A near perfect experience. Absolutely beautiful restaurant. We were entertaining friends. Met my wife early and we sat at the bar. Ordered drinks, and one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had. Ordered the Dynamite Roll. Incredible sushi. Bartenders were friendly and accommodating. Moved to our table with our guests. Our server was Sam. She was one of the best ever. Service was attentive, the pace of the evening, as far as food being delivered, temperature, quality, etc., was perfect. Incredible lobster bisque. Amongst the 4 of us, we had Chilean Sea Bass (2), Teriyaki Salmon, a 10 oz filet, basket of bread, chophouse corn, blackened brussels sprouts, and wine. ALL excellent. We were celebrating a guests birthday, and Sam treated us to a Warm Butter Cake that was enough to share. I was expecting it to be good, but it exceeded my expectations. Will return often. read more

The drinks were great and the decor is genuinely beautiful, and the staff were friendly throughout. Unfortunately that's where the good stuff ends. Entrees were average at best, and took a long time to come out. The shrimp cocktail arrived with the shrimp still deveined. Both the shrimp and crab cocktails came with ice that had already melted by the time they hit the table, which doesn't inspire confidence in freshness. The asparagus was essentially raw, like it hadn't been properly prepped before going out. For the price point, I'd also expect a bit more of a dress code -- right now it feels more like a hookup bar than a serious dining room. I went back and forth on whether to review the new Ocean Prime in Nashville Yards. While the manager ultimately did something to address the situation, we felt as though getting to that resolution was far more difficult than it should have been. I don't want others visiting this restaurant expecting the elevated dining experience we anticipated and feel we did not receive. The reservation process was easy, and we were seated promptly at 7:05 PM for our 7:15 PM reservation (we arrived at 6:53 PM). It was a special occasion with family from out of town, so I was taking photos throughout the evening and have a good sense of the timeline. Within 30 seconds of being seated, our waiter greeted us, poured water, and took our order. We ordered one appetizer, which arrived promptly. The experience then went downhill. Around 7:50 PM, another waiter approached our table and informed us he would be taking over our service. He asked, "Are we still waiting on something? Entrees?" We told him yes and that it had already been nearly 45 minutes. He said he would check on the order...but then didn't come back. Instead, after another delay, a woman arrived carrying a Sea Bass entrée that nobody at our table had ordered. After telling her no one ordered the Sea Bass, she left. Later, she returned and asked us to repeat our orders. She explained there had been a mix-up and said she would be bringing some meals out before others. We were shocked..and told her we really preferred to all eat at the same time... At that point we asked to speak to the manager. We didn't mention anything in the moment because it was irrelevant to the food issue, but the entire time we were seated we were looking around the dining room at the apparel of the other guests that were clearly in extreme violation of the restaurant's dress code. One individual in front of us was wearing a cotton/hanes undershirt. After he left, another individual sat in his place with a tshirt cut sleeveless and we could see his long armpit hair sticking out from under his arms. Regardless of the distasteful atmosphere that reminded me of an auto zone waiting room, we proceeded to ask the manager (Katie) what was going on and how all of this was happening? She told us that the waiter must have just misunderstood my order. She apologized, and offered to give us a coupon or her card...whichever we preferred. We told her we did not prefer either of those options and were never met with any type of consolation or resolution to improve the current experience. In our fine dining experiences, even the smallest faux pas is met with a complimentary dessert drink (Iike a carajillo or limoncello) or a dessert - even if you didn't ask for it...they bring it out and they say "Please accept our apology for this inconvenience, and enjoy this limoncello on the house" Nothing like that was being proposed or done for us. The manager, Katie, just continued to ask us if we wanted her card and kept saying she'd be "Happy to give us her card". After a back and forth with Katie that gave us no satisfaction, the entrees finally came out around 8PM. Almost a full hour later - and they were cold. The food was cold, and the water was warm! (forgot to mention this earlier, but the water had no ice in it and was not cold water to drink). She came back and asked how the food was and we were honest with her in telling her it wasn't warm food. They offered to heat it up again, but we were already a quarter of the way into eating and at that point were absolutely starving. Katie kept saying "I'm going to do right by you." And "I'm going to take care of you" but having her specify what that meant was like pulling teeth, it was so painful. Finally at the end she specified her resolution and, honestly, we still left the restaurant unhappy. First, I'd implore the new Ocean Prime location to begin enforcing the dress code. Even in the slightest manner. It is also our experience in fine dining establishments that if a man shows up without a jacket, they have a room of jackets for him to borrow for the meal. Ocean Prime doesn't have a jacket policy, specifically, but they specify "Business Casual" or "Smart Casual" and aren't even meeting the bare minimum of a shirt that is not an undershirt and a shirt with sleeves for the men. Second, I'd like to give my condolences to the chef. You can tell he is very talented and I felt it to be such a sad, disservice to his skills to have his perfectly curated meals treated this way. I truly believe, had the food orders been correct, and served hot, with chilled/cold water, it all would have tasted very good and it could have been one of our best meals in Nashville. Very unsure if we will ever give Ocean Prime another chance at any of their locations, but I did just want to warn others that if you are going to this restaurant to pay for a meal that is over $1,000 in some cases, there is a chance you may get the same experience we did. read more

It was my first time at this location. My sister and Ai thought it would a great spot to take our Mom for Mother's Day. I love that they do validate parking for a couple of hours. We came here for brunch and they did have a small brunch menu. We decided to order off the regular menu. We started off with a sushi roll for the table, I also ordered the lobster bisque, both were delicious! For my entree I ordered the Chilean Sea bass, whenever I see this on the menu I have to get it. It was cooked perfectly. We also had amazing service from the time we entered the restaurant, until we left. I would love to come back for a date night with the hubby. We visited Ocean Prime on a Friday evening to celebrate two special birthdays, and it absolutely delivered on every level. As a Nashville native who doesn't spend much time downtown anymore, finding Ocean Prime was like rediscovering my city. I went to school downtown and used to know every corner of it. Stepping back into that energy was a wonderful bonus to an already special night. If you're driving, the east garage offers two hours of free parking, and valet is available for around $22. Both are convenient options for a stress free evening. The ambience was lovely and the music set exactly the right tone, making the whole atmosphere feel festive and refined. The drinks were on point and set the evening off beautifully. One cocktail even arrived with a monogrammed ice cube, such a cute and memorable touch that made us smile! Our server, Mariah, was an absolute rockstar. She was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and had a natural gift for making thoughtful recommendations without being pushy. She elevated the entire experience and we loved her so much, we tried to get her a raise! For starters, we enjoyed the caviar deviled eggs, a crab cake, and the lobster bisque, all beautifully executed and a wonderful preview of what was to come. Our entrées included the lobster linguine (absolutely to die for!), a lobster roll, and the sea bass, which was delicious, though I personally would have preferred it cooked just a touch longer. We also shared a side of corn that was absolutely delicious and the perfect complement to our meal. A small note on the sea bass aside, everything was outstanding. We finished the night with the butter cake and raspberry sorbet, the perfect sweet ending. To top it all off, Manager Jimmy came by to check on us and brought great energy and laughs to our celebration. It's clear this team genuinely cares about their guests. Ocean Prime was fantastic. The vibe is great, the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and it is in a superb location. We were here right before going to a concert and also celebrating our anniversary, so it is perfect for a date night or special occasion. I went with the lobster linguine-best dish I've had in a while. The sauce was a tomato butter sauce and it was absolutely perfect. The pieces of lobster were plentiful and succulent. My husband had the teriyaki salmon and he also loved it. We added some roasted broccoli for our side and that was also great. The bread basket is a must as well. We didn't have cocktails, but we will definitely have to go back to add cocktails with our meals. This is an excellent addition to Nashville yards! I visited Ocean Prime on Thursday, June 4th, to celebrate my birthday, and while there were some highlights, the overall experience was disappointing. The ambiance was beautiful, and the hosts were warm, welcoming, and attentive from the moment we arrived. We were seated at 5:37 PM and informed our server that we had an event to attend at 8:00 PM, so we were hoping for a smooth dining experience. The calamari was excellent and easily the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the lobster bisque was overpriced, served cold, and had a floury taste that was not enjoyable. I ordered the seared ahi tuna, but it tasted as though it had been prepared hours earlier and lacked the freshness and quality I expected. What was most disappointing was the service after our entrées arrived. We sat for nearly an hour with little attention from our server. It wasn't until we were getting ready to leave for our event that dessert was finally offered. Given that we were celebrating a special occasion and it was just the two of us, we expected a much more attentive and memorable experience. Ocean Prime certainly has a great atmosphere and a welcoming front-of-house team, but the food quality and service did not live up to the restaurant's reputation or price point. We were celebrating a birthday so it was a special night to be here. It was everyone in our group's first visit . We were greeted upon arrival with a nice warm welcome! We were excited to have a very knowledgeable server who was very friendly . Now time for the food. The deviled eggs were really good! We were not impressed with the oysters in that one of them had practically nothing in the shell and shouldn't have been served . When we ordered bread (that they charge for) they offered to bring some gluten free bread as well which they also charged for on top of the regular bread service . I ordered the sea bass which was over cooked and had no flavor and the broccolini was practically raw and I couldn't even bite into it . I had been excited about the sea bass because at other places that is one of my favorite foods , but here it was not . My husband's filet was overcooked and he said it was just ok . The rest of the party said their food was good but no one thought it was great . For the prices , it should be excellent. read more

A bald headed waiter then came by and said something happened to our waiter and he'd be taking over and ASSURED us that we would get (in his words) impeccable service from him. 5 minutes later, a woman came by and said she had the meals for 2 of us but not the 3rd person and did we want to start without the 3rd person. There's not many places in nashville I want to go a second time but Ocean Prime made the list! George at the bar made a great drink berries and bubbles! He was engaging but not overbearing.
