While visiting my sister over the weekend, we decided to order Chinese food for delivery. I ordered an Egg Roll, which was good, nice, and crispy. For my entree, I ordered Hong Sue Chicken with vegetables. The chicken was good, with a fair amount of meat and nice-sized pieces, but I didn't care for the vegetables; there was not much crunch. I also ordered Chicken Fried Rice to share. I didn't care for it at all. My sister ordered Beef Chop Suey. She said the meat was tender, but it had this dark gravy sauce. She ordered the Chicken Lo Mein as a side dish to share but didn't like it. That was a disappointment again with the same dark gravy sauce. My sister asked the owner if she could get a free Egg Roll, and he said yes because it was over $25.00. That was a nice touch, but she asked me to try her Egg Roll because she said she had enough to eat, so I tried hers and took one bite. It didn't taste like mine, which was good, but not hers. The order taker charged a $4.00 delivery fee but didn't tell us because I gave him a cash tip, too. The delivery was fast, and the driver politely thanked us for our order. If you look at the lady's review from 03/17/24, mine was the same as hers. I would never go back to this restaurant again. I usually check the restaurant out first on Yelp, but my sister said her friend orders from there and likes it, so I trusted her judgment. We didn't save anything for later but instead gave everything to a homeless person. read more

I give this place 0 stars! False advertising. The pictures posted do not reflect the food I received. I paid $42 for the most bland Chinese food I have ever eaten. The food has no taste with the fried rice being white and not nearly fried! They gave me anything. I called to complain and the manager told me "don't come here anymore". They took forever to answer and when she did answer the lady was very rude and didn't help with my questions about the menu. horrible service and the lady hung up on me because I had to cancel my order because my daughter got sick and needed to go to the emergency room. I go here often because the food is pretty good and it's convenient. I just paid $16 for a large beef fried rice and small beef Cantonese style lo mein. It was good, but I'm pretty sure they only gave me a small beef fried rice because the containers are the same size. No, I'm not going to call them and have a massive fit to get free food ;) I'll live with it. I will say that the employees/owners are really nice every time I go in there. There's a small table in there, but I wouldn't recommend eating inside, at least I wouldn't. Plus, it's 98 degrees out right now and it's probably 100 in there. More of a take out joint. read more

Discovered this place last week, and boy am I happy we did! (I have been here three times in a week span now, lol.. ) I ordered the Mongolian beef dinner.. It was very good! Better than the last few places I have tried, with nice lean cuts of well seasoned beef, a very tasty sauce and fresh perfectly cooked veggies. The beef was paired with white rice and an egg roll (which were average), for about $7. The other two times we stopped in for the smooothies.. My favorite item here so far! My wife and I have tried the mango, watermelon, coconut and guava smoothies so far. I highly recommend trying one of these smoothies if you have a sweet tooth, or just looking for a quick in between meal pick me up. read more

However yesterday I ordered chicken and shrimp fried rice and shrimp with lobster sauce and the shrimp was either close to spoiled or over cooked as it was mushy like mash potatoes. I have gone here for years and their food is excellent! I don't understand any bad reviews. I usually order online and then pick it up. I live about 1 1/2 miles away. One of the things I order is the Cantonese chopsuey with pan fried noodles. They usually call and ask if I want the pan fried or the soft noodles (lo mein) because most people want lo mein. They are very concerned about their customers and their food. I haven't ordered sushi lately but when I did it was great and they have lots of options. Might have new cooks, dont know why, but the food quality is not so good anymore. The orange chicken that they were "famous" for now has a very strong orange taste, not much heat to it anymore and it has been way over cooked the last 3 times we've ordered it. Pork fried rice, another dish that used to be a favorite of ours, also over cooked. Pieces of pork were more like pieces of dried leather. Disappointed. This is a typical take-out place in a strip mall. Plenty of parking. I've ordered from here several times off of GrubHub for delivery. I finally stopped in and picked up. The portions are large, nicely priced, and tasty. I like that they have several Thai selections and sushi. Though, I haven't tried the sushi yet. I ordered Mongolian beef and it was more like beef and onions. There was so many sliced onions in the dish that after I pulled them all out I had more onion than beef. Sushi was just ok and pricey, I can get better sushi for the same price near by. The only thing that was good was the chicken pad thai but even that barley had any chicken in it. They also forgot my miso soup and I had wait 10 minutes to get it. Also their menus dont have their updated prices. When I ordered the food I added up everything I ordered and came to a little over $40 including tax. When I got there my bill was $51 when I asked why they informed me their prices changed. I took a new menu off the counter to take home but when I got home I realized its the exact same. Food wasn't terrible but just not at all worth the price. The pad Thai was not good. It was pink for some reason, bland, and a little soupy. I was disappointed.

I want to say I think this smoothie helped bring my pressure down. Avocado smoothie was not all that at first but i couldnt stop drinking it. I heard avocado smoothies are very good . I love thai food. It has become my new addiction and I love that Chen's House has pad thai. I was super excited when you get to decide if you want your food hot or not. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of heat, so saying I don't want the hot and spicy in my food is a great perk for me. You just have to remember to ask. Very disappointed with every dish. We ordered fried rice which was gummy and tasted like two days' old rice; Jumbo Shrimp Egg Foo Young and it was bland like most of the food. The shrimp tasted undercooked. But it was the best of the disappointing dishes. Chicken with Broccoli was dry and not sure if any sauce was even in the box. Good friend of mine recently moved to the neighborhood so we were looking for a new place to try. We ordered the orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, egg rolls, and crag ragoon. Within 30 minutes, we were both running for the bathroom. I don't think I've ever been that sick after eating Chinese food before. Called and asked to order something different, they refused. Asked for a refund, refused as well. Zero customer service and only want your money. I have gotten food from here a few times with my boyfriend. Anytime we have gotten sushi from them, it was great and rarely any problems! We just wish that when ordering a variety of sushi rolls, they stop mixing them all together on a platter. Keep them separate. The main reason, however, for this review is because the few times we have gotten Chinese food from here - both ordering something different, the next day we were both sick! At first we thought maybe just a coincidence, but then after the second and third time we realized it was not! Not sure how they are making their Chinese food there, but you might want to make sure you are FULLY cooking it! People should not repeatedly be getting sick from it! The rice tastes like it was made with tap water from San Diego (if you've never been there, you DO NOT drink tap water in San Diego because it's disgusting and tastes metallic and treated). My friend and I both got white rice with our orders and my husband substituted for fried rice. I called because we thought we were missing a box of rice (we ordered delivery) and the lady told us she decide to combine the white rice together...totally not clear in any way and why was the container the same small size as the fried rice? I didn't like the chicken fried rice or beef and broccoli because the beef and broccoli was completely saturated with onions. The orange chicken was delicious and the red curry was actually surprisingly pretty good. I did order a 10 though and specified that I wanted it extra hot and it was more like a 4. My friend said her sweet and spicy pork was okay. They offer delivery (took about 50 minutes to be delivered). There's a $10 minimum order for deliveries and a $3 charge. It was quite difficult to place the order over the phone because the woman really was having a hard time understanding me. I had to repeat things several times and rephrase them for her to understand (asking about any delivery charges, wanting the curry to be very spicy, substituting the white rice for fried rice). I won't eat here again, but if you're not familiar with really good Chinese food and are just craving some, this isn't the worst place you could eat. read more

I have to say I am surprised by the 4 and 5 star reviews here. Certainly not my experience. I was happy that a Chinese place opened, practically in my backyard. So I tried it and didn't like any of it. I waited a couple of months, maybe it would improve with time and experience. Nope. Last night I went back, very hungry and close to home so I gave it one more try. Walked in and the place is ice cold - it was about 45 degrees outside yesterday, and the heat should have been on. Instead the overheads were blasting cold air - very weird to me. Girl taking orders was bundled up in layers. I ordered one regular egg roll, medium pineapple fried rice with chicken and medium beef with pea pods. I sat at a little table, covering my hands with coat sleeves and smiling uncomfortably at the other woman waiting, who was hunched over and wearing a hoodie. Order came out pretty quickly, and I went home to enjoy. Well, not so much enjoy as endure. Egg roll - definitely of the frozen variety. Crispy outside, mushy and unrecognizable interior. Kind of a gamey taste, not easily overtaken by the sweet and sour sauce. Fried rice - I am always baffled by fried rice that is either yellowish or beige, which this was. It should be brown, dark, rich looking. Rice had almost no flavor, chicken was tender and cut into small pieces, pineapple was terrible. Bitter, odd aftertaste and hard. Beef dish - The best I can say is the pea pods and brown sauce were good. The beef - what's with the rainbow hue on the beef? Why so chewy? Why? Look, when I see a rainbow on the lunchmeat I know that stuff has gone south. I couldn't even try more than the initial bite when I realized what was probably in my mouth already. So, that left me with white rice. And a resolve to never return to Chen's. read more

Delivery took a hour and 2o minutes, food was cold. Crab rangoon was burnt and couldn't bite it. The Mongolian beef had hardly any beef and was mostly sauce and onion. I had to throw just about everything away. The delivery driver was so rude. He was on his phone talking to someone when he got to my door and just held out his hand for money and left without a thank you or a single word.
