Sushi Sogo has been a staple in this community for over 20 years Under relatively new management (from my last review), Alex and his wife have been running Sushi Sogo for about 8-10 months now. They have introduced some new rolls, a text program that sends out coupons and specials, and a friendly positive vibe in the restaurant. We have visited two times under this new ownership and the food has been fresh and made relatively quickly. The sushi is a good quality, the tempura appetizer wasn't as good as I remember, the Niku udon was tasty but maybe a little smaller than in the past. While they still have lunch specials M-F, they have done away with dinner specials. If you haven't been in a while, give it a try. If you've been a fan for a long time, keep up the tradition. read more

An easy local spot if you're jonesing for sushi. They have a lunch special if you're able to catch the lunch time. Service was fast and accommodating. Lots of parking. On Wednesday mid-afternoon my friend and I went to Sushi Sogo for an early dinner. My friend had been there before the closing due to the pandemic and the remodeling. The restaurant was very well kept, not a piece a piece of dirt to be seen. Also, unlike the previous decor, the remodeling was warm and inviting. Our table was a douche at the window. We had a superior waiter, Kevin. Frankly, being that Kevin is a young man of 19 or 29 years, he was very mature for his age. He provided us with top notch service. He was extremely attentive to our needs, and very knowledgeable of the menu. We were very impressed by him. Due to the level of service Kevin provided to us, we gave him a very big tip. We ordered our dishes on a huge plater: California Rolls, Elle Roll, etc. the food was delicious. We also had hot Sake. Afterward, we enjoyed a dish of fried ice cream. Ijust want to submit a review of the Sushi Sogo restaurant in Cooper City. Bruce is the New Owner, I did not get to meet him. I wanted to try out their rolls so l ordered a firecracker roll and 1 Pockemon roll. I was disapointed in the size and also the taste. There was very little tuna and lots of stuffed lettuce in it. The pockemon roll was not tempura it was fried small shrimp. These two rolls cost $36 plus I gave him a $4 tip. When I got home I was so disappointed the rolls were no bigger than a quarter. They were tiny and there was hardly anything in them and what was unacceptable. unacceptable. Don't set your expectations up too high. This is the third owner and has had the place for a very short time. I believe that the old sushi customers would be very disappointed as was. I will never go back,good luck to the new owners. Headed to the physical rehab clinic in the same building and got hungry, and this place was in the same plaza, so I said why not? Glad I stopped! The decor is lively! Place is more modern than most of the sushi establishments I've been to aside from trendy Miami places. Service was very fast and extremely friendly. The Kinky Eel roll was so good. They served the eel sauce on the side, and they brought in a nice homemade spicy sauce to finish it up and the combination was spectacular. My family and I just went back into the restaurant after it being delivery only throughout the pandemic and it looks wonderful! Went in Aug. 8 for my birthday and we were treated wonderfully. I was hoping that under new ownership that the food would get better but it tastes exactly the same. I have been ordering the same two rolls for a really really long time and a few years ago something changed and they weren't good anymore. The rice is mushy and smooshed together and tastes weird. My family and I love coming to Sushi Sogo and go at least 3 times per month. Every time, the food has been consistent and very good. The rolls are fresh, as is the chicken fried rice (not overly oily, but just right). We've never had bad service. The owner is very charismatic and we like seeing him when he's there! read more

This place has the WORST customer service I have ever seen. Called for a pickup order at 6:10, they said it'd be ready for pickup at 6:45. I got there at 6:50, and didn't get my food until 7:40. Not sure what happened to this place, it used to have great sushi. The rolls have gotten smaller & overall it just wasn't a good experience. The food was just ok. I don't think I'll be back as there are many other sushi restaurants in the area that are much better. New owners took over recently. Restaurant is very clean and welcoming. We had seafood soup with shrimps , crab and scallops, salad with ginger dressing and stir fry vegetables with chicken. Where to start, If I could give a negative star rating I would. Honestly, I would ask for a refund but I respect that everyone has to make a living. The only good thing about the meal was the mimosas and the ambiance. The miso soup was horrible, not even soy sauce could save it. The crab rangoon were small but the filling inside was even smaller and 2 out of 5 of them came EMPTY. We told the waiter and he gave us a few more after we were already finished with our meal and those came back oily and wet. The sushi rolls tasted horrible, the rice tasted old and soggy. I would give this place a 0 but I can't. The food here wasn't even remotely Japanese and was a very strange interpretation. The chef has no idea how to make what's on the menu and when asked about why the items have changed they seemed very confused. Had lunch here yesterday since I work in the area. Had the Sogo Signature roll which was very good and very fresh. Also had the Salmon Hand roll also very good, very fresh Salmon. To preface, I've been patronizing this restaurant for over 25 years. The food was always consistently good, but when the ownership changed after COVID, the service began slipping. Orders seemed to take twice as long - strange for a place that is usually empty when I go there. Tonight was the last straw. My waiter, a very young man and obviously new, got my order completely wrong, even after I repeated it three times. When the wrong items were brought to the table, I stated that I did not order them. The correct items were finally brought out, only double in quantity! I figured maybe it was a way of apologizing for the mistake made. The wrong item was left on the table, and I assumed that too would be gratis. Well, when I got the bill, it was for EVERYTHING - $74.00 worth. I stated that I did NOT order the one item, but was charged for it because I had put it in a to-go box. An adjustment was made to the bill, now $62.00....for 3 orders of Hitachi sushi (now $10 per order - outrageously overpriced for Nigiri barely bigger than my thumb), 1 order of tuna sushi, a small salad, and a hot tea! read more

My daughter and husband ordered Thai tea and it tasted very watered down, even after being remade. And when our sushi rolls came, they lacked substance. The rolls were mainly rice. We ordered a krab roll and I had asked if it was shredded and the waitress assured me it was, but when it was delivered, it was a Krab stick. So not worth the $100 we spent for 3 people. read more

This week we ordered a sushi boat for 3 take-out for our son's birthday. To say it was a disappointment, is an understatement. I know this is under new management, but they have a lot of work to do. The quality of the sushi and sashimi was beyond poor. Some fish even looked gray/brown. The price was pretty high- totaling $115+150 deposit for the boat. We got the deposit back when we returned the boat. When asked if we were happy, we told the lady about how disappointed we were and she simple shrugged and said "we've never gotten complaints before". Disappointing to say the least!
