Tried Sushi Spott around 8:30pm and it was definitely giving busy night energy. It's located in a small plaza, but there's free parking which is always a win. We went all in and ordered the Love Boat plus a few extra nigiri, and everything looked SO good when it came out. Super fresh, nice variety, and honestly just fun to eat. The presentation alone made it feel like a whole experience. Also ordered the Lamborghini roll... and yeah, no picture because we were too hungry and devoured it immediately but it was really good. Only thing, service was kinda slow. Not terrible, just noticeable (it wasn't packed on Friday night and however they did have a lot of Togo orders). Once the food came out though, it made up for it. It's decent! If you are craving for sushi in the H-Mart food court, Sushi Spott will deliver for fair prices, especially with their "Buy 3 Rolls" deal. I opted for the Salmon and Tuna Maki along with their California Roll for our to-go order. The rolls were wrapped neatly and healthy amounts of ginger and wasabi were provided. For $30 for 4 orders of rolls, that was enough to satisfy the sushi craving. My only complaint was that the Tuna (assuming Ahi) in the Tuna Maki had a very fishy taste and lacked the quality I was expecting. No complaints for the Salmon Maki or California Rolls as they tasted fresh and had a crisp snap when bitting into them. With so many little sushi places in my immediate area, it's an unofficial mission of mine to patronize alllll of them, at least once if not more. So today, I visited a cute little Sushi Spott (see what I did there? ) at the Murphy's Corner location in Mill Creek. I've seen this place for years and finally had the occasion to drop by. I was greeted by Mercedes, my very kind and friendly server. For a place that's rather nondescript on the outside, it had a cute ambiance on the inside, roomy, lots of tables, cool colors and neon signs, two tvs, and Caribbean-type music playing in the background, I like it. They have an exhaustive and colorful menu, wow - most of which isn't applicable to me, which is fair given this is a sushi place. The options they did have, were tasty .. hard to go wrong when it comes to sushi. They were out of the "Ocean Salad" (seaweed salad) so I had big sads for that but got over it quickly enough The Veggie Tempura was delicious (as per information they provided, their tempura is made with just flour and water, no eggs or dairy), good form. There didn't seem to be as much veggies as I'm used to when ordering the same at other establishments ~but~ the dish was only $5.95 so I would say the amount was absolutely commensurate with the cost. The Cucumber and Avocado Rolls, respectively, were equally on point! A huge pleasant surprise for me was finding a specific vegan menu option, vegan Karaage. I found the dish reminiscent of a really good vegan chicken nuggets. Upon research, I was able to determine that Karaage is a Japanese cooking method most often applied to fried chicken, so that makes sense. Overall, I really liked this place. Their options are very affordable! There's a lot of sushi places yet to explore but if I find myself in the area, I'll absolutely stop by for a quick sushi fix ... being sure to order the vegan Karaage again, hopefully get me some Ocean Salad , and just take in the ambiance while taking a brief load off my feet for a quick spell. read more

I had a fantastic omakase experience at Sushi Spot in Mill Creek and also at the H-Mart cafeteria in Lynwood! The chef put out his best choices and came out to greet us, the uni came straight from Japan and was SO FRESH! The Hawaiian garlic shrimp at Sushi Spot in H-Mart had me missing Oahu and my girlfriend and I devoured the whole box, without even peeling the shrimp the flavor was so good! Pushing my luck I did the sushi spot and try for the full restaurant didn't go as well, but this is what you can do if things go wrong. Starting at the end I got the bill and it had a QR code to pay, I use my debit card big mistake , because it going to take 2 weeks to get my money back. I pay the bill check my bank and the deduction was taken from my account as I was leaving I said I pay use the code the cashier said let me check, no problem I replied . She said it didn't go thru I show her my bank of American account and it had their buisness and the price of the meal with tip. She said it didn't go thru , I said she don't want any trouble I just pay double, she said it's not double I paid the bill without tip and it was as deduct from my account and I left .. problem solved. Now form the food I got the mussels , and lunch special bento box and sushi combo c. The lunch combo was huge and I try it was good and got lots of variety lots of crunch. A friend had gifted me a Groupon, so I decided to give them another chance and brought my toddler for a Saturday lunch. From the moment I mentioned the Groupon, the waitress seemed visibly annoyed. She spoke sharply about a 24 hour rule and made me scroll through my phone to prove the purchase date and fine print, which clearly showed it had been purchased two weeks earlier and was valid. We then waited a long time to order. When the food arrived, it wasn't what we ordered. I stayed polite and said we would just keep it to avoid trouble. While I was helping my toddler with her food, the waitress suddenly came back and raised her voice at me about not meeting a minimum spend requirement, something she never mentioned earlier even after reviewing the Groupon with me. She again demanded I take out my phone and scroll through more fine print. It felt confrontational and embarrassing. A male staff member, possibly the manager or owner, then came out and asked us to leave. Being yelled at and asked to leave while dining quietly with a small child was honestly shocking. No parent should have to deal with that. Between the harsh chemical smell, questionable freshness of the fish, incorrect orders, and openly rude service, this is absolutely not a place I would ever bring my family again. I visited Sushi Spott a while back and had a pretty good experience. I decided to come back and try it again, but it was quieter than usual. The service was friendly and fast, but the food was not as great this time. I ordered three rolls. The eel caterpillar roll was pretty good, but the Honolulu roll with seared salmon on top did not taste fresh and was not enjoyable. Another roll with scallop was also disappointing. The quality seems to have declined over time. Even though I could see the chef making the sushi, it did not taste fresh and was almost like grocery store sushi. Some grocery store sushi tastes even better. It was honestly hard to finish. Their miso soup was very very salty. I did not know ownership had changed and so did the quality and service. The first thing I asked the server for a house sake, she gave me liquor menu. If you're looking for good sushi and in the Mill Creek area, this is my go to place. There are such large menu you have to come multiple times. This particular occasion we came early for lunch. It was somewhat empty. We had our normal server. She was attentive and friendly as always. We stopped for a lighter fare though only one roll apiece. I ordered the rainbow roll which is my favorite by far. Fantastic. My wife ordered her usual the Honolulu roll, which was different this time. Not as good as normal. Usually the salmon is seared and it was not this time. It also had a different sauce over the top. Still great, but just not expected. The gyozas you can never go wrong. We normally tack on edamame, but like I said, we were going lighter this time around. I strongly recommend happy hour, which we normally do and order too much(but not really). We didn't try anything beyond the happy hour menu, but there seems to be lots of variety of Japanese cuisine from udon, teriyaki, don buri, etc all for reasonable price. The three amigos roll is fresh and one of my favorites. The menu is huge, which is nice but can take a while to look through the first time. My favorite sit down sushi restaurant that has a down to earth feel with some of the best sushi I've had yet! Reasonable/average prices for the area (Mill Creek). Wednesdays kids eat free with purchase of an adult entree (only off kids menu) This is a local faves and on Friday nights and weekends is very busy. We've been here several times and each time I try something new. The first time I had the sushi deluxe and it was decent although I didn't really enjoy the ebi nigiri. I've also tried the poke bowl - I wish the rice was better. Not bad but not great. Most recent visit I had the chirashi bowl and that was a delight! Very fresh and large serving of assorted sashimi over rice. Definitely more than enough (even though I ate everything). What I truly want to applaud is their willingness to custom make requests not on the menu. My daughter wanted an unagi hand roll with crab salad and cucumbers - she got exactly that and it was a very large hand roll. The only thing that wasn't really well thought out was adding the eel sauce to the outside of the roll - would have been better and less messy to add the sauce on the inside. As a delivery driver I often get orders from here. I've never tried sushi. As a black man I've always gotten a bad vibe from sushi spots so I figured that black folks money wasn't wanted. I kinda got that same vibe from sushi spott but decided to ignore the "I'm better than you." Vibes and I asked the hostess what a beginner should try. The California roll was promoted.
