Visiting the Southwest Side of Chicago we went to our favorite Chinese/Sushi restaurant and sadly found it closed. Thankfully remembered that they had opened a second location further up the same street (95th). The menu, the service and and the friendly owner were all there, so I guess you can go home again.

    13. Godzilla Roll

The food was delicious. The server was attentive. I solo dined on a cloudy slow Saturday afternoon and enjoyed my experience and the food very much. I got the Godzilla and Crab Angle and didn't find the Godzilla spicy at all. I will be back and highly recommend this local chill spot for its great sushi.

My mind is blown. This is $45 worth of food.

My mind is blown. This is $45 worth of food. Usually a $15 specialty roll will be a beefy 10-piece ordeal but here it's just a snack. What an absolute ripoff

The service for starts was excellent. Waiter checked on us frequently. Food was good but could've been better. The sushi salad was very small for almost $8. The 3 sushi rolls we ordered were like 1 and a half, very small portions as seen in photos. Maybe I am expecting too much but 6 pieces for a California roll, 5 pieces of Mexican Roll and 8 pieces of Volcano roll seem a bit less than what I'm used too when it comes to rolls! Orange chicken entree was more like sweet and sour chicken that usually comes breaded with a dipping sauce. Not original orange chicken. The place was a bit busy but that's expected for Mother's Day. Not too noisy and plenty of space! Good vibes and overall a good time today. Just not good enough to come back again if I'm being honest.

Updating my review, I've been back here and have ordered takeout several times a month here -- it's one of my guilty pleasures. It's quite frankly my favorite sushi restaurant here in Oak Lawn. I've tried their competitors, and the quality just doesn't compare. Sushi Thai Me has an open kitchen concept where you can see the sushi chefs build your rolls, they serve alcohol, and they have several TV screens where you can watch sports as well. My favorite rolls from here are the spicy tuna roll and the volcano roll, and these are literally my go to. We were here last night, and a couple that sat next to us was here for the first time and never had sushi before. They were so excited for our food, and we were just introducing them to our favorites and they ended up loving it. I highly recommend Sushi Thai Me to anyone in the area looking for some delicious sushi and pan Asian dishes.

Orange Chicken without the overpowering orange flavor some places use

Came here after trying to visit their sister Chinese restaurant, Sesame Inn, in Evergreen Park. They have closed that location and added their Chinese dishes to the menu here. We ordered the orange chicken and sesame chicken and were happy that they were both as delicious as in early 2020 when we ate at Sesame Inn. They are breaded and fried perfectly and there's ample sauce covering each piece. I didn't care for the undercooked broccoli included with each dish, however. Too hard. Husband enjoys their vegetable eggrolls as well (I personally find them too dry). We would definitely order from them again anytime we're in the area. The guy who answered the phone could be a little friendlier, though.

I came here over the weekend and what a fabulous spot tucked away in Oak Lawn. The maki, and nigiri were excellent! The service was amazing and my husband and I really loved the ambiance as a whole for our date night. We came here years ago when we dated and it was a much smaller restaurant. Since then, the restaurant has expanded and looks great! Food and cocktails make for the perfect date! We are so happy to have this spot nearby instead of having to travel to the north side for sushi. Loved this place!

We chose the restaurant side and it has nice decor. They also have a lot with ample parking. Staff is warm and friendly. I do not remember the name of our waitress; however, she wore a traditional Japanese kimono and was very pleasant. I ordered a frozen pina colada and hubby ordered the frozen strawberry daiquiri. We started with potstickers. For our entrees, we ordered jumbo shrimp fried rice, shrimp with lobster sauce and shrimp pad see eiw. We enjoyed everything we ordered. There were quite a few patrons in the hibachi section which is where we plan on trying next time we stop in. Definitely a neighborhood staple and highly recommend if you're in the area.

We have dined-in, used carry out, and even catered for Christmas parties. We loved this place, until my most recent experience. On Tuesday, June 23, I wanted sushi and panang curry for my birthday dinner. It's a 30 minute drive from my house so 1 hour round trip to get carry out. I love their food so I was willing to make the trip - I ordered $160+ worth of food for a family of 5. Pick up was no problem. However, the overall quality of the food was TERRIBLE - super bland with all of the sushi rolls and even my fave roll from there, Godzilla was just AWFUL - didn't taste anything like it normally does. Three-fourths of the order was sushi so that was super disappointing. My daughters' chow mein didn't have any noodles - it was just straight vegetables. She wouldn't eat it bc she wanted the noodles. The panang curry was the only thing that tasted good, but that was only a small part of the order. I was able to speak to the manager (Peg) on the phone a couple days later and explained to her my experience and she basically acted like I was lying, making the whole thing up. That I was supposed to save the food we didn't eat in a cooler and bring it back to the restaurant that day to get some form of refund. That was the policy. Not only that, she also said their recipe has not changed nor had anyone else complain about the food that day. I explained that we already threw out the food so that wouldn't be feasible and she basically said then there was nothing she could do and that she had to follow this policy. I'm sorry but I'm not driving an hour to return the bad food that a restaurant served me - 1. How is that sanitary? 2. Why are you calling a loyal long time customer basically a liar? 3. What kind of customer service doesn't offer anything to a customer that had a bad experience at your restaurant? She didn't seem to care when I told her that MY FAMILY AND I WILL NEVER COME BACK! I couldn't believe that's how a manager would treat a customer especially one that had been coming back for many years and recommends it to others. NEVER AGAIN! BOTTOM LINE: RUN, this place has definitely gone downhill and their customer service is the worse I've ever seen. The only way to save this place is fire that manager, fix the quality of your food, and treat your customers better

For my entree, I ordered Hong Sue Chicken with vegetables. The chicken was good, with a fair amount of meat and nice-sized pieces, but I didn't care for the vegetables; there was not much crunch. I also ordered Chicken Fried Rice to share. I didn't care for it at all. My sister ordered Beef Chop Suey. She said the meat was tender, but it had this dark gravy sauce. She ordered the Chicken Lo Mein as a side dish to share but didn't like it. That was a disappointment again with the same dark gravy sauce. My sister asked the owner if she could get a free Egg Roll, and he said yes because it was over $25.00. That was a nice touch, but she asked me to try her Egg Roll because she said she had enough to eat, so I tried hers and took one bite. It didn't taste like mine, which was good, but not hers. The order taker charged a $4.00 delivery fee but didn't tell us because I gave him a cash tip, too. The delivery was fast, and the driver politely thanked us for our order. If you look at the lady's review from 03/17/24, mine was the same as hers. I would never go back to this restaurant again. I usually check the restaurant out first on Yelp, but my sister said her friend orders from there and likes it, so I trusted her judgment. We didn't save anything for later but instead gave everything to a homeless person.
