We placed our name on the waitlist, less than 10 minutes later we were seated at a table, our server was there very shortly after. All our interactions with the staff were friendly and efficient. Watching their strategy for turning over tables was spot on. Tag teaming each of the steps for a more fluid transition. The inside of the restaurant was clean, nicely lit, and very welcoming. Went into this sushi place 35 minutes before closing to place a simple to-go order and was told they "think" the kitchen was closed, but they "didn't want to check." Absolutely terrible customer service. If you don't want to serve customers before your posted closing time, then change your hours. What made it worse was we left and went down the road to Bayridge sushi, even closer to closing than we originally were at this place, and they gladly took our order, walked us through the menu, and never once rushed us. They tried to order a dirty martini, we jokingly warned him that an AYCE sushi restaurant probably won't have the perfectly mixed extra dirty martini that he's used to getting at steakhouses. That being said, the first drink that arrived at the table was a bust, second was better, eventually one of the owners came over and chatted with us and wanted to learn how to make a proper extra dirty martini. She was very, very nice given the situation. The food here is just consistently delicious. I'm not typically a huge fan of AYCE sushi, but this place surprised me. For me, the best part of AYCE is the variety and this place delivers on that with a lot of different choices. I really enjoyed a couple of the speciality rolls (Captain America and Rainbow Ocean highly recommend) and the sushi appetizers like the Yuzu Hamachi and Yuzu Salmon were both legitimately good. Some of the fried items like the tempura were just a ball of grease, but overall the food quality is decent to even good. We went around 5pm on a Sunday and the restaurant was decently busy but still had great service by our waiter. We were well full and had ordered half the menu before we were ever close to the time limit, so that was not an issue for us. Restaurant was very clean and at the time of this review has an A+ 100 on Life Kitchen. I liked the look of the place and it was clearly not built as a sushi-themed restaurant, but they did a good job not making it too hokey but also not too generic. Parking was also easy and plentiful sharing the parking lot of a large shopping center. Overall, if you're looking for the best Sushi in North Orlando its not here, but for a solid AYCE option I would recommend giving it a try. read more

Came here to try their $22 AYCE lunch service and I wasn't too impressed. Looking at the dinner menu you can see that a few of the roll options aren't available for lunch. That was disappointing since the rolls I was most interested in trying weren't offered. However we were still excited to try what they did have to offer. Starting with the cons: - sushi rolls didn't seem fresh - no crab in "krab Rangoons" just cream cheese - the "fried chicken" was bland tough chicken nuggets - the bao buns didn't come with any of the toppings advertised such as the cucumbers. Only came with a leaf of lettuce which didn't compliment it well - the fried rice was also awful. No flavor and none of the traditional ingredients that come along with fried rice The sushi rolls we did like were just okay. But my favorite menu item was the crispy tuna. We have been long overdue for a all-you-can-eat sushi place in Altamonte! Me and my friend were so excited to try this place so we went for lunch on Saturday. The inside of the restaurant is so cute! The decor was cute. Where we were seated, it looked like you were on a street in Japan with lanterns hanging by the rooftops. The staff was really nice also. You place your order with the server and everything comes out as it is ready. The sashimi, sushi, hibachi, and teriyaki items we ordered were phenomenal. Can't be seated without your whole party there, which is understandable, if not somewhat frustrating (sometimes part of a party prefers to get settled and order for the table so it's ready). Miso soup was good albeit a bit on the lukewarm side versus clear soup which was always piping hot when ordered (3-5 times! - yummy!) Krab Rangoon too sweet for me. Almost tasted like they used old cheesecake pieces for the filling (which I said as a joke but now am wondering) Salmon skin salad was yummy! Crispy and in strips with a little spice. I'm not usually a fan of AYCE, due to the typical low quality food however I've been seeing it all over TikTok and I have to tell you... if you love sushi the way my family does then RUN! It was phenomenal! Newly renovated (used to be Duffy's) the atmosphere is bright and has a really nice aesthetic. And it's very very clean!! We came for a late lunch on Saturday so we already expected to pay the dinner price which is comparable to all the other dinner AYCE sushi places. When we walked into the restaurant, I noticed the decorated lamps which stood out and created a nice atmosphere. What was different from the other places we've been to were the variety of appetizers to choose from. I liked that they offer a little bit of everything. I forgot to try the skewers and bao bun, but the items I did order were the crispy rice tuna, Yuzu Salmon and White Tuna Truffle . They were really good and had a nice flavor. The nigiri was very fresh, but the slice of the fish was thinner there. The only thing that was a disappointment was the hibachi scallops. They were rubbery and hard to chew. Of the rolls we tried, I enjoyed the spiderman roll the most. We had one that had coconut on top and that was interesting in a good way. The desserts were not appealing at all and I was surprised they didn't offer a fried cheesecake. The service we had was good. They had a system where anyone was able to help you which we appreciated. She informed me it was an all-you-can-eat restaurant but warned me that if I left any food behind, they would charge a food waste fee. Because I had never tried their food before, I asked for clarification. I explained that since I didn't know if I would even like the rolls, it felt unfair to be charged a fee if I ordered something I genuinely disliked and couldn't finish. When I asked how much the fee actually was, she vaguely told me, "It depends." I politely let her know that I would need to know the specific fee amount in order to feel comfortable ordering. Instead of being helpful or trying to accommodate a first-time guest, she flatly told me, "Well, you can always go somewhere else." So, I took her advice and walked out. While they were all solid, the chicken and squid skewers were definite standouts with great flavor and perfect texture. Some of the specialty items really shined too! On the sushi and specialty side, we tried Rock shrimp, tri-color carpaccio, yuzu hamachi, and several rolls including the Dragon Roll, Tropical Salmon Roll, and Captain America Roll. Each roll was well balanced and not overloaded with rice, which is key for AYCE. To finish, we tried a few desserts including mango pudding, coconut pudding, and macarons, which was a fun and satisfying way to end such a big meal. The coconut pudding was to die for, and we definitely ate our fill! Overall, Sushi Rock is a fantastic new addition to the area! It is $35 per person, and everything is made to order, which really shows in the quality and freshness of the food. The menu has a lot of variety, including some elevated options with ingredients like truffle, and the fish quality is excellent. Every dish we ordered was fresh and well prepared. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
