THIS PLACE WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD. The fish tasted fresh and i really like the fact that it's in a grocery store. we walked around after we ate to walk off all the sushi! 10/10 i 100% recommend.

This amazing sushi spot can be located on the second floor of the 88 marketplace. We were seated right away and both looked over their menu. We picked a small selection of nigiri and both raved over the freshness and absolute quality of the fish. Even days after this meal we were thinking about it. Looking forward to the next time we can eat here!

Updating my review for next time my best friend and I get sushi from our fave Chicago hidden gem sushi shop. It's located in 88 Market which makes it feel like an under the radar treasure. You'll go up the escalators to the market and take a slight right towards what looks like some food stalls. You are able to dine it or takeout. This visit we ordered on DoorDash ahead of time for pickup. It was the weekend before Lunar New Year so it was packed. If you do want to dine-in, there are tables in what sorta feels like food court style in front of where you order your food. There is a divider between the food and grocery sections. We like to do takeout. Our big takeaway is do not get anything with squid. It's just not for us. We wouldn't get the kraken special again. This time we tried the kraken special, dragon special roll, torched salmon maki special, hotate nigiri, and negi toro hoso. We got the dragon roll and hotate nigiri last time so we always recommend this for super yummy rolls. We fell in love with the negi toro hoso and its fun little onion kick, so will definitely order that again. We wanted more from the torched salmon maki, something about the sauce drowned out the flavor and made it more bland. The sushi is fresh and delicious here, you don't want to miss out!

A genuinely great experience fora restaurant located in a market. The food was fresh and delicious.the service is fast and friendly. The ambiance is nice and inviting but can see how fast things can fill up. The one down side is seating can be a bit cramped during busy times. A great spot with BYOB qualities

The fish is SO FRESH. It's a small place within 88 marketplace. This Wagyu rice bowl was pricey but so good. It was melt in your mouth. Good fast service.

Efficient service, great prices with good portions. Rice is cooked well and has nice subtle flavor.

A 3% service charge is automatically applied to the bill, without prior dusclosure on the menu, in addition to a suggested minimum gratuity of 18%. This effectively results in a 21% gratuity, even with the minimum suggestion. When questioned about the service charge, the server responded: it is just something we do

I really like the sushi here. It's so fresh and the service is amazing. There is a lot of place to sit either by the chefs itself or seating just outside which is inside the 88 Marketplacd. It's BYOB which is great to enjoy with friends. The variety of sushi to choose from is great. They have Otoro, tuna, salmon, eek and different rolls. We got the Otoro flight which was so flavorful and it just melts in your mouth.

This salmon don pops OFF!! The salmon is so so fresh, the pickled radish and scallions add a nice crunchy and sour texture to compliment the mild fish. We got this catered, and while the rice was admittedly a bit heavy handed on the rice vinegar, I devoured this bowl in seconds. This place slays, and I definitely wanna come again to try it dining in house!! Can't speak to the service or the ambiance because this was catered!

This is my go to sushi place for à la carte experience. This is the best place for tuna and otoro, it's extremely fresh. The pricing is on the more expensive side but it is worth it. The waiter was extremely polite and professional. They even read back my order to me. This place is inside a grocery store and there is free parking!

    Tuna flight is a must.

I got the tuna flight and just from the look of it I could tell something was a little off. It didn't taste as fresh as I remembered them to be.

    Salmon Paradise

I came here with my husband and cousin for dinner on a Sunday night. We ordered the salmon paradise along with a tiger roll. There weren't a ton of people at the restaurant so service was pretty quick. The ambience is pretty nice because you can choose to sit near the store front to people watch while they're grocery shopping or you can sit inside which feels a bit more intimate. I chose to sit inside just so it's a bit more quiet and we can actually hold conversations. I thought the food was pretty decent and I don't mind coming here to pick up sushi if I'm in the area. The rice to fish ratio is reasonable as well as the price for the amount of food you get. I thought this party tray platter along with a roll was just enough for three people.

    The bar area
    Janet L.

This restaurant is in the food court area of a large Asian grocery market. Go upstairs to the grocery store and you'll see a row of restaurants to dine at. I went on a weekday afternoon and got quick and attentive service. The menu is not large but it just told me they do a few thing a really well. The portions were healthy and the food was good! It was a bit busy because I think there's a door for the staff behind the bar seating but I never once got bumped and had no issues with the foot traffic.

I got the salmon bowl, the salmon avocado maki, and tuna crispy rice. The salmon bowl was definitely my favorite. The salmon was cooked very nicely so that it wasn't dry, and I loved the miso glaze that they put on top. It added a very nice sweetness to the salmon and created a very nice char. It was pretty small portion size though. The salmon avocado maki was solid too. It was the most filling! You get 5 pieces :) The tuna crispy rice was just alright. The rice part was good, but there was a bit too much mayo in the tuna. The miso soup that came complimentary with it was good too! I like how generous they were with the seaweed. Such a nice vibe inside! It's definitely a nicer spot, but still casual enough for lunch. I wanna come back for dinner! Service was quick and server was kind.

It clearly is for all their locations. Unfortunately, here at Chinatown's location, when they attempted to scan the card, the staff said it does not work and only works at the Printer's Row location. I ended up calling the Printer's Row location and had the team talk to the manager at the Chinatown location, and the manager at the Chinatown location kept their stance that it does not work, stating Printer's Row location does not know why the gift card does not work at the Chinatown location, and will not make any exceptions to accepting the gift card. Thankfully at the Printer's Row location, they are stating it's due to their system being new as they are a new location, and reason why the gift card is not working at all the locations yet which they are now working on to fix so it does not happen to any other customer moving forward. I just wish the Chinatown location showed some compassion to address the issue and still accommodate the inconvenience instead of us having to go back to the Printer's Row location to use the gift card Price: Approximately $20, not including tip for 2 people. There are lunch specials! Ambience: Indoor Seating Overall: Worst experience, especially to follow up my birthday celebration

The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.
