Really cool spot open late at night and serving up some really good sushi and bar snacks. I just love Japanese style bars because they combine my favorite type of food with beer. The atmosphere is really chill and relaxing. Service was great as well and they made sure to ask if we needed anything before they closed their kitchen since we showed up after midnight. Came here as a farewell send off to a good friend/coworker who this is their favorite bar and this place did not disappoint! I ordered the razorgirl because it had peach and cranberry so I knew it would sweet and it was! So good it was easy to drink and it was strong! I had to order some food after drinking it so I chose the fried dumplings and those were perfect! Crispy yet soft and packed with flavor! They were so good I devoured them quickly and left me wanting more! We really enjoyed our time, the atmosphere is casual and makes for easy conversations. The staff were great making sure we had everything we need, checking on us multiple times. I definitely will be back to try more drinks and food! read more

This was my second time visiting and I love it! First off it has a unique vibe. I've read it described as cyberpunk. I think that's accurate. I got a lychee mocktail which I loved. Also, they had a special shrimp lettuce wrap thing and that was amazing! The shrimp were fried well but not heavy and the sauce on it was good. Went well with the lettuce! I also enjoyed the tempura tofu bowl. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side for me but still really tasty and the mushrooms add a great flavor too. Finally I loved the combo rice bowl we got with both seared ahi tuna and salmon sashimi. Definitely worth visiting! And yes the service is worth mentioning too. read more

I knew I was going to love this spot the second I walked in. I was so very right with that initial feeling. The staff were absolutely so friendly. Everyone seemed to help everyone, loved seeing that. The food was delicious. My friend and I both ordered miso soups (which came with an onion ring each. Such a fun addition), the pickled cucumbers and some gyoza to share. It all was delicious. Oh! And we ordered peach izeko sparkling sake jelly shots. Our favorite of the night. We each got two and if we had more time, proooobably would have ordered a few more. They were evenly fried and had a really good seasoning on the outside. Unagi bowl - A+. It had a good amount of eel and goodies. All of the flavors complimented each other. Decon Fakey 180 - A+. My husband is from Chiba, so when we were visiting the Springs and he saw the sign for Chiba Bar, we had to stop in. It turned out to be a cyberpunk, anime themed bar with very tasty drinks and Japanese snacks. The bar is based on the book Neuromancer. My geeky heart was delighted. I had the razorgirl to drink, and we had takoyaki and gyoza for snacks. The takoyaki were amazing. The gyoza were a little overcooked but the flavor was good. I love the ambiance here; the art is awesome and the anime and campy movies on the screens is a blast. It's loud, but that's what I'd expect. Everyone was having a lot of fun. The servers are great. The owner came over to chat and he's very friendly. Everyone was busy but service was prompt and the drinks are great. Love it here! read more

GF was a little hard to come by on the menu. I wanted the analog roll but the spicy tuna/salmon was already mixed with soy sauce that has gluten in it. We got the cucumbers which were gluten free & so was the spicy salmon bowl. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to really spicy food & this bowl had me sweating profusely! So if you can't take the heat don't order it! My husband got the Devon fakey bowl & said the shrimp was really crispy & very good! I really liked the atmosphere, it was a bit of sensory overload. The aesthetic was Asian cyber punk, pretty neat. Light mellow music playing in the background and not loud. Japanese animae playing on the tv next to the bar. We ordered the takoyaki, pork and chicken gyoza, unagi bowl, and spicy combo donburi bowl. The gyoza was nice and crispy but the inside was a little mushy, but the flavor was delicious. This place has a cool atmosphere. It's kinda dark inside but everyone is friendly and they don't have loud music blaring. Our server was excellent. She went over menu with us and offered their special that was awesome!!!! The miso soup was different from what I'm use to but was delicious. We had the Warm Ugani Rice Bowl, Miso Soup Spicy Ahi Tuna Bowl and their special for a limited time the Nigiri Hamachi that was amazing. This was my favorite out of everything we tried. I'm only mad that I haven't visited sooner. This place is absolutely amazing with the friendliest staff in the Springs. The Japanese cyber punk vibe is incredibly neat with anime playing on multiple screens. The bar stocks a great selection of Japanese whiskey at a very reasonable price while also having a fantastic cocktail and sake menu. Now the food, it is a limited menu but it is otherworldly good. I had the Spicy Ahi Tuna Donburi and I think they laced it with addiction because I already want to go back. The avocado was fresh and creamy while the tuna was seared perfectly. The spice must flow...and it did in this dish, masterfully. I left full, happy and properly libated. Portions are so small... We ordered two bowls for takeout and the box size was like one of those small plastic clamshell containers that are meant to hold a square piece of cake. SPICY COMBO DONBURI BOWL: Clumpy rice... Tobiko and seaweed salad were decent. Very little avocado and fish. Their spicy sauce was overpowering everything in the bowl (really salty). Beyond the initial spiciness, the actual flavor of the fish wasn't that great, either... Some chunks were mushy... My bf's Warm Unagi Bowl was also small and overly salty, but better protein portions. $16+ for each bowl. Chiba bar is by far the coolest spot I've been to in Colorado Springs. The ambiance in here is just the right mix of Japanese subculture, Anime and 80's new wave. I had the combo bowl at the bar and really enjoyed the many layers of the bowl and the complex flavor combinations. It wasn't traditional Japanese it definitely has a twist but it was really tasty. We were honestly a little disappointed in Chiba Bar. 3.5 stars overall, at best The black cod ceviche special was the most disappointing. Black cod is an incredibly flakey, buttery delicious fish, however Chiba bar's preparation of it was downright criminal. It was bland and didn't showcase the best version of flavor & texture that black cod can have. The accompanying chips were hard as a rock. This dish got 1 star. The other couple dishes we got were pretty good. 4 stars. The drinks were OK. They were served lukewarm warm when they should have been cold. 3 stars Service was decent. 4 stars Actually a little disappointed in the atmosphere. Super fun little japanese bar with some awesome, personable service. Sauzerac was bomb. Their 180 roll, bomb. Donburi rolls were full of flavor, fresh ingredients and again, bomb. Lots of fun hanging art and plenty of tvs with random old school japanese anime or random kung fu and video game plays. There was only one person for wait staff and bartendjng, so service was a little slower, but we were by no means disappointed.
