The uni pasta had deliciously fresh uni, but fascinatingly tasted like a slightly elevated kraft mac and cheese. My fiancée and I decided to try this place out when another sushi restaurant we tried going to was super packed on a Friday evening. It was complete empty here! There are a good amount of smaller tables but it seems like most people order to go. We shared the 24 piece nigiri set that comes with 3 rolls, miso soup, and salad. Nice local spot in LC for sushi that has various sushi sets, bentos, and handrolls that are served in a casual atmosphere. Came here with a buddy to unwind and catch up over some sushi. Parking is a bit scarce as the lot is quite small, but you might be able to snag some street parking. Orders can be placed on a tablet near the cashier station. The vibe of the place seemed to be more catered towards take out orders. Still, there was an ample amount of seating and the place had a very local and relaxed vibe. The chefs were kind enough to accomodate my friend's avocado allergy and were able to put the avocado on the side for us. The fish itself was quite fresh and good quality. However, I think the shari (aka sushi rice) wasn't up to par as the rice broke up quite easily and didn't keep its form very well. Still, my friend and I were able to enjoy the meal and kind service. Placed an online order for the 24 pc sushi and 3 rolls combo when I had a craving for sushi. Got a notification in 20 minutes that my order was ready to be picked up. The sushi platter also comes with 3 miso soups and 3 salads. The platter comes with 3 pieces of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, snapper, scallop, shrimp, and eel. My faves were the albacore with a dollop of grated ginger and the snapper with a little fresh wasabi and a squeeze of lemon. I'm not a fan of salmon so I wish there was an option to swap rolls but the spicy tuna roll was also very good. Usually spicy tuna rolls are made when tuna goes bad so you mask it by mixing with mayo and sriracha. However, there was hardly that sauce cover up, which I really liked. Came here on an impromptu try. We figured it might be similar to the restaurant of the Same name sake. I would have to say it is a pretty run of the mill Japanese restaurant with a very simplified menu. Prices are pretty average and comparable to ones in the areas. The sushi combo weren't really combos it's just stacked combos. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was very reminiscent of a pizza place for some reason but overall was clean and sizable, very express overall all, the food was ok. The sushi was average, what caught me off guard was the "bluefin special" didn't taste buttery or supple like blue fin. Looked really similar to regular tuna with some added knife marks to differentiate it from their regular tuna. I think it's ok if you want to try but I don't thjnk it stands out from the rest especially from my "bluefin" premium experience. read more

Even though we arrived during peak dinner time on a Saturday and the chefs appeared to be working on several takeout orders at once, we probably waited only about 15 minutes total from when we placed our order until when we left with our takeout order. We were really impressed with how quickly they prepared our order and how securely they packaged it. They even included an extra salad for free and training chopsticks for our toddler.
