Great food ok service. Seemed to not care about service. Seemed overwhelmed. Will try again

First time dining Inn loved it loved it loved it. I ordered the sushi combo and for my sushi roll. I let it be the chef's choice. Oh my God amazing fish was delicate and fresh. The white sauce that they put on the sushi roll. I'm still looking for the recipe and I ordered a drink mixed drink to be exact and it was amazing. Amazing. Amazing I had to stop halfway through otherwise I was gonna be dancing on the bar. They have an outside patio area with plenty of seating and space inside plenty of seat and I sat at the bar watching the guys make the sushi rolls great ambience love the music tastefully decorated. It's a vibe date night or solo date night

Amazing and fresh sushi in the Greensboro area! I have been here a few times before and I usually get their lunch bento boxes, but this time was for a quick, weeknight dinner with my husband. The restaurant was probably half full around 6pm so we were seated immediately. I ordered a house salad (ginger dressing) and gyoza for an appetizer. For my main dish, I ordered the sex in the city roll. The salad came out within 5 minutes of ordering with the gyoza closely following. The sex in the city roll was delicious, but I love anything with avocado. Service was quick. We were in and out in under an hour. The ambiance is very casual. Sushi Republic is right next to UNCG so expect to see a lot of college kids. The only downside was parking. There is a small free lot next to sushi republic (for those dining there), but every spot was taken so we had to use the paid lot. If you're searching for free parking, just make sure you read the signs because some places will tow if you're not there for that restaurant.

We've been here several times and always enjoyed all our food. The servers are attentive and efficient. This weekend we started off with our favorite tempura green beans. I had the shrimp tempura udon soup. It was very rich and delicious. I really enjoyed dipping the shrimp into the soup. My husband had a chicken teriyaki bento box. Everything was delicious. The music playing was a wide variety which we found interesting while waiting for our food.

One of my husband and I's favorite date-night spot. Its dark and moody at night in the best way. And more importantly the sushi is quality. Most of the time, the staff is super friendly and attentive. Occasionally, you may get someone waiting on your who seems like they have had a long day. If you are really lucky, they may bring you complimentary fried Oreos at the end of the night. What a nice treat!

Consistently really good with amazing service and doesn't blow the budget. 10 menu items, before tip, for approximately $100 when ordering sushi is pretty reasonable, IMO! We went for an early dinner with our toddler who LOVES the soba & udon chicken. Not only was our waiter phenomenal and gave great suggestions for rolls - but someone from the kitchen walked over and to our table to make our toddler's chopsticks toddler-user-friendly! Nice touch! Our dinner was delicious - per usual. Yum!

I didn't quite like sushi much but I did enjoyed eating here! To truly be a critic/reviewer--I believe that you have to try something new. I had the Dragon Roll, I believe? And it was amazing! I believe I'm a fan of sushi now.

This is my family's favorite spot for sushi. They have lots of different rolls to fit just about anyone's taste: raw and cooked fish, deep fried rolls, etc. The service is always good, and we never have to wait a long time for food to come out. We have always sat outside on the patio, even when it's cold outside because there are heaters, and it's covered. Favorite appetizers are the Izumidai tacos(Red snapper, avocado and kimchi) and Age Dashi Tofu. And we don't even care much for tofu! they have good lunch specials, (last I checked) even with sushi. The menu goes well beyond sushi, they have soup and fried rice and noodle dishes. I've also had udon noodles and beef, which was very good. They also have cocktails, sake and Sapporo beer. Definitely recommend!

This was our second time visiting them, so that means we loved our food here in the past. But this time I must say it was somewhat underwhelming. We got here on a Friday night and it was seemingly quiet, not a lot of people were dining here. We got seated outside and waited for the rest of our party. Once they arrived we got our waters and ordered food. We got the TNT sushi roll, soba chicken noodles and the veggie fried rice. I had asked for spicy hot food. In terms of taste, the noodles were the best handsdown! They had a nice flavor too them and were spicy as well. Apart from that, we did not like anything we got. The fried rice had too much soy sauce in it, and was almost bland. Even after adding a whole cup of sriracha it did not get any better. The sushi was also sub par, maybe we should have gotten the fancy sushi rolls, but I would imagine they should do all their dishes well. The kitchen did mess up our orders as well. They brought out our sushi on the plate of someone else in our party, so we were left moving around food and passing it along which was an unnecessary hassle. At the end, they also got the check wrong. They added someone else's food to my bill so we eneded up having to split a venmo payment later on, which again was unnecessary. Not sure if they just had a bad day, or what but now I am not keen on a return visit. I do like their location and outdoor seating, and the free parking up the back is always nice so close to downtown. Maybe I will try them again, maybe not. We shall find!

This spot is unique with sushi taste like heaven. The customer service is always great. They have lunch and they also have dinner. It's a great spot to take a date.

Sushi Republic is my favorite sushi spot in Greensboro. The sushi is always fresh, service is great, and the prices are affordable. The menu has something for everyone! There are also many drink options from beer to sake to cocktails. Parking can be a bit tight and sometimes frustrating as the entrance is pretty narrow and also serves as the exit, so if a car is coming down the little hill you're unable to pull in and vice versa. When UNCG classes are not in session, it's less aggravating and busy. The max I've waited before on a Friday or Saturday night is 25 minutes, and it's worth waiting for! Jack is an amazing waiter! He is so kind and funny. I believe I've only had him when dining at SR, but I'm sure the other staff members are just as great! My friend and I ordered a conglomeration of sushi rolls, ranging in price from $8-$14. Hawaii Scallop Black tiger Greensboro Crazy All delicious, fresh, and hit the spot! Highly recommend Sushi Republic if you're in the area!

This was a place that beat expectations for me. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. The following was had between two; fried gyoza, fried calamari, spicy seafood ramen, and beef fried rice. Also not to forget some sushi and a Sapporo. The fried calamari with the sauce and lemon was top tier! The spicy seafood ramen was good, and the beef fried rice too. This is one of the "definitely will come back" spots to try more from the menu.

No. Seriously. 5 adults and 2 high chairs. I was hoping to slip in with a group and have fun. This seating is depressing. Oh let me not forget I waited 10 minutes at least to be seated. That wasn't so bad as I figured u had to wait on an odd numbered party to show up. I shoulda just waited into 4pm when the spot I really wanted to visit opened up. Our drinks & app service was decent. Never got our severs names but my Coke Zero was refilled without asking. Listening to the family at the table beside us chat and eat has been enjoyable while we sit here looking crazy. I've been here many times throughout the years. This has been the shortest wait to be seated. The longest wait to eat. And the most fumbled I've seen. Like who turns the table off? Loads of people in here. Plenty of people in the lobby waiting. But almost an hour between my arrival and the chef isn't even cooking? Nah. I'm good on Kabuto. Update! My medium ribeye was over cooked. I had medium. The people beside me ordered medium well. We are not together. This is why I don't order the filet because more often than not the steak gets overcooked. I typically order medium because I know the carry over will make it medium well. If you have a large group 6-10 then yes. Give this a whirl at least once. Solo dining night? Meh. Totally kid friendly too. I wanted to give this 4 stars but overcooked steak and the extra long wait took the fun out of it for me.

The rice will be fried, the meats will be cooked, and in the end, I will smother everything in enough of a mayonnaise-based white sauce that the finer variations from one hibachi place to the next don't really matter. What I do care about is the service and the entertainment. If someone is cooking in front of me, I expect them to be on their a-game. And, on my recent visit for dinner, our chef absolutely was. Though it was around 4:30 pm, so pretty early for dinner (and with smaller, quieter crowds), our chef pulled out all the tricks and was funny and engaging. Sometimes you get the sense that a chef hates his job and is just going through the motions, making you feel guilty for wanting to see an onion volcano -- that was not the case here. He was a total pro. Our waiter was also great, and struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving me space to enjoy my food and conversation. My drink stayed full and I never had to wait for something I needed, but I also didn't have to pause my conversation to speak to the waiter every 30 seconds, between mouthfuls of food. Like the chef, he was a total pro. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because my dessert bananas at the end were cold and not even caramelized, which was super disappointing. I think the chef was in a rush to get out of there, because our table took longer than the average for him to cook the food... a couple people we were seated with kept throwing food back on the grill (ew) and asking him to cook it longer. And I mean every single food they got, not just a steak. So, his timing might have been off in terms of getting to his next table, and ultimately it came at the price of cooking the final item correctly or really at all.

We went near closing time so got a whole table to ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive and quickly brought our drinks and appetizers. I selected the ginger dressing for my salad. One of my favorite things about these places are all the sauces. I happily replied yes to all of the options. I like to mix the hot sauce in the white. Cuts the sweetness a little bit. I also don't know what they do special to make hot mustard but it's better than any I have bought in a grocery store. And I have tried!
