Awesome rolls! Such a great variety and they don't disappoint. Really like the food here. The Texas Roll was super amazing! I never had a roll with steak and WOW was that good! They also have great lunch specials. However some of the specialty rolls are not on the lunch special menu so you will have to pay a slight up charge. The staff was also super nice. Very accommodating and knowledgeable on all the food which is so helpful when trying to decide what to get. The mixed drinks were ok, after my martini I just stuck to wine. Came back after the renovations and it's just as good as before, if not better! The layout of the inside changed for the better, it feels super cozy. We had the Imperial, Smoke Stack, and Dynamite rolls - each one of them a 10/10. I like sweet, tropical drinks, so I went with the Blue Nini and loved it! Our waitress was super fun and sweet, the energy was very appreciated! I'm horrible with names but she had bright red hair, and made the night that much more enjoyable. Sushi NiNi is a solid sushi restaurant if you're looking for quality and reasonable prices in the midst of inflation. read more

Sushi NiNi has some of the best sushi we've had in Austin for the price and quality. We often go during lunch to take advantage of their lunch specials which are well priced. There are two different lunch specials where you can either choose 2 regular rolls or 1 specialty roll, love that they offer two options because I can always decide based on how hungry I am. Their combination tempura is delicious and perfectly flaky and crispy. We also ordered the white tuna sashimi and they gave us two FAT pieces that were super buttery in texture and had an interesting umami flavor. Like many have said, Sushi Nini used to be a staple due to their decent pricing and quality of sushi for the Round Rock area. So, when they reopened from their hiatus, we were so excited to try it again! However, the food just was not the same as before their closure... We ordered six different rolls and were disappointed to find that the "sushi rice" on all of the rolls was undercooked and didn't taste seasoned (with rice vinegar and sugar as sushi rice is normally treated). The quality of fish was similar to before their closure, but with the rice being so off, it was really hard to enjoy. Hopefully this was a slight hiccup with training new BOH staff and not a long term issue ! I'm open to trying it again to see if it improves in a few months. read more

Spicy tuna was great California roll was great Escalor roll was great The only issue I had was the chicken teriyaki udon that didn't taste anything like teriyaki and was made mostly of fatty chicken Other than that.. the order was placed through Grubhub and everything was correct including the timeframe given to deliver the order. Even for take out. The quality is the same. The miso it's still delicious, the gyoza still warm and yummy and the teriyaki wings are just a good touch when having a Chardonnay. The quality does not lower just because it's a take out. Instead it's just like eating at the place itself. I don't usually take out, but I was curious if it was still good. Now I know. Amazing place for quality food and generous portions! Hamachi Heaven was a great starter. Teriyaki bento box had all our favorites. Where to begin... For context, I work with a large group of guys and we order takeout frequently (3+ times every week). Each order is on average $300 (so $900 a week, no exaggeration). The food is good (4/5 stars). That's why we order here so frequently (we also work nearby). I would say in general the sushi rolls are high value. The sashimi (fish only) is okay, but for the price... it's fine. Wings were decent. Other apps were good. Overall, many items I'd order again. For the critical portion of this review. I'm so sick and tired of asking for utensils, napkins, and plates (2/5 for service). Furthermore, the sushi was packaged together making it hard to get guys their orders. We were creative with what we got, but it's not exactly convenient for dividing food. I don't think we're expecting much but when we're ordering so much food, it seems like this store could figure out a solution. Just got off the phone with a rep, and when asked about plates or a way to divide the orders, they just told us they don't have any plates. For a good customer, just seems like a lazy way to ignore issues that can be reasonably solved for. If you're looking for take out sushi, sure. This place is good enough. But with some additional management, my above statements could be fixed. Simply put, I expect more and will be asking guys to order less until simply solutions are in place. read more

The restaurant looks nice inside but I have yet to dine in. I've gotten their deluxe california, Philadelphia & the crunchy roll & they are all super good. Service at sushi nini is always on point! No matter who your server is. I have been here over 15 times and the service and quality of food is always fresh/consistent. I usually come here often enough when I need a sushi roll in a pinch. Until tonight they been consistent in quality. However tonight after I placed a pick up order and when all the way home, I found a hair on my sushi roll. I was utterly dissappointed. I drove all the way back and promptly request a refund which they granted. They were sorry about the hair being the food and offered to make me another roll. However I wasn't going to risk going through that again. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back. I would say just inspect your sushi thoroughly before you dine here and hopefully you don't have this experience I just had. I would say if they had comped me a sushi roll for my troubles I would have given them another try. Going above and beyond would have been appropos in my situation to keep a customer. I've referred so many people here too. They make good sushi rolls, but if I see hair I'm just not willing to risk it all, just because the food is good. read more

The calamari was mostly flour, very little squid, and extremely greasy. Skip it. The sushi was decent, especially for the price. we had three rolls shared between the two of us, and is just sufficient. Would like to try their handrolls in future. Went to our usual very favorite sushi restaurant for a birthday celebration. We found a hair that was clearly not ours in one of the rolls. Ok. I'll try to be cool. They re-made that roll but honestly my appetite was gone. They charged us for that roll too. I've been going here and a huge champion since before covid but yes, customer service failed here. I gag thinking about going here and pulling out a long black hair. They admitted and blamed it on the server. And still charged us for the roll. They need to take a look at customer service interactions. This was our favorite sushi place but I won't be back any time soon...or ever. It was one of our go to's for a decade and I'm very sad at the lack of service and cleanliness. OK - so to begin with, this review is not for the food. I think Sushi Nini has decent sushi (at least had it before they closed and reopened) - maybe not the best in the town but not the worst either. When the place got shut down because of a fire in the kitchen, we were quite sad. And that is why we wanted to go and try the place again when it opened up again. I had some out-of-town guests and we drove nearly 30 min to reach the place. The only mistake we did was to reach at 9:32 PM (the place stays open till 10 PM). The person at the entrance said curtly that we can't have dine-in guests after 9:30 PM and even after we requested, he did not relent. The most dehumanizing part of the whole conversation was that he stopped even looking at us as if we don't even exist. Well, we walked out of the place for that night and possibly forever. Thanks but no thanks, I would never go to a place that does not treat its customers as even humans. 0/5 stars. read more
