Disappointed in quality of fish. Spicy Scallop was mixed with tempura crunch made for a crunchy mushy bite that lacked any flavor. So much fresh fish in Florida and they clearly buy B grade fish. Eal was also mushy and not fresh. Definitely not a traditional Japanese Sushi restaurant. read more

The sushi rolls are very rich , I loved the mountain king roll huge 2 in one ! the hibachi just perfect! Portions are really satisfying, We loved everything we had . I dined in Monday night about 45 minutes before close. Service was fast, restaurant was spotless, and the staff were so friendly and kind. I ordered the HWY 17 roll and asked to not deep fry it and then the Pink Lady roll. Both were absolutely incredible. I don't usually order the special rolls because I find that there is just too much h going on; I'm more of a plain and simple roll kind of girl. Everything was great! I had the sashimi sampler and I loved the salmon, and tuna, and the last piece of fish which I don't remember. Too much saki but I loved it. The main meal was great. Noodles and rice was phenomenal. It was filling. I love this place now. They did everything right which is rare. The may not be a five star restaurant but this was an incredible value and tasty food. Leading Japanese restaurant in the area (review of a 3 year local) Ive been to this restaurant at least 20 times. Walking in to the dec'd out restaurant, you are immediately hosted and seated by only the best employees. It is impossible to not enjoy the service as it is fast, reliable and polite/respectful. Next, The searing is amazing! Plush booths, real hard wood luxury. Japenese decor throughout with a large tv at the bar for added ambiance and entertainment. THE FOOD: the food is art. Its very tasty, usually server as a 3 course meal and has a large generous portion. I have never had food taste bad or look unpresentable. The quality control and detail is IMMACULATE. The sushi dinners are presented on grand sculptures and props making an amazing experience. All condiments are available. The drinks are refreshing and tasty as well, truly a delite. Super budget-friendly for the value and quality of food. The service is fantastic. So my fiancé and I just left from dinner on a Friday night. She and I got two glasses of wine, a small hot sake, veggie tempura app, and 3 rolls (which we only finished half of because we were so full). I was shocked when we got the bill... YUCK! I ordered food for pick up and BOY did it disappoint! I ordered hibachi and several cold sushi rolls. To start, the hot hibachi was packed in the same bag with the cold sushi rolls, making the sushi hot. I felt really uneasy about eating hot raw fish so I trashed it all.. temperature issues with raw fish cause foodborne illnesses and I was not about to take that chance especially after seeing that place inside .. sketchy.. It was absolutely terrible. The food is mediocre at best... the inside is outdated and all the tables look sticky... they were playing horrible music. This used to be our go to for local sushi... the waitress even knew who we were. They were closed for a while (unsure why) so we gave them a try again this weekend. Odd smell when you walk in. They redecorated and changed the menu... They no longer give a complimentary holiday roll. The salad was gritty. I ordered a salmon & cheese and added avocado + a Mexican roll. I only visited this place on my way to see my family nearby and the man who placed my order was very pleasant and quite patient with me as I was reviewing their menu quickly while placing my order for take out. The environment was a little dark but quite nice inside. The order was ready within 20 minutes as he had explained earlier. I ended up with several rolls, a few salads and some yellowtail sashimi pieces. We started eating about 10 minutes after I received the order and I was mostly impressed with the various rolls but a couple of them were a bit bland. One of them was an Alaska roll and I've had it multiple times at other sushi restaurants. Overall, it was a good meal. It was a bit unfortunate for those 2 rolls but I'd be willing to try it out again as it's possible this was just a one off situation. read more

I went with the girls for lunch. I ordered one of the specials. It was the double salmon only I asked if I could have tuna instead. The double salmon was $14.99 but when they changed it to tuna and the bill came, they charged me three more dollars which I didn't think was very fair. E Sushi is the perfect family-owned restaurant in Apollo beach. Living in Waterset, there's limited options in the area. Chain restaurants aren't my favorite, so I love coming here to support. Each day there are various specials like ladies night or sake specials. We love the Asian pear and warm sake. Sushi favorites are the Phoenix roll and anything with veggies. The portions were huge and the sashimi was a THICK cut which you never see! The rolls were amazing!! The attention to detail by the sushi chef was impeccable!
