This was our second time here and it's one of our favorite AYCE sushi spots in Colorado Springs. They offer lunch or dinner which is roughly a $10 difference but I feel the dinner menu is worth it. Service is on point!!! We recognized the owner from a former sushi place we used to go to and he's the reason why we always went there. His contagious energy, welcoming spirit and just a great joy to be around puts this place at the top of our list. Service may take awhile if they're busy but the food doesn't disappoint. We so wanted to love this place after hearing a bunch of reviews but we had mixed feelings after we left. I will say off the bat the sushi was delicious. I didn't picture the several nigiri's we got which were also really good. We weren't thrilled that they offer a lunch AYCE but half of the menu is only available at the dinner price which was $10 more per person. We opted to do the dinner because of that. We tried the shrimp shumai which were fried and we were expecting steamed (our fault), the yummy crunch looked nothing like the picture on the menu and we didn't love it, and the spicy edamame was disgusting. Wayyy too much sauce that was more sweet than it was spicy and the edamame were mushy. They also made it super clear if any food or rice was left that we would be charged. My husband ate the edamame even though we didn't like it just to make sure we weren't charged. Our service was amazing and maybe we just ordered the wrong things from outside the sushi menu. Went to Ubin Sushi today for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! They offer AYCE Sushi and Hibachi. Their prices are good too! The owner and staff were all super sweet and attentive. The food was delicious and had a ton of items to choose from. It looks small from the outside but is huge once you go in and is a true hidden gem. They just opened a couple of weeks ago! This has to be by far one of my favorite sushi spots I've been to. My husband and I came in for the all you can eat dinner and it didn't disappoint whatsoever. From the start the staff are so polite and make sure you feel very well accommodated. They were very quick and kept our drinks full as well as making sure to ask if we needed anything. The restaurant itself was beautiful. It didn't feel cramped or anything like that and had great space for us to be able to bring our baby in with a stroller. Now to my favorite part which was the food itself. We tried about 4-5 different types of rolls as well as some amazing appetizers and sashimi. The quality as well as the flavor was absolutely fantastic. Definitely would recommend and doesn't break the bank either for great quality food. Can't wait to come back again soon! read more

This is easily the best sushi spot I have ever eaten at! The service and the food was absolutely perfect. Me and my friend both got the all you can eat sushi. Now imagine, the first tray they brought us was two rolls, so we were like " ok, looks like we have to order a lot, but hey it's all you can eat". So we got nearly every thing. After 15 minutes they brought us a platter nearly a quarter the size of the table. We were hungry so we devoured it like rabid dogs. The sushi variety was delightful. Spicy, creamy, umami, you name it, it's a thing. Then they brought more... Needless to say we had left overs. The food was flawless. The atmosphere is cute and nice. You can tell they took the time to design a place that had character. And the staff was so polite, and very nice. Please go here, it's a gem. Worth every penny. read more

We were visiting Colorado and saw Ubin Sushi and decided to give it a try. The presentation is beautiful and the staff is friendly. Upon receiving our sushi order and after a few pieces of nigiri, we noticed a black hair embedded in the rice of the nigiri. We stopped eating and waited for the waiter to stop by to inform him. He immediately apologized and offered 5% off our meal. We gladly accepted but wanted to leave a review of the type of place this is and what you might experience. The food is also 5/10. The fish is not truly fresh tasting but they do have great tempura. I, personally, I will never return and will never recommend Ubin. read more

Fantastic new sushi restaurant (which the area needed!). The AYCE dinner is all day on Sundays from 12-8pm. Wonderful selection of sushi, with new and unique rolls. Spicy edamame and miso were also fantastic. For $5 you can add a hibachi item and the steak was cooked well with good flavor. I really don't understand how this place has 4.7 stars because just about everything we ate was not good. The service was good but that doesn't matter if the food is just awful. Most of our sushi rolls were falling apart, didn't have eel sauce and the pictures were extremely misleading, the mayo on the roll is just straight up a slab of mayonnaise, not your typical spicy mayo. I had to spit out one of my nigiri pieces because the fish did not taste fresh. My Alaskan roll had more cucumber than salmon and avocado combined. I mean the list goes on which is extremely disappointing considering it's $33 a person for AYCE. I've been eating sushi all my life and I know what good sushi is. WHY are ya'll advertising "crab" in most of your rolls when it is ALL imitation crab? That's illegal. read more

Atmosphere isn't bad, music was really loud, but the decor was typical cater to Americans perception of Asian cultures type fare. Got the all you can eat and ordered a handful of items. I tried to order quite a few things, but every time they came back they were missing something. First order, got Bolgogi, BBQ Beef, White Rice, Pork Katsu, miso soup and BBQ corn. Waiter brought bolgogi, pork katsu, miso soup, and corn without our other items, chalked it up to miscommunication in the kitchen and that I would just order more. The bolgogi was average at best, and the katsu and corn were incredibly dry. Miso soup was typical. Second order, got bbq chicken, udon, pork katsu and white rice again. Waiter only brought bbq chicken, which was surprisingly good. After not being delivered the food I ordered, they forced the "free dessert" onto which was green tea ice cream covered in whip cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup (what in the actual f... is this combo)... TLDR: Service was awful, food was mediocre at best, and I left a $70 AYCE still hungry after being pushed through my meal by staff. Spend your money somewhere better. read more

Ambiance: was good. From the outside, it didn't look great but when you get inside, it looks like a proper restaurant. But that's not important. Food: was not that great. Miso soup was good, but how can you mess that up? We ordered volcano and dynamite roll and it looked nothing like the pictures (which, on second glance, were obviously from Google). Not to mention they were baked?? Whatever they had put on top (the white stuff) didn't taste good. The hibachi menu items were also mid. The steak was plain and the yakisoba noodles literally tasted and looked like plain instant ramen noodles. And when I asked for yum yum sauce (a usual hibachi sauce) they gave me a sriracha mayo sauce. Ugh. Just say you don't have it. The fried rice was not pleasant either. It was so mushy I couldn't stand the texture. Service: Literally horrible. So this place is an all you can eat where they give you a paper and you basically mark the menu items you want then they take it to the back. At first it was fine, we ordered. The server took it, and we waited. After a while we got the soup and hibachi items, but we literally finished all of it and waited like 30 minutes for the sushi rolls we ordered. My husband watched a whole 1.5 episodes of the kids Netflix Spiderman show that was on the tv behind me. That's how long we had between finishing our hibachi items and waiting for the server to ask him about the rolls. The server, instead of saying sorry, said that because the rolls we ordered were baked items, they take longer. My husband asked "20 minutes longer?" After the server went to go check on it, he came up and admitted that the cooks did make it for us, but we didn't get it. Like, maybe you should've gone to check it before trying to gaslight us into thinking that long of a wait was normal. We then ordered more to try to get our moneys worth and it took a while (but by this time, they were actually busy so we were giving them the benefit of the doubt) and the rolls came too. But yeah they weren't good. We thought that maybe if the sushi was good, we could come back despite the bad service, but yeah never coming back here. Also, our server had bad breath that I couldn't stand. It really grossed me out. He wasn't even speaking closely, it just radiated towards us. Anyways, we ordered more (again to get moneys worth) but cancelled it after waiting a long time again and asked for the manager who kindly gave us 20% discount. Thats why it's a 2/5 and not 1/5 rating. We spent a total of 90 minutes there and over half of the time spent was waiting for food. To be honest, it may have been just that server that was the problem. The manager (who was serving) seemed to be doing a great job, and a younger male server seemed good too (he's who we asked to get the manager for us). It was the middle aged man who I would not recommend to anyone to be their server. But of course, I cannot blame the server for the bad food. Also, I don't usually write bad reviews because I've never experienced something like this. Seriously, I've never asked for the manager before. That's why I only have these two photos. We were one of the first to arrive and once we walked in we were greeted with happy faces. We were promptly seated and given a menu. Our drink orders were quickly taken and I ordered a hot tea and the owner kept checking in on us and letting us know the water was heating up and kept apologizing. He also gave me an ice cold water jic. We did the AYCE lunch and there was a great selection. Very clean restaurant and the fish was nicely portioned, not too big and not too small. Presentation was beautiful. Docked 1 star because the rice was a little underdone.... Maybe another 2-3 minutes so it's not as hard? But my husband said he doesn't mind it so much because the fish was delicious and did not have any fishy smells. The dynamite was so creamy and sweet (not my fave but the hubs liked it and helped me eat it). The calamari was so good! Light and fluffy batter and not oily. Owner was very sweet and attentive. He kept asking us if we wanted anything else even though we were stuffed and ready for our check. He even offered ice cream! That comes out in a martini glass with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
