3.5 stars This place has a solid spicy tuna roll, and the overall prices are lower than most sushi spots. The restaurant isn't large, maybe 16 tables, and it was slammed the entire time. It feels like a good bargain spot, which explains the popularity. I wasn't super impressed, but I understand the value. We did wait almost an hour to be served, which is longer than most places. The ambiance is your standard sushi-spot vibe. If I come back, I'd stick with the spicy tuna rolls since I liked them more than the specialty rolls, which is rare for me. If you're looking for decent sushi at a cheaper price and you don't mind waiting, this place could be up your alley. Happy eating! read more

The vibes of this restaurant was immaculate, the owner was super sweet and all of the customers the regulars that come there all the time ( Niel was so cool ! ) I'm from SoCal so I'm used to super fresh sushi right off the boat and this place definitely lived up to my expectations .. the food was immaculate especially for the price and I will DEFINITELY be back ! read more

I want to like this place, but honestly, it barely deserves 3 stars. The sushi came out looking extremely sloppy and unappetizing. Messy rolls, uneven cuts, and presentation that didn't make me excited to eat it. Taste-wise, it was passable, but the salmon roll was hard to eat. The one saving grace was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely tried to make the experience pleasant, which is why I couldn't give this any lower than 3 stars. I'd definitely drive the extra distance to find a different spot though. read more

I chose this place due to all the high ratings. That was a big mistake. The chicken Katsu was the finished chicken I've ever experienced and a Katsu. I think I was just eating fried batter and flour. Tempura was burnt. That is one of the biggest errors that someone can make. And those veggies were slice thin as well. This local spot serves up some amazing sushi in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The platting and presentation was outstanding and is something you might see in a food publication. It was extremely busy on my visit and the wait time was a bit longer than expected. With that said, if the attention to detail and time spent on each individual order is what contributes to the wait time, I'm ok with it if the end result is delicious tasting sushi. This place is amazing! The food is yummy and it's beautifully presented- very artistic and creative. Everyone that we dealt with from the hostess to the server to the sushi maker were really great friendly with genuine smiles. Truly the best sushi we've had in the Springs or Monument. We have been trying all of the recommended sushi places and finally found one that wowed us. The rolls used lots of high quality fish and fresh, soft rice. They even had specials of fish we had never tried. The service was excellent. They even convinced us to try the apple pie dumpling dessert which was amazing. It's a very small, unassuming space, but don't let that deter you! read more

Great, casual sushi spot! The food was beautifully presented. I had the crab rangoons and ebisu roll. They were both good. I tried my friend's unagi nigiri, and I wish I would have gotten an order of that as well. The dessert was my favorite part of the whole meal. Don't sleep on the fried wonton with apple pie filling (and it came with a scoop of ice cream). It was delicious. Service was great! Because I personally don't like the white fish & the chef readjust the plate to only have salmon, tuna, albacore tuna, octopus etc. Miso soup is tasty with some soft tofu in it. Portions for Chirashi can be easily split for two persons. It was a bit plate for good value $29! I'm happy with the customer service because he recognized us right away as a regular clients. Love the real ceramic with sakura pattern tea cup! Ambience is on the darker color decors. Neat & clean. They also offer many alcoholic drinks included sake. Deducted one point because I have to wait to ask my waiter to fill up my hot green tea. I wishes they can leave a small jar for me, so I can do self service on my hot tea. Came here for lunch and was happy with the quality of the sushi. The interior is what you'd expect, service is friendly and prices are comparably painful to pretty much every other spot I've tried in town. Plenty of parking available and the place is clean. The tables are up against a booth bench. There really arent any private booths from what I saw but there is a special menu posted on the wall. They also offer noodle dishes, and the ordering style is a bit awkward as they give the table one sheet to order from. I feel like rolls could get mixed up this way, but my buddy ordered noodles, so I cannot confirm or deny this. All in all worth a visit, just expect to spend some money! read more

Sushi were excellent and they have a decent serving of sashimis for the price. But the serving was slow. We got there right at opening around 4:35PM. We were the first customers. We got our order taken at 4:40PM. We didn't get our food served until 5:32PM. I don't know if it's usually like that. read more

It could have easily been a 5-Star review, except for an issue when we took our son there for his 16th birthday. We ordered $100+ of food for the four of us, but had a problem...we had a long human hair in one of our sushi rolls. We didn't make a scene, we discreetly called over our waitress and pointed it out. She apologized and said that she would have the roll re-made and take the price off the bill. We received the new roll and finished our meal. The food and service was good, but we were shocked when we got the bill because the sushi roll (which was $17.95)) was still showing on the bill. We were informed that the one with the hair in it was removed, but that they were charging us for re-making it! That was our first, and probably only time, going there, even though we went because of previous positive reviews and its location to our home. read more

We went during dinner rush and still received amazing service. Everyone was very tentative and we were given updates on where our sushi was at. They offered us mochi at the end of our meal to apologize for the inconvenience/wait for our food. I ordered the Heart Attack. My girlfriend ordered the Spider Roll and a Spicy California to share. WOW did the spice hit. It was great quality and looked/tasted amazing. As for the location, it is tucked in and a bit small. However, it has a great vibe and we would absolutely go back again. read more

This is hands down the best sushi in the Springs! We spoke with the waiter a bit about how they source the fish and they fly it in almost daily and it definitely shows! The service was super quick as well. The space has an indoor-outdoor living vibe that is super cool and it's extremely well decorated. All the nigiri we got was delicious! The rolls were also amazing, but honestly with the quality of the fish, we wish we would've gotten more nigiri. The only item we did not love was their version of bang bang shrimp. This was our second visit to this restaurant. We were greeted when we entered, and given our choice of seating. The decor is understated, but lovely. The young lady asked us if we liked miso soup - we said,"Yes!" So she brought us each a complementary bowl. And it was delicious miso soup. We also each ordered iced tea, After looking over the menu, we started with chicken gyoza. My husband decided to get a lunch bento box with fish Katsu as his entrée and a California roll as his side along with the salad and rice that normally come with the bento box. I chose to try the yakisoba with chicken, which also came with a side salad. The gyoza came out quickly, lightly fried. They were very tasty, although I found the dipping sauce a bit too vinegary - my husband, on the other hand, loved it. One nice touch was that they also offered both regular and low sodium soy sauce on the table, so I was able to make my own dipping sauce by diluting theirs with more low-sodium soy sauce. Our entrées arrived soon after, and we're beautifully plated. There were four large pieces of fried fish in my husband's bento box and the rice was extra sticky making it easier to eat with chopsticks. Everything was hot and delicious. He said the California roll was great. My yakisoba was full of marinated chicken and many vegetables. It was delicious as was the accompanying salad. Our Schur checked up on us repeatedly and made sure we had anything we needed. She refilled our teas and always asked if we needed more. This restaurant is known for having great sushi, and my husband said that the California bowl was indeed very good, so next time we visit, we will try some sushi! read more

I've been hearing that Sushi Spot is my daughter and son-in-law's all-time favorite restaurant. Typically, I'm babysitting when I visit them while they go there. I finally went with them and I know why it's their favorite. Food is fresh and delicious, and the service is authentic and friendly. I'm so impressed with the young dynamic owner and his generosity and professionalism. This place was recommended by an employee of the hotel we were staying at! Sushi portions were very thick (some might appreciate the value; but I don't enjoy the fish when it's not proportioned traditionally) we had the Colorado roll, chicken teriyaki bento box and some appetizers that were yummy! Service was okay; it was pretty busy and when I sent back the yellow tail (the pieces of fish were unpleasantly too thick) The chicken katsu was delightful Very small dining area- the tables stayed occupied with rotating customers so we took that as a good sign! Kid friendly and staff did a great job attending to everyone in a all hands on deck style. Over all a great sushi spot to try out in Colorado Springs! read more

While their dinner AYCE price is respectable, the variety and service was not. The menu (rolls in particular) are not as varied as other AYCE places in the city, and tasted ok. The nigiris were good size, but more rice than fish. The fish I've tried at other eateries is also fresher than what I tried at Umi. I'll give them points for having bulgogi, Katsu and other Asian sides as part of the AYCE. The tempuras I ordered were fresh and crunchy as well. Now, the service... while our server was courteous and sweet, their AYCE process does not have give diners a sheet on which we select what they want, instead the server takes your order every time and (hopefully, correctly) conveys it to the kitchen. Our nigiri order was delayed till course 3, and the rolls took forever to come out. I also felt that my table, and a few other tables around us were constantly waiting for the server to pay us attention so we could order or ask for utensils etc. The ambiance for weekend dinner-time was slow and lax. This new spot opened up about a week ago and I've been coming in frequently. The nigiri and sashimi are always super fresh! They have rolls for people who are adventurous and for people who are just starting their sushi adventure. And if you're not the sushi type they have plenty of kitchen food! The cream cheese wontons are AMAZING. They have great sized bento boxes and teriyaki plates. Tempura is light and delicious. This Sushi Spot is now even better under new ownership. Ethan and the new head Chef are coming up with some delicious new rolls! My recent visit was great. Started with Gyoza that were spot on. Even though you could make a legitimate argument that my decision contributed to the very drought situation this state is in. Anyways to the review. We ordered dinner from Sushi Ato. We chose this restaurant because 1. It was close to where we were staying and 2. it had more than the minimum number of stars to reassure me that the sushi is fresh. Our order consisted of two Philadelphia rolls, two Caterpillar rolls, an Alaskan Snow roll. We also got a Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen and the Seared Cajun Tuna. Unfortunately, we ordered takeout so I can't comment on the service. However, I did go inside and the restaurant nice. I'm thinking great for a date. It was spacious, nice afternoon sun, lots of windows, quiet. Certainly nicer than a box sit down restaurant. What I lack in dining knowledge about Sushi Ato I can make up for in food quality, quantity, and cost. First, food quality seemed good to me. All of the sushi looked, smelled and, tasted fresh. All of the rolls were a standard size with six to eight pieces. Our rolls by themselves fed one and a half adult females, one newly minted teenager, and a four year old. As for the prices, to me they were what I expected, about $13 to $15 per roll. As for the non-sushi items, the Seared Cajun Tuna was delicious. Cooked well, with a nice pink on the inside and well spiced on the outside. IMO the Cajun spices were more flavorful than spicy (hot). The only bad part, as is the case with most takeout, was that it was not overly pleasing to the eyes sitting in its takeout container. Lastly, the Spicy Chicken Miso Raman was tasty and not overly spicy. Furthermore, when we opened the container there was a ton of food. I bet two adults could make a good dinner out of this bowl, maybe with an appetizer or two. However, our bowl fed the other half of the adult female and our second newly minted teenager. But that's saying something! Teenagers are good at bringing their A game to a table and this one is no different. But, the bowl held its own and she walked away satisfied. Overall, I recommend Sushi Ato. Is it going to knock your sox off, maybe or maybe not. But, if you're jonesing for some sushi or a nice ramen bowl and you happen to be in Colorado Springs, on the north east side of the city you're in luck! Because that's right where it is!

During this time at least another 10 - 12 people showed up. Unfortunately this is not the first time we've experienced this scenario. Twice in the summer of 2025 the same thing happened. Each time we swore we'd never go that location again, but you can guess the rest of the story. I sincerely hope the employees working there; chefs, wait staff and others are not affected by this. The Management (or lack thereof) need to be held responsible. One customer called another location only to be told the earliest openings they had were at least a 1 hour wait. While on speaker phone the employee from the other location said they've had multiple complaints about similar incidents here.
