My friends and I ordered takeout from Hinode a few weeks ago and we were extremely satisfied. The staff member who took our order made sure to read our order back to us over the phone (we placed a large order, so this was very appreciated.) The menu is very extensive and the sushi rolls were very large. The crab Rangoon and the supaishi hamachi roll were my favorites from the evening. I took a bite of the lovers roll, which is the one pictured topped with avocado, and that was very fresh and delicious as well. First time here. It's a very small place but they make do with the limited space. Our party was 7 and they sat us comfortably. Our waiter was very attentive and kept up with all our appetizer, drink and entree orders. The food was delicious and fresh. We ordered sooo many items and all were delicious. I think the standout was the tuna appetizer (I think that's what it was called) it was sooo fresh and flavorful and the sauce it was in was good enough to drink! lol. I recommend this place for sure. I still love this place. I went here for dinner tonight. It was my son's first time trying sushi and he liked everything he tried. We shared the vegetarian egg rolls. I had the mango avocado sushi roll and the sweet potato tempura roll. The sweet potato tempura roll was crunchy and savory. I got the lemon sake jar. It tasted like lemonade. Hinode sushi was a pleasant surprise in Oviedo. My friend and I didn't like driving too far for sushi, so she recommended Hinode. Wow, it was one of the best sushi I have had in Central Florida. We went on a Tuesday evening, and it was packed. The restaurant is small, so we sat in the bar area instead. Regardless of being extremely busy, our server was attentive and helpful. YUM! So nostalgic as my husband and I's first ever date was out for sushi, but this place was 10000000x better. It's pretty small inside but they have about 10-12 tables maybe?? And the place was full on a Thursday night. We ordered the crab Rangoon and 4 different sushi rolls and everything was so good! The Rangoon came out piping hot and the sushi was so fresh and delicious. The Titan Roll was a favorite for both of us! We will be back! I really wanted to love Hinode because the food was honestly excellent. The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every roll we tried was well-made and tasted great. Unfortunately, the service timing completely overshadowed the quality of the food. It took an extremely long time to receive our order -- far longer than expected -- and there didn't seem to be much communication about the delay. It's a smaller place with maybe 15-20 tables (inside and out) Typically like to order 5-6 of the basic rolls and 1 specialty roll and everything's delicious. Takeout on the weekends is typically quoted about an hour but usually ready in 40-45 min. Give them a try and tip the chefs! read more

They have the best meal deal for the bento boxes, you choose your entree, it comes with a soup and side, you choose what rice you want, you choose a sushi roll, and you choose whether you want shumai, gyoza, or edamame. It's a really comprehensive meal and it always comes out fresh and perfect. A few times I've gone to sit down and there were some supply issues and certain things were unavailable. This has happened enough times that it's been noticeable but I really recommend going for the bento meal over sitting down for some sushi rolls specifically. The service is always really kind. I definitely thought the spicy krab roll was my favorite as it paired well with the spicy mayo. It had a great flavor to it. I thought the sweet potato roll had a nice crunch but it wasn't my favorite. Overall the ambiance and service was pretty nice. I ordered my food to go. And I liked that it's close by my house. I love this place it never disappoints until it did. I had been looking for a regular sushi spot since moving here. I am sushi crazed my last spot even had a role named after me that I'd invented. Well when we found this place thanks to my awesome tattoo guy we went ham and tried almost everything on the menu. Since then we have been back many times. The owner is awesome and treats his regulars like they ought to be treated. My 5 year old loves the OMG roll, my 2yo will eat the Udon noodles with extra steak, and I myself am a fan of the scallop shots with Sake. How did I just recently discover this hidden gem of a sushi place in Oviedo?!? I stopped in here for lunch with my cousin as we were craving sushi and I was feeling adventurous... my typical go-to in the area isn't open for lunch and boy am I glad I jumped on the chance to try this after some recommendations from FB groups! It was really busy for lunch, and despite the business we were seated right away and the service remained prompt. We started with the edamame that was pretty standard for edamame, nothing to rave home about but still enjoyable! For the main courses, I opted for the George's roll and my cousin ordered the super crunch. For her daughter she ordered fried rice with shrimp. I REALLY enjoyed the George's and tried hers and liked it as well! Overall, I appreciate the expansive menu and can't wait to try some of the other options including their noodles and boxes. I chose the salmon bento box and you get to choose your own meal design basically - so the possibilities are nearly endless! Love this place but buyer beware. Dinner service can be a mess. We ordered our meal and my entire family got their meal. I didn't. The server told me that the kitchen was backed up but literally all the tables around us got hot food. Even though they ordered well after we did. We had a kid with us so we had to leave, and I asked for them to box my meal. We ended up waiting another 15 minutes and the food never came. The server DID bring us the bill that still had the meal on it and yet I did not ever get the meal. So I literally left dinner without dinner. We've been on a hunt to find the most amazing sushi in the Orlando area. REALLY wanted to give this spot 5 stars, but just can't do it. Two major factors... 1) Waiting almost an HOUR for our 3 sushi rolls, while only 2 other tables had 2 people at them. 2) EXTREMELY SMALL SUSHI ROLLS that are very pricey for what little you get. And I do mean little. I will say the sushi was fresh and absolutely delicious. Great selection of rolls on the menu. I spotted at least 5 that I wanted to order!! Major problem is that when we left, we were starving. There were only two of us, and we decided to order three rolls. Normally, we each order one roll and are completely stuffed at other establishments. In fact, we've never ordered three rolls before, but were very curious about the three that we did order. Couldn't make a decision on just two. Very disappointed in the wait time as well. We were there at 1:15 and it took almost an hour to get our rolls. We didn't have an appetizer because we knew we had three rolls coming. Big mistake there...lol Probably will not return. Just way too pricey to walk away hungry. Plus, an hour wait for 3 rolls is UNACCEPTABLE. If this restaurant would have been busy, we would have definitely understood. Not the case. There were 4 other people besides the 2 of us. read more

This sushi restaurant is extremely simple and unassuming, tucked into a rather large shopping center, yet definitely makes it in my top three favorite sushi restaurants of all. The inside is very small with only a handful of tables, so go early because by 6pm the place was packed. The sushi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We ordered four rolls (Black Widow, Pops, Touch of Heaven, and a special roll of the day) and it was the perfect amount of food. Decent sized rolls stuffed full with nice big pieces of fish on top. Touch of Heaven was my favorite. It had salmon and snow crab salad, topped with yellowtail, tuna, smoked salmon, mango and strawberry. The mango and strawberry were definitely unique but gave the roll a nice freshness and hint of sweetness. The artful way all of the sushi rolls are prepared really shows that this place goes above and beyond to please your eyes and your tastebuds. And the sauces that the rolls came with were unique and delicious. We also tried some edamame as an appetizer, and I found it to be a bit bland and average, so would just skip it next time and go straight for the main event. I've heard really great things from my friends about this place so I decided to order takeout and I'm happy I did!! The restaurant is pretty small and to my knowledge during covid you have to make a reservation. All the staff were very kind and were all wearing masks. Packaging was great and they gave me a variety of sauces which I was very thankful for. The dinner box is such a great deal, you get so much food and everything was so fresh and delicious!
