We always saw the signs outside but had never tried before. So sad we had taken so long to try. This was some of the best sushi I have had in Tampa area. We had a ramen bowl and 4 different sushi rolls. The roll that had the crunchy salmon on top was unique and so good. My favorite that night. That crispy salmon on top added the right saltiness to the sushi rolls underneath. We were fighting for the right to have the last salmon pieces at the end. The other rolls were very good as well. We had one with scallop that was delicate and creamy and so good. The one I looked forward to with 3 types of tuna was #4 that night and still good. Presentation was great and you got a good amount for your money. Their 2 roll special is the way to go. Great deal. My son liked the ramen and cleaned his bowl. The only downside was it was pretty dark inside. I could not read the menu with the dim lights. But other than that Sushi was A++.

I found this place on Yelp when I was craving sushi. I was so surprised that they and Brandon open until 2 AM! I placed a carryout order online, which was super easy. Going inside made me regret placing a pick up order because the inside has such a beautiful vibe. They have so many Bogo deals and everything was amazingly priced. I got the mango roll and the shrimp tempura roll and both were really good. I also got the yellow tail which was delicious. The crab raccoon and dumplings were really good. I'm so glad I did the Bogo deal on the dumplings because they were great.

I was feeling hungry and couldn't sleep, so I ended up finding this spot since it was open until 3 a.m. I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and see how lively it still was around midnight. The music was playing, the atmosphere felt genuinely authentic--it's definitely a cute idea for a late-night date.

Yokohama/sake house! Seems like they run as Yokohama during the day and sake house for dinner/late night. Same as the Sake house in the Wesley Chapel area, same awesome prices. Depending on the rolls you choose, $12-20 for 2 rolls during dinner or $7-15 for 2 rolls during lunch (until 3). Super ideal for a midnight craving run.

The food is delicious, the service is good, but what stands out here is the ambiance. Really cozy and super dim lights, perfect for a casual date.

I have been looking forward to this place for a bit. I must say that I'm a bit underwhelmed by the experience. I was immediately greeted upon entry and taken to a booth. I was literally the only customer in the place. I asked for a very specific type of sushi, which they did have. I'm a bit disappointed. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen with the chashu pork. Japanese pride their food with exceptional presentation. As you see in the photo, it was quite bland. The ajitsuke egg was oddly shaped. Although cooked fairly well, it fell short of the way it should be prepared. The bowl lacked a couple of things like some veggies. If it had any shitake mushrooms I don't recall seeing them. There were 2 strips of bamboo. Lots of scallions and 2 pieces of imitation crab. The chashu pork was nicely charred and was probably the best part. The broth was a little on the sweet side with a little smokiness. With tip it was $16.00. The atmosphere was a bit boring. A mix of hard rock and Japanese ballads. Inside it's a bit dark with the lacquered furniture. I don't think I'd come back as there are a few better ramen shops around.

Sadly ate majority of the roll then when I went for the last bite I see this.... ):

It was yummy but hair was not included in the description. Yelp says I need at least 85 characters.

Located in a strip mall at the corner of Kings ave and Lumsden rd in Brandon, Yokohama is the best place I've found to get high quality sushi and Japanese food in the area. It is a small restaurant with booths and tables. There are tables pushed together to accommodate a large party of 8. It is clear that an effort was put into the decor and lighting. The server was attentive and friendly. Most importantly, the food was excellent. All of the food is reasonably priced. We ordered two sushi rolls which were outstanding. The stir fry chicken udon was so good, I didn't want to stop eating it after I felt full. Lastly the beers are 2 for 1 all the time, so you can get 2 beers for $6 which is a great price at any restaurant.

Absolutely love this place especially for the fact they are opened late!!! Fine sushi, staff is so nice and efficient, food is always fresh, fried cheesecake and fried ice cream is what I look forward to after my meal. BOGO apps as well. The inside is dim and quite also really clean.

Restaurant was terrible, manager was mean and food probably the worst I've had in the US. Undercooked chicken, rolls were still frozen.

The spicy Tonkatsu, fried oysters, gyosa, fried rice...heck almost anything on the menu as been amazing and the Sushi isn't stingy. You might pay a little more but you get a lot more. It was just my Mom and I and we were seated at a hibachi table with 2 other parties. Our chef was amazing! I have been to many Kobe locations and he was THE BEST. He was extremely personable, funny, and had great tricks. He seasoned the food really well and made sure everyone was full on sauces. He really made the meal spectacular. This was my mom's first visit to Kobe and she only had Benihana to compare it to. She was impressed by the portion sizes and the fact that you also got noodles with the meal inside of just rice. We both ordered the shrimp hibachi meals and they were great. We both had so many leftovers to take home and have another full meal the following day. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the extreme rushed feeling the servers provided. Each course was brought so fast and more off putting was the fact that after the chef barely finished cooking, they were bringing to go boxes to box up our food. It made it hard to enjoy the meal and company. I understand moving groups due to many reservations but this was too much.

We were a party of five and arrived on time for our reservation. The restaurant decided to seat us with a very large party that clearly should have had a private area or separate seating arrangement. As we were eating, more and more people from that group kept arriving. There weren't enough seats for them, yet they were allowed to stand directly behind both their party and ours the entire time. What made it worse was that no one from the restaurant addressed it -- not the chef, not the waitress, no one. One of the men standing behind us repeatedly leaned over and ate food directly off the plates of his party. It was chaotic, uncomfortable, and honestly gross. We ended up rushing through dinner just to leave. Our waitress was actually very sweet and did her best, but she was clearly being disrespected and overwhelmed by that large party as well. The food itself was just okay, and the way large amounts of food were being thrown onto plates felt sloppy and unappetizing. Before leaving, we asked to speak to a manager. He apologized, acknowledged that the situation should have been handled differently, and gave us a $50 credit. While we appreciated the apology, it was never really about the money. We simply wanted a nice evening celebrating my mom's milestone birthday, and instead we left stressed and disappointed. Sadly, we will not be returning.

The box came well-assembled: white rice topped with teriyaki chicken, garnished with rice seasoning, a side of noodles also seasoned with rice seasoning, a salad with dressing, and two pieces of fried gyoza. The gyoza were the highlight for me -- crispy and quite good. Overall, the ensemble made for a satisfying, no-fuss meal. Simple, decent, and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. The ambiance is where this place really adds some personality. One corner of the restaurant is dedicated to DIY painting activities, making it a great spot for creative types or families. On the other side, there are claw machines for those feeling lucky enough to win a stuffed toy. It gives the place a lively, playful energy that sets it apart from your average dining spot. Tastes like melted ice cream (not a bad or good thing). Plan on trying dessert another time.

Once in awhile the steak comes more chewy like a lesser quality was available that day. However, I strongly caution against ordering a party tray! We thought it would be the better value to feed a small crowd for a birthday gathering. And at first glance it was... the amount of food was good... if you really like vegetables. Our steak trays were about 95% vegetables and only a little bit of steak on top to make it appear better than it really was. It would have been majorly disappointing if this were for a different type of party other than close family or only the first few people through the "buffet line" would have grabbed up all the meat and everyone else would have thought we just provided veggie platters. To be fair, the veggies are good but definitely not an even proportion to be a good value or satisfy a crowd. We had such an over abundance of just vegetables we had to pack a gallon bag away in the freezer to make something else later.
