Got a few rolls not pictured, the rolls were good. Not the best I've had or superior to other spots but they were solid. Didnt love the crispy rice. However the cashew salad is 10/10! The vibe inside is dim and really nice, but it's LOUD AS HELL, like loud enough to make it hard to hold a conversation with the people at the table. Service was great & attentive for the most part. Not sure I'll come back here - good overall but nothing about it is repeatable for me
Had to try out their ice cream window because I LOVE a dipped ice cream cone, it's so nostalgic. Their elevated take on dipped cones made me so excited, having dips like matcha and ube and soft serve flavors like Hokkaido vanilla and Okinawa chocolate. I got the vanilla with ube dip and wow was it SOOO YUMMY. The soft serve was not super sweet and it balanced well with the sweet dip. I also got to try the chocolate with matcha dip and loved that as well. The chocolate ice cream shocked me because it had such a rich deep chocolate flavor, unlike other chocolate soft serves I've had.
This place is elevated sushi and dining! The restaurant is beautiful and service feels professional, friendly, informative and not at all stuffy. My server David was fantastic! I was dining solo on a work trip. I felt totally comfortable here between the restaurant set up and friendly service. I ordered 3 items, the first was the salmon avocado roll with asparagus and meyer lemon in it, which was different. For me those didn't necessarily add, but the salmon was so fresh and delicious. Then, I had the crispy bbq eel roll. Lastly, I had the hand roll special of the day, which was blue crab. The server explained why they do the hand rolls more like a rectangle vs a cone for ease of eating and experience. Overall, it was an excellent roll. The seaweed wrapper had perfect flavor and crisp and normally that serves just function for me, but here it was more than that! This is definitely not inexpensive, but it feels like the higher prices are matched with quality. It's in the heart of a nice upscale shopping area. They have a 50% parking discount for underground lot, which is good because that is $$$. Since I was traveling for work, I really could've chosen anything and loved this! It felt like a treat after a long flight.
Overall: Came here for a friend's birthday dinner and had such a great time! Thank you Sushi-San and shout out to Kevin for getting us seated together! I got the nigiri set and the DUCK fried rice (I love duck), and they did it so well! Also, their little soft-serve window is so cute! I got the Okinawa boba "San-dae" and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was! I don't get to encounter too many Asian flavors in Nash, I appreciate that they have ube and matcha dips for the soft-serve cones too! Service: Really kind staff and quick to get everything out! Ambience: So cute and pretty inside, a uniquely Japanese inspired decor and more of a classy vibe inside.
Just a review for the soft serve window - we went on a Saturday afternoon, there was no line when we walked up, however there was a bit of a crowd waiting. We asked how long it would take (in a bit of a rush) and the woman working the window said it would be quick because there were only 2 orders ahead of us. However, we waited about 25 minutes for our single vanilla matcha soft serve. The ice cream itself was delicious, creamy, flavorful. We did not really enjoy the matcha dip - it tasted like white chocolate to us - but would definitely go back to try a different flavor.
We got the sushi tacos, nigiri, and crispy rice sushi. They were all very good and the fish was fresh and delicious. The entree we got, duck crispy rice, was good but a little too sweet for us. It overpowered the dish and we wish the duck had had some crispy bits. The bottom of the rice was a little on the burnt side as well. They also have an ice cream takeout window which was cute. Got the strawberry matcha soft serve and it was also way too sweet. Thought the strawberries would be fresh and macha would offset the ice cream but no. But overall it was a nice place. We were seated outside on the patio which was covered so you don't get too hot in the sun. The service was friendly and food came out pretty fast.
Wow... I will come back and back and back and recommend too! Food is so delicious and sooo fresh. That tuna, melted in my mouth. That salmon melted in my mouth... the cauliflower was delicious and the hand rolls were satisfying. I would suggest a bit less sauce so the fish doesn't get lost on the roll and the cauliflower but other than that the taste was great. The service was great and the atmosphere of the outside was perfect with a little bit of sun and shade. They offer 50% off parking so make sure you get the QR to redeem it. Definitely worth the trip, come check them out!!!
This is just a review for their soft serve window. We came here on a Wednesday night and it was bumping at 7:30 with a short line waiting for ice cream. They offer vanilla, chocolate, and dole whip and can swirl the vanilla/chocolate. Then you have the option to dip it in chocolate, strawberry, or matcha. We tried a swirl dipped in chocolate and a chocolate dipped in matcha. Both were fantastic but I think I'd get the matcha next time as it had a salty kick to it. A fun and cheap date night for those with kids or who want a sweet treat after eating nearby.
I came here based on the recommendation of a colleague. I stopped in about 4pm on a Sunday afternoon thinking I would beat the crowds. Boy, was I wrong. This neighborhood has a ton of shops so it was busy. I came in and sat at the bar since it was just me. The bartenders will not make eye contact with you until they are ready to speak to you and that can take anywhere from 5 - 10 minutes. From what I could tell, the cocktail I ordered was not on the menu. I think it was called the "Thank you for coming." I was intrigued because the person beside me had one. It is a spicy margarita that comes in a classic Chinese food to-go container. It was really cool and the drink was pretty good. For food, I got the chili crunch cucumber and the spicy tuna roll. The chili crunch cucumber is listed under salads but it is just a cucumber in chili oil. The tuna roll was very good. Overall, I felt the price was steep in terms of quality of food, quantity of food, and quality of service.
Stopped by the ice cream window for a soft serve. I went with the pineapple dole whip covered in chocolate in a cone. I was a bit disappointed how long it took to place my order as there was no line but the employee working at the window took about 5 minutes to register I was there despite popping my head into smile a few times. I took my cone to go as it was a sunny warm day and I thought the perfect day to walk around 12 south with some ice cream...There was plenty of outdoor seating but it was already almost full at 12pm on a Friday. First lick the chocolate was nice and dark- it wasn't the crunchy shell I was expecting but soft- big warning to ask for your cone in a cup or just get the cup if it's a warm day..my cone began to melt about 3 steps into my walk and ended up melting all over the sidewalk and my hands/arms..but it was delicious!! As Nashville warms up just get the cup haha! excited to stop by soon to try the food
Such a yummy menu and cool Japanese ambiance. We started off sharing a bunch of appetizers. The edamame had a sweet spicy powder which I never experienced before. The Gyoza were standard. The main event was the Crunchy chili cucumbers! Sadly it seems the kitchen forgot those so they came out with our meals. Do not skip on these! So worth the wait. We each tried a different roll, I liked the Bluefin Tuna Avocado the best. The tuna was creamy and the crispy seaweed added texture. I also tried the hand roll, I would skip it for next time. Nothing too special and it was forgotten by the kitchen as well. Lastly the ice cream outside was yummy! I tried the pineapple ice cream with chocolate sauce and the strawberry matcha vanilla sundae. This place has so many options. Make a reservation early! It's Nashville's next top spot.

I got in here afer finding it on a secret shopper app. It is a corporate spot, originating in Chicago, but the concept is solid. The only sushi I have had recently that topped this was Kase x Noko, which is almost impossible to get in. The service was on top. On top of our server, Sannah, David Chen dropped soemthing off and we had a couple of minutes to talk about foodie spots and compare notes. It is nice when you find a restaurant in which the entire staff is focused on all of the guests. The spot is part of the Lettuce Eats Rewards Program, which works with Aba, as well. If you frequent these restaurants, be sure to join. The first thing to note is this place is extremely popular. We were in late during the week and the bar was jam-packed and every outside seat was taken. They also have a pick up window outside that had a line about 25 feet long. Yes, this is 12 South, so expected. The styling is modern. If there is a negative, it was that the hostess told us the sushi bar was full when it obviously wasn't. They may have had it closed down at that point? I usually prefer a seat at the sushi bar. The cocktails are great. The Old Fashiopned is done with a barrel pick of Maker's Mark and some Japanese whisky. Very smooth old fashioned. The supernova is a sweet drink, but not coyingly so. She said it was the best cocktail she has had in Nashville in quite some time. High marks. Food? I started with the miso soup. I can tell they use miso and not the miso packets by the flavor. As someone who loves to get miso at the Asian market, the packets just don't hold it for me. Her seaweed salad was also nice. Of course, both of these are fairly pedestrian and the star is the sushi. I did the nigiri san set. Freshness of the fish was A one. Flavor was top notch. Enjoyed the artistry of the plate as well. I did have to sub out the scallop, as I have an intolerance, but teh fish was on point. She loved the roll, which I could not eat as it contained some shrimp (allergy on this one :-( ). The desserts were both excellent. I ended up eating all of the ice cream and part of the brownie, with a bit left for home. She had the butter cake. Good, but not my favorite. The whipped cream, however, was wonderful and whipped to very stiff peaks (almost to butter). I dropped a copy of the receipt in the picture, as well as the entire menu (June 2026), so you can see the pricing. This is higher end, for sure, but I would return if I can't get a seat at Kase. read more

This spot lives up to the hype! I was a little skeptical at first because of the rave reviews I've seen, but it truly is an incredible dining experience. Sushi San is perfect for a nice date night or a girls night out. The low lighting, relaxed seating, and sleek minimalist decor are the perfect relaxing atmosphere to enjoy incredible sushi. When we first walked in the hostess checked us in for our reservation, and we were seated right on time. The service was perfect. Our server walked us through the menu, and we were never without anything we needed. I tried their crispy tuna rice and shishito peppers. The tuna crispy rice was good, but I have had better at other local spots. However, the shishito peppers are not to be missed! They are perfectly charred with a sweet glaze on top that compliments the peppers perfectly. The star of the show was the yuzu yellowtail and the drink, thank you enjoy #6. The yellowtail paired perfectly with the citrus of the yuzu, and it tasted incredibly fresh. The drink was a cucumber spicy marg that came in a fun to-go container. I will admit I'd seen the drink online and thought it was cute, but the drink was truly delicious. We did stop outside for soft serve, and the ube shell was incredible! I'd stop back by just for ice cream! I'll definitely be coming back soon! read more

Sushi Shan did not disappoint! We started with the Wagyu tartare, and it was the perfect way to kick off the meal. We ordered the sesame salmon, truffle shiitake, and yuzu yellowtail rolls, and every one was delicious. The chu-toro (Balfegó bluefin tuna) was the standout, it absolutely melted in your mouth. We ended with the sticky miso caramel cake and like everything else was amazing.The service was awesome, and our server had great recommendations. Can't wait to come back! I recommend a reservation as we came on a Wednesday and it was packed. read more
Came here with my Dad and my sister for the first time. Sushi San has been on the list of restaurants to try for a while, and let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. We appetizers we ordered: 1) Tagarashi Chicken Nuggets, which was recommended by our waiter 2) Crisy Rice - Spicy Tuna For our entree my sister and I shared: 1) Kabayaki Eel 2) Spicy Salmon 3) Beef 'N Bop Sizzlin Rice My dad ordered the Peking Duck Sizzling Rice. Everything was really good! I would have not ordered the nuggets but our waiter said he was one of his favorite things on the menu and it was delicious! Very flavorful. All the sushi we order was fresh and soo yummy! The winners by far was both Sizzling Rice dishes. So much flavor. Loved the service we received and the ambience. Would be great to come back for a date night. Loved the music choices that was playing as well. It's a fun environment. I can't wait to come back. 10/10, totally recommend!! read more

This place is still pretty new and hot, so you definitely should try to make an RSVP. The place is hip and the ambience is nice. Great spot for a dinner date. The food is good and it tastes fresh (which is important for sushi). Really enjoyed all the dishes that were ordered and the server was friendly and attentive. As for parking it's 12 South so if you find street parking good luck, otherwise just find a paid lot nearby. After dinner, stop by the soft serve window front! So worth it. read more

Sushi San The restaurant itself has a very nice ambience inside. It is dim, loud, and the tables are pretty close together. I sat at the sushi counter which was cool to experience. This is more of a personal thing but the sushi counter was very fishy smelling. Having been to many other sushi places and omikase I have never noticed a fish smell at any of those. The chefs at the sushi counter were very nice but not too chatty. Starting off the spicy tuna crispy rice was very good. The crispy rice had a little bit of a char or burnt-ness to it that I actually really liked. The tuna on top had a nice flavor to it as well. The next dish was the bluefin chili ponzu, it was thin sashimi slices with thinly sliced watermelon, then topped with chili crisp. I had heard rave reviews about this dish and I just found it to be okay. If the chili crisp had more spice or there was a sciracha element for a sweet and spicy taste I think it really would have elevated the dish. The gyoza was just okay, it was pan fried and had some sort of sauce on top of it but the sauce really didn't have much flavor. The gyoza also needed an additional sauce or component to it in order to add a wow factor. It was overall fairly bland. The mega box was the "San set" we ordered. It comes with 8 pieces of nigiri on top, 12 pieces of sashimi in the middle and then two rolls on the bottom. The nigiri on top was incredible. The lean tuna nigiri was delicious. The yellowtail nigiri was also amazing. There were two salmon nigiri on top, one was marinated in soy sauce overnight and one was traditional. The soy sauce salmon nigiri was the star of the nigiri rolls for me. The sashimi was really a let down to be honest. There was amberjack, flounder, tuna (unsure of which part of the belly) and octopus. I will start with the amberjack which really threw things downhill, it was cut in legit 1/2" thick pieces and because of that was extremely chewy and just unenjoyable. The flounder had a pretty fishy taste to it which again, is a personal thing but a turnoff for me. The octopus was fairly traditional but compared to some other octopus was chewy and tough. The tuna was okay, nothing really bad to say about it. The rolls on the bottom were fairly plain, one was rice with seaweed topped with tuna and only had cucumber inside it. It was fine, taste exactly as it sounds. The other roll was yellowtail and amberjack, and based on our experience with the amberjack sashimi we did not even touch it. The desert was really the best thing we had and it was incredible. I would buy it by the truck load if possible. The sticky miso caramel cake was basically like a sticky toffee cake with ice cream on top and there was some crunchy element topped on the ice cream. It was amazing. Drinks were good, nothing to really fault or brag about drinks wise. Service was a little slow but it was absolutely packed inside the restaurant so I cannot fault that one bit. Overall if you go here I would stick to the 8 piece nigiri which were all incredible and try as many of the sides as you can. read more
Sushi San is hands down some of the best sushi I've had in Nashville. The atmosphere is sleek and lively -- perfect for date night or a fun dinner out. It feels upscale without being stuffy. The sushi is the real star. Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. The nigiri melts in your mouth, and the specialty rolls are so well balanced. You can tell quality is a priority here. Now, the service could use a little fine-tuning. It wasn't bad, but it didn't quite match the level of the food -- a bit slow at times and not as attentive as I expected for the vibe. That said, the food absolutely makes up for it. I'd still come back in a heartbeat because when the sushi is this good, it's worth it. read more

Came here last month for the first time and am STILL thinking about it! Not just the food (which was incredible by the way) but also the service (Holleen? I think!) and the ambiance. Everything here was top notch. What we ordered: - Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice -Beef 'N Bop - Crazy Shrimp Tempura - A few rolls (my friend ordered...I was too distracted by how delicious the appetizers were to pay attention but the rolls were great. The STAR of the show was the Otoro. That was some of the best tuna I've ever had in my life and is only comparable to when I lived in Japan and got to go to some fancy restaurants. Ughhhh I know you may be thinking, but Mia? It's $22 for two pieces? Yes I thought the same. And then the impulsive libra side of me stopped caring and gosh, I keep thinking about how it melted in my mouth and how I wish I had ordered the Mr. Maguro San Set. I will be back! And also, shout out to Holleen again who really made our experience extra wonderful. It was a busy night and she just breezed in with a smile, great suggestions, and a sense of humor that was so appreciated. read more
The food was really delicious and flavorful. I must have come on an off night my service wasn't the best. The waiter seemed a bit flustered and occupied with other tables. Forgetting items I ordered however I was among good company. The ambiance is cute for a girls night or date night. Love the option to sit inside or out. Sushi-San has some of the best sushi! It's super fresh and is packed with flavor. I love the uniqueness of the crispy rice. Service was super quick, received my food in under 5 min. Dinner at Sushi San was all that and more! We were greeted by Ernesto our server who was a rockstar from start to finish. His recommendation and attentiveness: Top notch. The apps are a MUST!!! And they were to die for. We ordered the Taco Tako and the lettuce wraps. You must order these, so delicious and full of flavor. For dinner we ordered one of the tiered boxes course #1 and #3 were very flavorful and delicious, I did not really care too much for #2 For dessert we did the 3 mochi platter and the mochi brownie (yes we love mochi) there was a mandarin flavor mochi that is the best dessert I have ever had. So worth the reservation and so worth the splurge. We can't wait to be back! read more

I was really excited to try Sushi San but perhaps we came on an off day service wise. Our reservation was at 8 and we checked in at 7:50. The host said we would be seated very soon, but we waited till 8:20 to be seated. No worries if they were running late, but just wish this was communicated to us since we checked in with them a couple times and they kept saying we would be seated in a moment. When we were seated, our waiter was not very helpful. It was our first time there, and we asked the menu to be explained to us but the explanation was very lackluster. We were mid sentence with him and he walked away to attend to some other matter. He also brought out soy sauce after we already had eaten part of the meal, so it would have been nice to have that right away. I had mentioned on the reservation and to the person seating us that we were celebrating a birthday, and she nodded and seemed excited. However, nothing celebratory was brought out. I totally understand if restaurants do not provide complimentary desserts, but it is strange to have had an option to include "birthday" when making the reservation and the person seating us acknowledging it without anything being brought out. We ended up getting ube dipped froyo at the takeout window next door, which was very yummy! In terms of food, nothing really stood out to us besides the Tempura eggplant. I really enjoyed the seasonings on it, and it went perfectly with the mayo dip. The chilled soba noodles needed extra flavor / texture and tasted quite plain. The cashew crispy rice salad was unique, but the crispy rice squares were quite chewy and hard to eat with the salad. My friend said that the crispy rice tuna was only ok, and the bites were quite small. All in all, will definitely be back for froyo but will likely pass on the restaurant itself. It was quite packed even on a weekday, so would rec checking online if any reservations are open before coming in! They comp 50% of parking, but we were able to find free street parking nearby. I liked the decor inside, with the wood accents reminding me of Japanese architecture. read more

Overall Rating: Solid 4.5 Stars Such a cute sushi spot in 12 South! Parking: We parked on the street, which worked out totally fine. There may be a parking garage available in the area but I am not sure. Street parking should be manageable depending on the time of day. Ambiance/Decor: The ambiance was soooo cute! The vibe is dark but in a good way and the music selection was awesome. It felt like they knew every song we loved! It has a really inviting and well-designed space that adds to the overall dining experience. Customer Service: The customer service was good, but we did have to wait quite a while before being greeted by our server to the point where the manager had to assist us while our server got caught up with his tables. Once we were taken care of, the service improved, but the initial wait was noticeable. Food: The food was INCREDIBLE and tasted so fresh! Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. You can taste the quality in every bite and the plating was super cute, too! For dessert, the soft serve is the best soft serve I have ever had and I'll say it is definitely a must try! Overall: Sushi San is fantastic and the food alone makes it worth the experience. The only reason why I am not giving a full 5 stars is because my water glass arrived to the table dirty (lipstick stains) and we did have to wait quite a while for service initially. However, the incredible food quality did make up for those minor hiccups. If you're looking for fresh, perfectly prepared sushi in Nashville, Sushi San is the place to go! I was so happy to get a table here, this restaurant is definitely worth the hype! The service was great, we had Brandon taking care of us and he was so knowledgeable about the menu and definitely helped steer us in the right direction. (And helped us with some non related trivia too! Ha ha) Monica in the bar shakes up delicious cocktails for us and we had just the best time. This may be a regular in my restaurant rotation for Nashville! I loved my dining experience recently with food, ambiance, and service checking all the boxes. Ambiance is elevated and lively. Shoutout to Leah, our server, who was so welcoming, had great recommendations, and spaced everything out perfectly. Standouts: Otoro + Otoro Hokkaido scallop (nori-infused french butter, lime zest) Cashew and crispy rice salad Make a reservation if you can, but there is a big bar that is always a backup to eat at! I've been waiting to try this spot and it was worth the wait. When I walked in and heard the music going on, I knew it was going to be a vibe. I went right after work so it wasn't busy at first but definitely picked up later. Our server walked us through the menu and gave us some of his recommendations since it was our first time. We ordered the king crab crispy rice to start and then a couple of sushi rolls: the kabayaki eel, bluefin tuna/avocado and the sesame salmon. We also had the beef n' bop rice. Everything was delicious. The rice was super flavorful and every roll was good. It was hard to choose a favorite. It all tasted fresh and was just good for the soul. I've only heard great things about Sushi San since they've opened & decided to go try it out for myself. Unfortunately, I had a much different experience than what I expected. The atmosphere, bar, decor, vibe, and service were all pretty great. The food however, not so much. I tried the spicy tuna crispy rice and had to send back because it wasn't properly cut and had stringy, unpleasant pieces with the first bite. It also lacked depth of flavor which was upsetting. To make things right, they replaced it with the bbq beef lettuce wraps which I did quite enjoy. The cucumbers were overpriced and lacked flavor, and the tempura shrimp roll was underwhelming. I was also charged $3.50 for a miniature can of club soda which was a shocker for me. By the time we tried the bites we did, we opted to cash out and go elsewhere for dinner. Overall, my first try at Sushi San wasn't at all what I'd hoped for. Maybe second time's the charm. read more
Let me just take a moment to give praises to the playlist at Sushi San. I was dancing in my seat the entire time. We sat on the patio and it really elevated our experience. The duck fried rice was so flavorful and came out sizzling. Let's give it up for my drink that came out in a takeout container. So cute and different. We didn't get to try the soft serve ice cream due to the line being long. Therefore, I have to come back. I think I've found me a new spot in 12 South! read more
I was a bit hesitant to go to Sushi San because it just opened up in Nashville about 2 months ago and I normally wait to go check out new restaurants. We made reservations on a weeknight and it was packed. It was actually pretty big, kind of dark with music, perfect date night spot. Started off with cocktails and we really enjoyed it. You have to get the soba noodles and Waygu crispy rice. We got yellow tail, a few different rolls, nuggets, tacos, the duck bowl. We even went and got ice cream next door and that was great. I've been a couple times now, it's my new favorite spot and service has been great every time. read more

The best things at Sushi San were, incidentally, not sushi. Their drinks were fantastic (get the Banana Milk Punch and the Thank You, Enjoy #6) and their appetizers, especially the hot ones, were excellent. We loved their Vietnamese pork "robata" (came as a pile of charcoal grilled meat, not skewers) , their brussels sprouts, and their togarashi chicken nuggets (stellar rendition of karaage!). I thought their rolls were actually pretty good too, my favorite being the Super San. Their fish itself was pretty great quality for being in a landlocked state - everything comes from the Toyosu fish market. They were out of a lot of their tuna parts and I can understand why because the stuff we did get to try was lovely. I had two main complaints. First and most pressing: the rice was very lackluster. Underseasoned, completely lacking of any complexity that you can usually expect from sushi rice (no vinegar taste, no mild sweetness), and more of a cold block. Sort of like it was pre-formed as prep and left somewhere to wait for a fish decoration instead of shaped with the fish to order. Not sure if that was the case, but that's what it seemed like. That's why the rolls were better - either less rice or a better ratio of stuff-to-rice. Second, the uni was really unpleasant to eat. It looked gorgeous, but tasted genuinely terrible and left a lingering acrid bitterness. I know uni can be very hit or miss, so I hope that this is just a one-off fluke and we were the unfortunate bearers of it. I don't think I'd try it again here. We were very grateful that our server was kind enough to take it off the bill ($36!). In summary: the best parts of the meal were the hot appetizers, the drinks, and the rolls. The nigiri was decent, but the rice was largely disappointing. The fish itself is good quality, with a huge exception made for the uni we received. Service was kind, but definitely busy with a full restaurant. They take gluten allergies pretty seriously: gluten free soy sauce options, dedicated labeling, and knowledgeable staff. Four stars because I don't think Tennessee is generally known for their sushi, and I do think this a good spot for the area. Sushi-spoiled Los Angeles girl thinks it's probably closer to a 3.7/5 all things considered, and I'm still looking for my holy grail out here. read more
Super excited to try this new spot! Made reservations in advance and super glad we did because it was very busy! Reservation was for 7 pm and we were seated around 7:15pm. Waiter had good drink recommendations but because it was busy we didn't really get checked up on a lot after we got our food. We have 0 complaints on the food! Flavor was delicious and we ordered a good array off of the menu. Beef n bop was the winner for us! The flavors and experience was so cool! As we were eating we found our selves bopping along to the music. The volume was at a good level where you could jam out but be able to hold a conversation without yelling. 10/10! read more

Sushi San in Nashville is such the addition we needed and we knew it. All the way from Chicago, I have so many fun date night memories at their locations over the windy city, so it made me extra happy to see it here after moving to Nashville. My husband and I stopped by for casual drinks and grabbed seats at the bar - place gets super busy, be advise-, but of course we couldn't resist ordering food once we saw everything coming out of the kitchen. I ordered the Kyushu Cosmo and my husband, as usual, went with an iced cold Asahi. For food, we mainly ordered from their rotating sashimi and nigiri specials, which is always fun because there's something new to try. We had the fatty tuna, salmon, and scallop nigiri- every single bite was out of this world. We also added a few maki rolls. For our second round of drinks, I tried the "Thank You, Enjoy #6" cocktail, which was so refreshing and creative. It's made with tequila, mezcal, jalapeño, lime juice, and cucumber, and it was served in a to go rice container, so fun! The place has such a great vibe, just like back in chi. Lively, stylish, and welcoming. It fits perfectly in 12 South. Will absolutely be back soon for a full dinner. read more
