Sushi Spot
Trista H.

My wife and I met our friends for dinner at Sushi Spot. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Sushi Spot shares a spot in the building, therefore does not have its own restroom. Restroom is located at the end of the building hallway. Indoors is small felt unfinished to me. Unfortunately, Sushi Spot does not have a liquor license so I was unable to enjoy a glass of wine with my dinner. Sushi Spot doesn't really offer any dishes for people who do no care for sushi, example Teriyaki. We sipped on complimentary hot green tea while looking over the menu. For an appetizer we shared the Edamame for $5.50. My wife ordered Spam Musubi for $5.50 and the Super Spider Roll for $16.95. I ordered the BTS Roll for $17.95: crabmeat, shrimp tempura, avocado, unagi, salmon and jalapenos. I was a bit disappointed that the jalapenos were pickled rather that freshly sliced. Staff was friendly. Overall, Sushi Spot didn't meet my standards for a sushi dinner; lacking liquor and ambiance. In the future I would place a to-go order to enjoy at home instead of dining in.

Pretty solid sushi! I ordered the Caterpillar Roll and it was yummy. I ordered from DoorDash so I don't know if there's a difference if I went in person but I'm hoping to try it in person too. If you're craving some sushi like I did Sushi Spott is a spot to consider!

Solid place. The food was delicious. The service wasn't amazing but it also was perfectly acceptable for the location and ambiance of the place. We went on a Tuesday at 7:30pm and we were seated immediately. The drinks weren't on the menu, so to see what they had available you had to peak in the cooler. There was also no air conditioning. The next visit will definitely be when it's not so hot out (August now). Very excited to have a sushi place in Monroe.

Sushi itself is great.

The sushi is good. There are a lot of rolls to choose from. However, it's been almost a year and the fryer has never been materialized so there are several things on the menu that are still not available. Everytime we go in we are told, sorry the fryer isn't working, by now they should have taken these items off the menu. We had hoped it would be like the one in Mill Creek that has some non seafood items like Teriyaki available to make it more group friendly. They also still don't have a liquor license so it's not a great date night location for those who would like a cocktail or glass of wine. I wish these things were clear from the start instead of having to find out when we are already seated.

This little spot is among the top 25 to 30% of sushi spots in the area. It's not a top 5, but it's not far behind. Our first time here, and I don't usually do five stars on a first visit, but this place deserves it. There was a huge and creative selection of specialty rolls. Wow! And the five we had were all good. The Love Boat was stunning, and the katsu was delicious. The service was friendly and helpful, but just the tiniest bit distracted at times. We went on a Sunday at opening time. It was delicious, and we will be back. It's hands down the absolute best sushi place in Monroe--there's not really any contest, and it's not even close. What a wonderful addition to Monroe!

Excited to see a sushi place opening up in Monroe. First impressions: soft opening week hiccups here and there but it's totally understandable. Willing to be patient on that front. Hope the fryer will be up and running soon and they will have hot beverage option since I like to have my sushi with hot green tea. It's nice and spacious inside of an old building. Wish they lose the fluorescent lighting it would improve the vibe in there. The instant Asian ramen packages on the wall behind the register was a little peculiar and imo, cheapens the look of the place. The food: Lots to choose from on the menu especially if you love sushi rolls. Ordered nigiri and sashimi and a few rolls. Really enjoyed the rolls I ordered for us. The mad for garlic roll was creatively delicious with crispy garlic bits sprinkled on top. The lemon on the lemon roll gives a surprising good tang. The four seasons roll were packed with 4 kinds of fish wrapped in seaweed topped with briny ikura (salmon roe) and black tobiko which added texture and briny flavor. Overall, we both liked the rolls a lot! They all tasted very fresh and delicious. I barely dipped my sushi in wasabi soy it really didn't need it. Hope they keep everything super fresh. There's uni (sea urchin) listed on the seasonal section but the only thing they had was otoro (fattiest grade tuna belly) which was above average but not the best I had for 3 sashimi at $20. The really good ones they melt in your mouth. 4.5 stars for Monroe. 4 stars compared to Sushi Koushi (highest quality fish and sushi rice). Will definitely return for more for decent quality and convenience. Parking on street and several behind building in alley way.

Finally a sushi restaurant in Monroe, always was a patron to the lynnwood and mill creek locations, welcome to Monroe! Had a girl date the other day and enjoyed some yummy rolls, they have so many to choose from you can't go wrong. Service was a little slow, wish we were checked on a little more since the kitchen seemed to have a back up. They don't have a liquor license so no sake for me....

So many rolls to choose from! Glad this little spot is now open in Monroe, great for lunch & after a day in Hwy 2 traffic... as the youths would say, IYKYK Service was great, I can see them quickly outgrowing this space. Will be back to try more Yes, oven was out for the baked/cooked rolls, but I wasn't there to eat cooked fish, I was there for the raw stuff. If you're only eating cooked rolls, then are you eating sushi? Ok, rant over... expect yelp wants more, so one last paragraph *Dear Yelp, here are a few more sentences for the people who enjoy reading reviews rather than getting outside & experiencing what this world has to offer. Remember what life was like before yelp? We just went places 'cause they looked cool, tried restaurants 'cause they looked nice or someone recommended it... but now, most of us go on Yelp. Why? To read novel length reviews from wannabe journalists? Or are you like me: I just want to look at the menu before hand, check out the prices, & know if I'll get food poisoning or not. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh

Excellent fresh sushi. Kind of a lackluster interior as far as ambiance goes, but the quality of fish was apparent, we will be back!!

Our destination was the Route 2 Taproom, as it sounded interesting, and we've never been. We arrived, and it was what we were expecting, a very nice indoor seating area with quite a few tables, and a very nice outdoor patio. We chose the patio, which had a self service walk up bar. Just made it convenient and you didn't have to wait for someone to come to your table. My wife chose the fish and chips, which you'll see in the photo were very abundant, and cooked very nicely with a modest amount of fries, in my opinion, I would've liked more. The flavor was really good. I chose the chicken wings, which I was told I could pick multiple flavors, I chose the sweet chili, and the lemon pepper. Really like the sweet chili, the lemon pepper... well, was much too lemony. The beer selection here was quite extensive, we chose one of the lighter session IPAs, which was quite good. Overall, the staff was very friendly, engaging, and did a great job of taking care of everybody while we were there. I will definitely go back when I'm in the neighborhood. Thank you

Yes, the restaurant could definitely be cleaner ( haven't been sick ever in many years of going) sometimes they are very low or out of items....I get it! Why put out food in slow times. They must run on show string budget so they dont wanna waste. My experience is they will always fill when asked, often bringing item to table. The food isn't maybe super top notch for some, we all have different pallets but honestly I think they are sooooo yummy ( and ive been to many Chinese restaurants) The family/ staff are adorable and extremely kind. They are a business I want to support. Oh and you can get a punch card...think buy 10 get 1 meal free! Woo and Hoo!! Open your mind, leave your ego at the door and enjoy a fast ready to eat dinner!

It's a small, family‑run spot--husband in the kitchen cooking and wife running the front of the house, greeting guests, bussing tables, and keeping everything moving smoothly. The place has a comfortable, welcoming feel because of that. I went straight for my usual favorites: the Szechuan green beans, salt and pepper prawns, broccoli beef, butterfly prawns, egg foo young, and hot and sour soup. Everything tasted fresh and well‑seasoned, just like I expect from them. My kids loaded up on sushi, egg rolls, and coconut prawns--no complaints from them either. For $15.95 per adult for the dinner buffet, it's an excellent value, especially considering the variety and the quality. Whenever I'm near Monroe, I'll definitely be back.
