I think this is a hidden gem! People are usually more familiar with Kura and Musashi nearby but food here was great! I got the sashimi platter and all the fish was really fresh and delicious. I also tried the nigiri and I love the ratio of fish to rice. Most places make the rice really big but this ratio is like how omakase places have it. Or it may even be bigger! The place is really chill and quiet and can be a good date spot! Food was great that I ate them too fast before I took any pics. I'll have to go back again sometime soon! read more

Decided to stop and try this sushi place out before I did some grocery shopping at hmart. It's a cozy restaurant where the back half is booths and the front is tables and a bar section. I sat at one of the tables in front of the booths. There are reviews about questionable service and It will agree. It seems there isn't someone dedicated to being constantly in the front so I was confused for a little bit on what the menu was. I was eventually given one. I ended up ordering the roll named after the restaurant and a sweet shrimp. I was given a miso soup although just chopsticks and no spoon. The roll was good but I was more amused by the sweet shrimp. I don't typically order sweet shrimp so I was amused to see that they'd fried the head. That is something I am a fan of because of the reduced waste. Overall I was pleased with my food as it felt reasonable fresh, at least the shrimp was. I don't think my roll involved that much raw fish but it was tasty. read more

Came here with my girlfriend after work one day for an early dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and overall great experience. Decent quality Japanese cuisine. There was only two people doing essentially everything (tipped above 20% for their efforts). With my crabby attitude, just as well I'm being left alone to focus on the meal. Stuck with plain cold water (no refill provided). A bowl of piping hot miso soup was also provided. I had to cool it closer to ambient, but it had decent flavor with the tofu cubes concentrated at the bottom. The sushi combo I selected had half a California roll and five generous pieces of nigiri sushi: kana/salmon, ebi/cooked shrimp, hamachi/yellowtail, tuna, and unagi/eel. This was followed with the tempura comprised of two fried shrimp and vegies. Vegies like broccoli, onion, potato, sweet potato. The lunch combos, bento boxes, nigiri sushi, noodles, and assorted rolls provided a large variety to chose from. Decent value and quality. Worth returning! read more

I ate their multiple times. Authentic Miso soup. You can tell it was made fresh and was a fish broth based and wasn't just a powdered version. Sushi was fresh every time. Chicken Yakisoba was also very authentic and excellent. They did use the correct noodles, most places seem to only use chow mein noodles. These were thin as they should be and was made with the correct Japanese flavor which is similar to a molasses type sauce. Most places just leave the sauce out and it just tastes like plain stir fry. The lady and man handled us with such grace and politeness. Japanese people are usually so humble and kind. We ordered three rolls to start our meal and based on how long it took to get we decided before the food came out we would not be ordering anything else. Unfortunately the rolls were subpar. The spider roll was cold snd in one part still partially frozen. California rolls smelled snd tested very fishy (not expected for that type of toll. Cucumber roll and negi Hama roll was ok, it was done differently than expected but tasted fine. I watched the staff prepare food, touch their mark, check out a customer, make tempura, garnish a to go order and never change gloves. I am from Boston, and like to try sushi in coastal cities I visit. I came here with my family while visiting my parents, because my mom (who is a huge foodie) said it's her favorite sushi place in the area. This is a family-owned business, and the couple that owns the restaurant does everything from preparing the food to waiting at tables. So a little patience is in order, and it's worth the wait. Since they are personally-invested, they ensure high quality of food and service at every step. We started with some Shrimp and Veggie Tempura for the kids, and the description on the menu that it was "lightly deep fried" was very apt. It was deep fried enough to be crunchy, but not so much that it was greasy. It tasted clean, unlike tempura cooked in overused, burnt oil. We, then, tried an assortment of nigiri, and I liked the generous sushi to rice ratio (and it was well-cooked, moist, sticky rice). Generally, sushi restaurants serve too much rice relative to the sushi in my opinion. My favorite here was the Toro (marbled tuna), which has a subtle sweetness and melt-in-your-mouth texture from the fatty, belly part of the tuna. I also liked the Unagi (freshwater eel), which was grilled to a slight crisp that adds a nice texture to this delightfully sweet and salty nigiri. In addition to the nigiri, we tried several of the special rolls. They were all very good, but my favorite were the Hot Night and Crazy Rolls. Our Crazy Roll had salmon, albacore, and tuna, along with egg, crabmeat, and avocado. The ingredients complemented each other and the tobiko all around it added a nice initial sensation and sweetness on the tongue. We mixed the Hot Night Roll with the Sashimi Salad, which was reminiscent of the Korean-Japenese fusion dish (Hoe-deopbap)--a combination of Sushi with Korean Bibimbap. The spicy tuna inside the Hot Night Roll paired well with the Sashimi Salad, which had a nice, hot kick from the smooth red pepper sauce. What was most impressive was that the spiciness didn't overwhelm the flavor of the sushi. We finished off with bowls of Tempura Udon. The hot and aromatic unami-flavored broth was a perfect way to top everything off. The broth was clean and not too briny, and the noodles retained their chewy texture and didn't get soggy throughout the duration of the dining experience. The decor was dark and the paint on the walls was chipping off. The plates were like plastic. Now on to the food, wow bad. The sushi wasn't rolled properly. The wasabi was runny and taste bad. The fish just wasn't fresh, the rolls were not properly put together. They did offer us soup, but it was poured out of a crook pot sitting in the middle of restaurant. When we came here for a quick lunch, we were the only ones in the restaurant as soon as it opened. Okay, so I might've been pretty drunk, but this place wasn't too shabby for a hole in the wall kind of place. My friend highly recommended this place to me and I finally gave him the opportunity to show me this place. The nigiri was priced okay, sashimi was a bit over the top, but what place isn't? I felt kind of spendy that night and couldn't decide between Sapporo or Sake. I can't quite remember which ones, but I definitely remember a Dragon Roll, a platter of Sashimi, and their Misoya Roll. The sushi was good if I recall properly. It's hard to remember since I was fisting sake in one hand and Sapporo in the other. What I thought was impressive was how they brought the cold sake to me in a bucket of ice. I've never seen a place do that for me before!!! I was blown away by that. Very cool. In the end, I ended up eating everything and drinking everything and walking out as wobbly as I could. I ordered the Misoya special bento and it was huge. 9 pieces of Sashimi, gyoza, tempura (two shrimp and 3 veggie), teryiaki chicken, rice, and miso soup.
