered here in the tri cities, but I do love good sushi. Mori is not good sushi, BUT they could be. When we went, the fish was wonderful, but the rice was not sushi-ready... It wasn't much better than grocery store sushi. Atmosphere was nice and was what you'd like a sushi place to be. There was not a visible sushi bar (or chef) though which made their process invisible and mysterious though our waitress was nice and attentive. Bad, bad sushi with an insane price tag. This is generally what to expect in Tri-Cities/e WA, but this is crazy. We left with $60 to-go bag that weighed nothing. Got home to find little grocery store sushi boxes, some of which were old--definitely pre-rolled. Very small rolls, bad sauces, over-vinegared sushi rice, and the least fish I've ever seen in sushi rolls. We regretted not buying pre made sushi from Costco, which is something we never do. Sushi is my favorite. Been to a lot of sushi joints. This is the worst I've ever had. If a halfway decent sushi place opened here, I'm not sure if Tri-Cities would know the difference, based on these glowing reviews for trashi. However, I give them only two stars for the theme of being fast food, avocado-mill sushi dumbed-down for the less-experienced Tri-Cities crowd. This is NOT a quality sushi "bar", as some have reviewed it to be. There is no bar to sit at and watch a real expert prepare fresh sushi. They do falsely advertise serving real crab, when it is really that fake Krab-fish-blend. That is a bit dishonest. While I use to I recommend the fish rice, it is now half the original size, for the same price, AND they "cut" the fresh salad greens with that deplorable ICEBERG LETTUCE crap! One of the first true Sushi bars in town was a warm welcome to many, my kids love eating here and we have had birthday gatherings here as well. Great service great prices great portions and very clean. Not to mention the Sushi its yummy. Love this place.
