I had lackluster experiences the last couple of times that I visited. Something has definitely changed. My most recent experience was a sad one. I decided to drop in for lunch after shopping at Bealls. I immediately noticed that the booth seating across from the sushi bar had torn and tattered cushions. This is the beautiful bright green cushioned seating that I remember loving after the renovation. It was in desperate need of repair. What made it worse was that I was sat in one of these booths. I picked the side that was least torn. Yes, I could have asked to be seated elsewhere. I just didn't know if all the booth seating was the same way, so I went with it. The service was good. The passion fruit tea and the clear chicken broth soup were all good. It was the sushi rolls that left a lot to be desired. It wasn't the same quality that I remember. The rolls were small and falling apart. I'm sorry to say that nothing about this experience was happy. I just hope that the BYO poké bowls haven't changed. My wife had the Chicken Bulgogi. Now, she liked her order, I on the other hand was not impressed with mine. Now, I know I ordered the original chicken wings, but they only use adobo to season it, and its only on the skin, so after the first bite, the rest of the chicken really has no flavor. The chicken fried rice was not something I would go back for either. The place was very clean, plenty of parking since its located in a shopping strip. The other folks with us, had the sushi, and they seemed to have enjoyed it. Went here tonight for a birthday party. We started out with a sashimi appetizer and a vegetable tempura. Both were delicious and I would order them again. We then ordered two rolls which were fresh but a little small and were a little blan on taste. Overall the service was great from our server but at the end they brought us the bills with a automatic 18% gratuity added with the minimum option of adding an additional 20% if we wanted to. I consider myself a great tipper when the service warrants it which normally means I tip over 20%. But when a tip is forced upon me and no longer based on service rendered I simply stop at their lower amount. For this I removed a star . Have faith in your product and services rendered or I will choose to go elsewhere. read more

Our main sushi plate, consisted of the basics - rainbow roll and Cali. The Crazy Ninja Roll, a slight hint of that spicy kick, I loved it. Star was very friendly, but forgetful. Had to wait for 20 minutes for a boba tea that was incredibly sour and was not drinkable. No soy sauce and had to scavenge for some on my own. Food was very mid-range. The menu is very clearly non-threatening sushi: almost everything was fried, had "krab", or had asparagus. There were only a handful of non-fried, non-"krab" rolls out of around 40 to choose from. $11-$14 per roll. Great place to go for people who want to say that they've had sushi. read more

The decor inside is very nice and relaxing. The Ginger salad had a very creamy ginger dressing, not a huge fan but def not bad (just personal preference). Just different texture than I'm use to. The actual main entrees themselves took quite a while to come out but it was definitely worth the wait. I had lunch at sushi ninja the other day and was a great deal for lunch. It is located in an unassuming strip mall, once you enter it has a great Asian vibe. I had the white sangria and my friend got the red sangria, both were delicious. As appetizers we got the Crab Rangoon and TNT mussels. The Crab Rangoon was great, the TNT mussels weren't my favorite but if you like a baked creamy mussel the you may right up your alley. I had the Katsu chicken bento box for lunch. It was a great deal and plenty of food for $13. My friend had the south Tampa roll, which she raved about. Our server was Lizzie and she was wonderful, very attentive and answered all of our questions. I think the picture says it all! Make a stop and grab a roll or two or three. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday night/evening. The waitress was both bartender and server. She did a fantastic job. Although $19 for a margarita was very steep for what we got. Now she did say she was the bartender as well but in a way I will try my best can't say it will be perfect. Shakes arrive in a plastic takeaway cup; sunomono at ten bucks was tasteless. Meanwhile, get blown on directly at Arctic levels so you can freeze while enjoying - or not. Hands down my families favorite place after a long day at work! The Spicy Pork Bugolgi is my husband and I go to as well as the Mexican roll and crazy ninja roll! Our littles even love it! The lunch special was a great deal, my daughter and I got two okay rolls and clear soup. The clear soup was the BEST I have ever had at a restaurant. The okay roll was so delicious; it had fried crab and cream cheese together which was just perfect, on top was crispy tempura chips with spicy sauce and a yummy sweet sauce that also balanced each other out so well! I will definitely get this roll again especially on the lunch deal, can't beat it! We also ordered a specialty roll called Rising Sun which was great as well but I thought the flavor profile of the Okay roll was better. The Rising Sun Roll had Alaskan snow crab, cucumber and crispy smoked salmon skin inside and on top raw white fish, spicy mayo, eel sauce, yum yum sauce, scallions and red tobiko. The salmon skin was the best part about the roll, it was so good and different. It had a great crispy texture and smoky flavor that went together amazingly with the sushi dipped in soy. My daughter chose the little place off of Bloomingdale road. It is nice inside with unique decorations and they serve Sushi as well as other dishes . We had Krab Rangoon and Chicken Teriyaki. The meals come with salad and soup which was a good addition to the meal. The ginger dressing was very good and the chicken broth was flavorful, just needed to be warmer. So happy to have a Korean/sushi spot right in my neighborhood! I have been on the prowl for some "hwe dup bap" ever since moving from one of the biggest Korea towns on the east coast. It's not advertised as hwe dup bap but when I saw the "spicy sashimi bowl" description, I knew it was meant to be. Only complaint is wish they would use a little more greens variety with the dish, and wish it came with some banchan (side dishes) for paying the price of 19.99. Honestly they have decent pricing for the large portions that you get, especially when compared to other Japanese restaurants. I normally get the veggie fried rice with an order of their Korean Sweet & Sour Chicken, which is great but my complaint with the chicken is that it's always over cooked, kinda chewy which isn't great but you get so much of it it makes up for that lol. My kids love it, and they make a better sauce that isn't corn syrup and ketchup (might have some corn syrup but it's a house made sauce with fresh fruits and veggies as well). The sushi is amazing, great pricing on the rolls too! Hopefully they will stop overcooking the Korean Sweet & Sour Chicken because I think it could be a top seller if they cooked it right.
